In this woodworking project, I will show you how to make a bench. This will not be the usual bench. I decided to make the curved bench for a round table.

The bench I will make from ash, as it is strong and is a good gift for bending. I don't use a steamer to bend wood. Because the radius of the bench allows us to do this without a steamer.

I wish you lived near me. I've got loads of (mostly reclaimed) good quality hardwood floorboards that could be cut into strips. I'd gladly swap the lot for some nice ash slabs like those!

It doesn't need to be "controlled " too much, just X+Y steps. Can be done by Arduino I reckon.

Nice job. I bet you would enjoy your router more if it had motors attached to become a full CNC.
It is an easy program to make the skim cut over the bench.

Great piece, I love bent wood. In New Zealand we do not have access to ash. I am surprised that it will bend that easily with no special preperation, like steaming, or did I miss something?
