- Philly Cheesesteak Sliders
1 large green pepper, diced
1 large onion, sliced
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 package (12 buns) Hawaiian sweet rolls
12 slices deli roast beef, sliced thin
12 slices provolone cheese
3/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon dried minced onion
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
In a skillet, cook the green peppers and onion in olive oil until tender. Without separating the rolls, cut the rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a sprayed baking pan.
Fold each slice of roast beef so that it fits on one bun. Cover the roast beef with the pepper and onion mixture. Take a slice of provolone cheese and cut into fourths. Place these on top of the onions and peppers so that each sandwich will have a total of one slice of cheese. Replace the top halves of rolls on top of the sandwiches.
In a small saucepan, melt the butter and then add the dried onion, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Stir together and then drizzle over the rolls.
Cover the baking dish filled with the sliders and refrigerate for eight hours or overnight.
Remove sliders from refrigerator 30 minutes before baking.
Preheat oven to 350°.
Bake the sliders uncovered for 15 minutes. Create a tent covering with foil and bake an additional 10 minutes longer so that the cheese will melt.
Serve warm.

My mom always said the messier food is the better it tastes. And I believe that.
I have written you before & told you how I loved the way Tom explains things so well. And I do love that. I just wanted to say. , I could see my Aunt putting Arby's horsey sauce on these. And also , I wanted to say. , I truly believe in my heart & soul that the Lord sent both of you toe me. I have a note book with a lot of , Come Sit At My Table Recipes written down.!!!! Your recipes are so easy to find & written in detail. Thank you so much. So grateful for the two of you..!!!!! God bless you. , & thanks again. 🙏✌❤
You are just the sweetest thing and we are touched by your kind comment. We are so happy that you are enjoying our channel. It's great having you at the table with us.
I'm going to make these for sure and before the beef goes on I'm spreading on my favorite horseradish sandwich spread! YUM!
Me too, it just makes the beef, onions, peppers and beef pop. Just a thin layer will do. I put it on top of the cheese and let it infuse down into the cheese, but either way will work. I add mushrooms in the onions and peppers and let them sautee too.
Thank you Tom and Melissa.I will be trying these.Iam 81 and this would be a quick thing for company, to make ahead. I think my great-grandchildren that are going to visit me soon will love them. Thank you again! Y'all are awesome!.
We are so excited that you are going to make these for your family. We hope everyone loves them. They are nice because you can make them ahead and then have more time to enjoy with you family once they arrive. We appreciate that you are at the table with us.
Tom and Melissa, I would love to sit at your table! The two of you make the most delicious foods. Yum😊
Hey these would be good dipped in Aujus too
Pennsylvanian here… not all cheesesteaks are made with cheez whiz in Philly. Some have provolone, Cooper sharp cheese, or even American. They also generally come with just meat and cheese (many will argue this is the ONLY authentic way!) unless you ask for peppers & onions.
Subway Sandwich Shops make their Philly Cheesesteaks with peppers and onions mixed in. I’m allergic to peppers, so I asked for one without peppers, but they are pre-made with peppers, so it’s a no go.
I’m a Philadelphian. I think I’d prefer to sub in the deli beef like you have instead of steak-ummms. I might have to try that if I can’t find the chopped beef usually used. I just moved to Indiana so who knows what I’ll find.
The traditional cheese is provolone or American (I’m old enough to not remember any other cheese used ) and cheese whiz was brought in by Gino’s in Philadelphia to try and do something different. He also left his meat whole but traditional was always chopped.
I’m a cheesesteak purist (if I could even eat them now that I’m GF) and yet these look really good. A different take on a cheesesteak sandwich.
You may also like to try cheesesteak egg rolls which are really good too!
Thanks again for sharing your recipe!
Yes never had peppers on PA cheesesteak
I’m from the Poconos in Penna. lived in Phila some and I can tell you that’s not a cheese steak.
Philadelphian here. If you call anything a "Philly cheesesteak" you lose all credibility.
Love sliders like these. Looks great. Thank you! Happy Teacher Appreciation Week from one educator to two others.
Ditto!😮
I have never refrigerated mine. I have made these as ruebens and also cubans with ham and pulled pork and pickles. My family loves these. We also use almost a whole little container of the minced onion. And we always make at least 24. Thank you for this recipe. It willbe the next sliders we try.😊
Provolone is best by far!
LMAO I saw that little smirk trying to sneak thru when talking about the "steak" UM"S 😉🤣🤣
My wife is making something similar right now for dinner. It's turkey and provolone on French Baguette cut small cooked in the oven brushed with garlic butter
Those sliders look delicious. Really like how detailed you are in the recipes and the suggestions and helpful tips. Appreciate your videos.
I bet that sause adds so much and really elevates this sandwich from "regular" cheesesteaks. Bravo!
I love sliders and will be trying this version. Several of the stores in my area sell packaged "shaved steak," which is wonderful for cheese steak. It's 100% real beef that's very thinly sliced and cooks up exactly like the meat in Philly sandwich shops. I love Tom's deli roast beef hack for the sliders though ❤
I am definitely trying this recipe!
I make these with ham, salami and provolone. Never thought about roast beef with peppers and onion. YUM!
Thanks Tom and Melissa, this just answered my question!! Going to make this for grandson and new baby girl mom to take over for them when she arrives. Something I can just make in a throw away pan. Along with a desert, of course!!
They look so delicious and easy to make. Yummy. Thank you so much for sharing and have a blessed Friday. ❤
I adore the fact that you're not afraid to go back and re-do something and just keep filming. Refolding the roast beef on your first one? Priceless! My inner ocd personality loved it! Think I'm making these for my next pot luck at work. Thanks Tom and Melissa!
You are welcome. We appreciate that you are okay with our not so professionally made videos. We do our best, but we are definitely amateur home cooks in our own kitchen. We are happy that you are at the table with us.
I like your show. U are organized and have everything ready. Not to mention delicious food. Some shows put me to sleep. Thanks to both of you.
I always put provolone on my Philly cheese-steak. My Husband is a purist and has to have the cheez whiz. To each his own.
I agree. I love the provolone much better.
Thank you for this recipe. I've always wanted to eat a Philly cheese sandwich. So easy. Never tried a slider of any kind. Appreciate you & your wife. May God bless you and yours. ❤❤🎉🎉😂😂😂😊😊😊😊❤❤
It's nit called a "Philly cheese sandwich". It's a cheesesteak and what that guy made ain't it. AT. ALL.
There's nothing better than pulling out a delicious meal out of the refrigerator after work and in 45 minutes (30 minutes to bring up to room temperature, and 15 minutes to bake), then poof, dinner is served. Slap some chips and a dill pickle spear on the side and your done. Delicious and a fun meal.
Thanks so much for another great sounding recipe. I have a whole folder on my computer dedicated to them. I've made quite a few of your dishes and will continue. My mouth is watering now!
Me to! I must have 25 different recipes. My fav is monte Cristo sliders but these look good as well
I love Philly Cheesesteak subs, and your sliders look delish! 🥪👍
Man o man. Gotta try these too. Wish I was your neighbor to maybe benefit from being next door lol. Love you guys.
Hi Tom and Melissa, Philly cheesesteak anything is good.. Those look delicious and I guess you eat 6…You have to save a few for Melissa…Thanks for sharing your recipe and don’t forget to “ Put A Lid On It “….
Thank you for Y’all Sharing your Masterpiece and amazing art From the Kitchen ❤❤
Going to make these this weekend. Thanks for sharing!
Everyone saying this is not a Philly calm down, never did they say "Authentic" .This is a different, "non Authentic" version of the Sandwich
Then why the f$$k is it called a Philly Cheesesteak? Call it something else. Duh
We are passionate about our cheesesteaks. It’s when you stated that Cheese Wiz was the standard is when you got me. But peppers are added and optional and I can say with confidence, it’s a condiment not fresh peppers. But I would try your non-traditional version. Thank you for sharing!
@@dmrapoport 1. Breathe, this is a family channel, this couple took time out of their day to do this for our entertainment, alluding to a curse word is not necessary
2. It's called a recipe, most people take a recipe and change it, are you saying you make a recipe to spec 100% of the time?
3. The Philly has multiple variations and this one looks amazing

Okay daddy. Thanks for the lecture. You sound like Mr. Rogers. You also have no clue what you're talking about. This is hardly a recipe. It's crap. Can I say "crap" on a family channel? Hilarious....family channel. That's a good one.
Oh, and there are variations....none with green peppers. Call it something, but it's not a Philly Cheesesteak.
And I am breathing. Sometimes I wish others weren't.
I think instead of roast beef, I might grill a steak or London broil to slice it thin.
Those look so delicious 😋 have a Happy Mother’s Day Melissa. Have a blessed night 🙏 both of you
Okay!! It looks so good, but my husband & I have been married 43 years, but my husband always gives me my food first! At the restaurant, he instructs the server that I go first, even though I wait for him to get his food, then we eat together…. Love your shows for sure, haven’t seen one I wouldn’t try!
Your Pampered Chef spatula was the perfect size to both cut & serve 'em up❤🎉😊 😋
I can hardly wait for our next church potluck!
Looks so delicious! Can't wait to try these. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe and thank you for such a lovely channel.

Those look delicious , I’ve never had a Philly cheese steak sandwich , but I have had the ham , Turkey and cheese sliders made this way with the butter sauce like you made to pour over them ! Thank you both for the Philly cheese steak recipe ! Gif bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🙏
I've been trying your recipes for a while, now. The electronic scale today at my doctor's office says I've started gaining weight! Just thought I'd let you know. Cheers! 🇺🇸 👍☕
Those Dr scales are ALWAYS wrong!! 😂😂😂
BRILLIANT idea with folding meat and cheese. Gotta try this.❤
One word- Yum!
My husband and I were watching and our mouths were watering I swear! These look soooo darn good. We will be picking up those ingredients next time we are grocery shopping! Looks so delicious!!!!!! Enjoy!!!!
I love Slider Sundays❤️
I don't think I could put them in the fridge for 8 hours! Looks yummy Thank you for a great recipe! ❤
You two are great 😊
Love you videos!
Hi Tom & Melissa, the sliders look so delicious, will definitely make this recipe. Blessings to you both.
Thankyou for sharing your video of making cheesesteak sliders. I will try this recipe! The only thing I will do differently is fry the meat in the butter for about 20 second on each side to get the juices flowing. I'll set the meat aside while cooking the onions and peppers, so the meat is cool before layering on the sliders. Genius idea to place the rolls together in a glass pan. Never would've thought of that. I like the fact they sit in the fridge overnight and then I can bake them whenever I want to the next day. Thanks again y'all!
Superb cheese pull !! Ya know it’s good 😋
In Ohio it is always made with provolone cheese. Mr. Hero's style. Yummy!
Wow, those look delicious. Thanks for another great idea!! 👏👏🙌🙌👋 from Connecticut
Yummy excited to make sliders. Thank you for sharing Kris and Ron.
Any way, this looks delicious! No matter what the picky people say. 😅 I love the green peppers, onions and provolone cheese on them. We call them Philly Cheese Steak subs/sandwiches too in the Ohio Valley. Goodness, I can’t get over comments on Social Media these days. I guess my Daddy and Mom, who were God loving people, raised me right. No wonder our world is in a mess. The Bible says a soft word turns away wrath. 😊
God bless you both,Tom and Melissa! Love your channel! 😊😊❤
You are such a great teacher explaining all details. Awesome.
Thank you. I think his teaching skills really shine through when he is making a video. We appreciate that you are watching our channel.
My they look soooo good! I’ll be adding the ingredients to my shopping list, thank you ❤
Oh my gosh they look great!
I use deli sliced American cheese on mine. It melts so nicely.
Great suggestion. We love a good, melting cheese! Thank you so much for watching our channel. It's great having you at the table with us.
kings hawaain used to make a jalepeno roll. not super spicy ...but fantastic flavor for pulled pork sliders...havent been able to find them in like 10 years =(
Great for singles too, with Hawaiian rolls 4 pack! 😋 Of course some ingredients will need to be reduced to 1/3.
Howdy There from El Paso Texas. y'all family are a very nice couple. My Wife see every video. So can you'll Wish her a Mothers Day this sunday (Pat)
Those look delicious. Thanks for another great idea!
I’m not crazy about the sweet bread with sandwiches but man they look great. The toppings look great too.
You’d have to threaten my life for me to eat cheese whiz, Velveeta isn’t far behind that. When I was working in Philadelphia or rather Bala Cynwyd I’d eat a lot of Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches. They were in a hollowed out half round loaf of bread with onion mushrooms provolone steak and marinara sauce. Not a true Philly but the best I ever had and I tried them from many different locations. Never saw one made with cheese whiz although I know that’s the traditional way. Thanks once again folks for a great recipe. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thank you! We are having a beautiful day here in the Bluegrass State. We appreciate your kind words and we hope you get to try these sliders soon. We found them to be quite easy to make and delicious.
Can't wait to try these.
Thank you for this recipe.
Provolone with white American. Add some mushrooms and Jalapeño. Yummo.
I love American cheese on my Philly cheese steaks! Yours look delicious!!😋
Prepared this last night....DELICIOUS..
Those sound and look fantastic THUMBS UP
A fun shortcut. That looks awesome. Thanks.
Those looked awesome Tom and Melissa. Thanks for sharing your recipe with us, it looks delicious. We appreciate your great videos and the fun you have making them and sharing. Fred.
Good afternoon, Fred. We enjoy these a lot and we really appreciate that you are watching our channel.
They look fantastic! Thanks guys!
😋 yum.
Those look so good. Thank you.
Luv your recipes and show. 💜
Tom, your trick for slicing the rolls is the way I'm going to do it for now on. I always try to slice all the way through and it ends up uneven by the end. I love watching you guys. When I make these, I think I'll top with everything bagel seasoning instead of the minded onions.
That sounds like a tasty idea, too. We sure hope you enjoy them. Thank you so much for watching our channel. Hope you're having a great weekend.
Those look really good. I've made ham and cheese sliders using a little different recipe for the butter sauce, but I have never refrigerated mine for hours prior to baking them so I am wondering if doing that is what I should have done before. I will definitely try these. Love roast beef and warm sandwiches made pretty much any way 😋 😊❤
Same here & I think cooking mine right away is why they weren't as good as I've had before!
Delicious! ❤😊
Looks great! Looking forward to trying these. Love your videos!
Oh Yum! Im gonna have to make these tomorrow! Thanks for sharing the recipe!🤗
Oh man, those look awesome. I will definitely be making some soon! Ty….

I can’t wait to try these, I’ve been looking for a good Philly cheesesteak recipe and it sounds delicious and easy. Thank you for sharing!
You are welcome. They were quite tasty. We appreciate so much that you are watching our channel.
I've made these before they are delicious. I made some a week ago and sprinkled Everything But The Bagel. Oh my goodness it was fabulous.
Thats a great idea & would taste great on those siders! Thanks for the tip. I will have to leave out the peppers though or use colored ones.( I can't stand cooked green peppers!).
They look so good. You guys have the best recipes. Thank you
Thanks so much for watching our channel. It's great having you at the table with us.
Here in CT, cheesesteak is traditionally done with provolone…..New Haven is all about Italian!
Great for a slumber party! ❤ Thank you !
You are so welcome! These would be great for that! We really appreciate that you are watching.
