350z NRG WHEEL AND QUICK RELEASE INSTALL

- Today we installed an NRG wheel, short hub, and quick release in my 2003 Nissan 350z. It's really easy with the right tools - you'll need a 19mm socket with a rachet, security torx bit (link to order below this), and a pick or flat head screwdriver. The steering wheel includes the allen wrench you'll need.

For the airbag DISCONNECT BATTERY AND LET SIT FOR 30 MIN TO 1 HR, the electrical system utilizes capacitors that store electricity in emergency situations for safety components such as the airbag, disconnecting then immediately messing with airbag will be as if the battery is still connected safety first

What a beautiful blue color behind the steering wheel haha its gives it a nice touch. I was imagining if someone tries to use the blue parts as paddle shifters while driving at 60 mph 🤣

I think the aluminum ring is for the quick release, makes it so the horn fits tight and doesn't spin around.

hoi nee niet jij I’m am a well know kid I’m my town for landscaping and charge way less then some of the big companies and my quality it top notch I started at 8 and now I’m 14 and make 140 dollar a week and that’s the minimum just hard work and saved up I put 50 percent of my earned money in the bank and the other half is mine to spend and next year I’ll be working on a farm and normal landscaping so and thanks to god he has blessed me with all I have and I’m grateful and later in life I will be a electrician and maybe a general contractor

Have you had any problems w wear? In time has it gotten sticky or dirty possibly from sweaty hands or dirt? Been wanting a suede but worried about cleaning it!

If you ever watched a NASCAR race, you would be familiar with the expression of "getting up on the wheel". This translates to the steering wheel being close to your chest. Better leverage, quicker response or just being more aware of what's going on, can't say. When I dabbled in auto cross, old timer didn't think much of me being back away from the wheel, but that was what I was comfortable with. Important thing is feet at proper distance on pedals, then steering wheel location.

I was wondering why my mark on my steering shaft was 90 degrees sideways but then I realized I have offset rack spacers so it should be like that.
I’m putting one on a 1992 Toyota pickup, why do I need it? Probably dont, but my reasoning is for theft, and it will be easier for me to get in and out, it’s also super cool.

For anyone wondering the set is about 300-400$
If you're looking to get ther mid tier steering wheels, it'll be upwards to 550+ with the hub and 3.0 quick release. Got an Alcantara Steering wheel which was a bit more pricey

Like the deep dish wheel do i think the suede will damage in no time. I would not mount the quick release. Can you get to the levers while hands on the wheel?

It’s so you do t have to buy a brass plate for connections to your horn

Yes you have to run a short hub too

Okay so my 350z is tuned and has different maps but I need the buttons from the original wheel to change maps. How would I go around that and still have a quick release

Hi, i am new to this car stuff and i would really love to know what's the reason behind purchasing a quick release steering wheel. I mean, is it purely for cosmetic reasons or there is some added benefit from using it?
Some of the benefits are for taller people, the stock wheels can get in the way of your legs when you try to toe tap the gas and break.
Also if you have a roll cage it helps get out of the car a easier.
And on street cars it mainly for aesthetics and personalization.
Make sure you do your research if and when you plan on getting one.
I installed one in my mustang because my stock steering wheel was breaking down a bit and installed a quick release and couldn’t be happier.
