    Jeff I love your wrestling skills. You are very good at grappling actually. But I got problem. Please answer. I got osgood schlatter at my both legs which is Its a knee disease makes your legs very weak. So I didn't train leg for 8 9 years. My legs is soo weak. When I shoot for the double leg I can catch my opponent but can't lift him.I just push him with my shoulder and pull him with my arms. I can do the takedown but I wanna lift and do a body slam. What can I do?

    • @MMAShredded
      @MMAShredded  Před 3 lety +1

      being able to lift the body shouldn't necessarily have to do with how much strength you have. It depends on how heavy your opponent is, and whether your opponent tries to sprawl or not. If they don't sprawl or do anything, its very difficult to lift them up (but realistically they wouldn't just sit there deadweight). When they do sprawl, lifting their legs into the air, you would re-direct their legs to one side and finish the takedown as you drive forward

    • @CabralNick
      @CabralNick Před 4 lety +1

      Well, there is a lot of defenses for the guillotine, the first thing u should always try to do is pass the guard, get into a side control when the opponent's guillotine is ineffective and easier to get out. Even if you don't get a side control just a half guard is better than a guillotine choke in a closed guard.

      @@MMAShredded I'm surprised. I have trained in a few gyms in Korea. They generally don't like doing takedowns much. They prefer gi, pulling guard, berimbolo. Then again, they were exclusively bjj gyms without any mma or striking classes. It's also less multicultural than I can see in your sparring sessions.

    tip: if sum1 tries 2 knee ur face during takedown, form a shield w/ ur forearm or both forearms depending on ur pref. Then take 'em down.

      How do you form a shield with your arms and use them to perform a double leg?
