Couple of things. I’m 6’1. And I fit just fine. There are 3 height settings for the seat, but needs to be set with a spanner/wrench set. Mine is on the lowest setting and it’s great.
A lot of older Alfa’s have the trunk latch in the driver door frame, it’s a nod to the marque’s heritage.
There is definitely no space in the front for storage, maybe look up a pic with the “hood” off. Just look how far forward of the front wheels your feet go.
Dropping the trunk lid - the position of the strut has already been covered, but the owners manual says to drop the lid from just a few inches above, gravity sorts out the rest.
Agree that maybe you should read up a bit more on a car before you review it. To the layman your review probably seems quite good, but to a guy like me with over 100,000km behind the wheel of a 4C, it just comes across as ill-informed. As though hardly any research was done.
Did you not notice the storage pouch below where the glove box usually goes? Speaking of which, a lot of cars do not even have the pouch between the seats.
Other than that, you’re mostly right, the car is not perfect, and not for everyone. But I daily mine, and it’s perfect for me.

Awesome I'm glad you love the car. I used a click bait title to inform others on what may be an issue (to them) down the road. I wish I can say I take these reviews "very seriously" but I don't. I have fun making them, which is the only reason I do. I'm not justifying that I dont have all the info, im simply expressing myself to ease your defensiveness.
The 4c is one badass car and there's not another on the market like it (except for the Lotus, but not really?)
There's 2 sides to every coin so with that said I extremely enjoy driving the 4c

It's got a hand laid carbon fibre racing tub and you're comparing it to a Miata? A better comparison is Lotus and Mcclaren. It's a light weight high tech mini supercar. You don't need a glovebox to drive and this is a pure driver's car. If you set it up right there is also no tramlining. It's voted the Most Beautiful Car in the World for a reason. It's hand made, it's limited in number, already an appreciating asset. A modern masterpiece in a world of souless EVs.

@Seany Unfortunately not, but check on the 4C forum, I know they're there somewhere. These cars notoriously came our with multiple alignments in different cars. Pretty much no two cars alike, and often the left side not matching the right. Dealers started sorting that out after a while.

At 7:19 you say “I’ve driven a lot of cars at this point I mean not within this class…” perhaps that explains why you were trying to chase a Lamborghini in the 4C a car with a 1750cc four cylinder engine, albeit a turbo charged one.
As for your statement at 6:50 “the chances of you drifting in this car is very very impossible it feels”. Perhaps due to your lack of experience in driving cars the that class you may not realise the Alfa 4C was not designed and built for drifting. However if you turn on Race Mode, which switches off all driver assist aids, you definitely drift it, if you want proof take a look at czcams.com/video/L3yyjoRWwGg/video.html where Vicki Butler-Henderson has the tail hanging out in a perfectly controlled way.
Did you bother to check what was under the front trunk before saying at 1.32 “this has a lot of potential for storage”. I suggest you talk to a trained Alfa Romeo mechanic who will tell you what actually is in the front trunk space.
To list the fact the 4C does not have a glove box in the dash, do you know that to name just a few, the Aston Martin Vantage, Mazda ND series MX-5, Mercedes-Benz 400E and the Porsche 996 do not have a glove box in the dash.

I wasn’t in the least defensive.
All I did was point out the major errors in your video. In closing do you really thing it was responsible to drive at 100 mph+ on a public road in a car you said has really bad bump steer? I would also suggest you do a search on any vehicle you are about to drive and read the manufacturers specifications so you will know if the vehicle has ABS.
You ask to give you a break, when you publish car review videos people expect you to know the basic facts, your opinion of how a vehicle drives is your opinion, some may disagree with you but you are entitled to your opinion. Not knowing basic facts such as does a vehicle have ABS is simply showing you didn’t bother to prepare before your review drive.
PS did you notice how VBH (Vicki Butler-Henderson) had the tail out in a totally controlled way, not bad for a car you said “the chances of you drifting in this car is very very impossible it feels”

  • @filandro
    @filandro Před 2 lety +1

If it bump steers, something is wrong, such as severely overinflated tires. Or, one does not know what bump steer is. Pros and rookies have pounded over kerbs on the back of the CF tub rigidity and suspension compliance. Also, there is, factually, virtually no lag to be noted (any that exists in a real sense of physics is overwhelmed by throttle mapping). Small turbo in a slightly oversquare aggressively mapped small 1.75L engine = You do not know what turbo lag is. Only bright thing said: Don't put chocolate in the boot, which applies to all cars.

Recommend next time taking more time to read the owners manual on cars you test....would help know how to access features. And yes....it has "NANNIES" to keep you from doing stupid things in N mode....put it in R mode and all the nannies are off except for ABS. You can drift this very easily as shown in several other car reviews....but a good driver doesn't spend time doing silly stuff like that. I hope you didn't damage that rear engine cover slamming it down like that....and the prop rod wasn't stowed correctly. Could have been a very expensive act. I have had my 2015 4C LE since I bought it new. They are an amazing car...especially with better tires and a good alignment with 0 front toe. A 4C needs to have the correct tire pressure. People and tire shops ignore the label in the door and manual and put way to much air in those tires and handling goes to hell. 29psi R and 26 psi F cold or even a pound less both ends makes it drive the way it is supposed to. The 4C has proven to be very reliable and bullet proof on track. And the best part is you won't see another one at every corner.

@@gsgcarreviews Favorite clip is the shot of rear end of the car. The 4C is indeed one sexy car. I have a EU spec 4C (150kg's lighter(!) then the US spec), tuned by a specialized company here in my country and did some changes to the suspension setup & tyres. Result is 298hp at the wheels, at 890kg with a crazy amount of grip. I have the car already 3,5 years and last weekend I drove it for 3 houres straight at some mountain roads. I just had a sort of revelation. I had the biggest smile you could imagine. This car, with my setup is just so abnormally good. I just could not stop smiling. Everything came together. Not only the road with the car, but the road with all the different parts. The engine, the gearbox, the brakes, the suspension, the hardness and the absolute ridiculous speed in straight line below 200km/ph. All the parts started dancing with the road. Amazing! Check my channel for some impressions about my 4C. This is by far the best analogue car you can buy today and it will be an instant classic for the comming years.

The American version is much heavier than the designed European version. So in America you're not getting the true experience (and speed). BUT I have never seen such a shambolic piece of content. You know nothing about the car, and your driving is very poor. You appear to be overloaded when cornering. So you're not in control.
