    I own my own 4c. Saved up like mad and i love it! Wouldnt change it for the world. The quirks give it personality and that is what alters it from being a normal day to day car such as the Caymen, into ths most rewarding car to drive... if anyone wants one. Take my advice and buy one whilse the values are steady!!!

I know I know it’s a baby supercar/luxury vehicle but as in general IT IS an expensive car for the significant majority (0ver 85%) of people who don’t earn a 6 figure salary. Having said that IMHO this is THE BEST review of the car I have watched.

    As a 4C owner I can say the car is unique in its driving experience. The lack of power steering is a nonissue once you are underway, even at speeds as low as 5mph, however a 6 speed would add a little more fun factor. The car is complete blast to drive and the low weight makes it feel faster than it is. That is not to say it is slow but nowadays a low 4 second to 60 is only quick not fast. With that said a dual clutch transmission is all the rage in sports cars these days and finding a manual transmission is difficult in most brands. If I was to purchase another car it would be a GT350 which I consider a more practical car. I already own a corvette and that is far more powerful and a price equivalent but lacks the character of the 4C. In addition, limited production numbers and lack of dealers make the 4C appear much more exotic and rare even in South Florida where exotics are relatively common. You can daily drive this. despite Doug's score, and the trammling (inability to track on rough surfaces) is not an issue in most roads in the USA.The support of the 4C forum and other owner groups is also an additional benefit.

  • @verynormalman
    @verynormalman Před 3 měsíci +1

    As an owner, you can't drive in boots like that. The peddle set up with the aluminium, it's so easy to make an error with your feet. I am 6'2" with feet in proportion. So this is the only car, where I keep some slim trainers as driving shoes. The AR designed P Zero's are a massive part of the handling issue problems. And width restrictors in London are difficult, especially when some of the "KERB" stones are pushed out of line.

    Oooh don't lay on the car!!!!!!!! the 4C has the world's thinnest paint! - Anyway awesome car - I've had an Alfa Rosso Spider for 3 years and love it... Pure Driving Bliss... Went from a Lotus Elise S2 N/A to this and agree with your assessment - the Elise is a bit more raw, the steering was far better and of course the manual transmission was great, but the 4C captured my heart. For me, not owning other exotics like you have, this car IS my exotic (MKIII Focus RS and an F150 off-roader are my other vehicles), but it was very interesting to hear you compare it to true supercars as an owner.
    Thank you for sharing your perspective! One question though - why not use the paddle shifters? I almost always use mine unless I'm lost and looking at map and can't be bothered to shift. Looked to me like you and your lovely guest had it in auto the whole time...

Interesting two points of view. I love my 4C Launch Edition. You can have fun. Accelerate fast. Hear the turbo and wastegate plus exhaust symphony. No BS electric assisted steering. And because you are so low to the ground, you can get the illusion that you are going incredibly fast even when you are just going a bit above the speed limit. What a fun car! Lastly, the car has a Dual Clutch that gets 35 mpg on the highway (I sometimes even get up to 40mpg!). Incredible car at a incredible price just don't use this as a daily driver.

The instructors described it as a “joke” car. I chose to drive it because I had a series 2 exige at the time and the lotus is way superior. I also drove the 4C on regular roads and 👎. 15-16 Jaguar F-Type S, or the 4C for $45-50,000? I'm leaning toward the Jag, but holy shit, the 4C is so unique.

    Hello mate, what has been done to your 4c?! I just saw it destroy the exige and M2 competition - it has no right!! Surely it’s not standard? It’s made it back onto my shortlist!

  • @sebastianconstantin5176

    Love the looks of this car, but it's way under powered. Needs a Type R VTEC Turbo Upgrade!

    I am so tired of amateurs complaining about manual steering. ANYONE who has owned a mid engine car with manual steering knows that the trick is to NOT TURN THE WHEEL WHILE YOU ARE STATIONARY. Of course it will be heavy. If you have the car even SLIGHTLY in motion, the weight lets up significantly and makes parking lot maneuvering no big deal. Learn to drive a mid engine car before you complain about a mid engine car.....Unless of course you already know all this and are just exaggerating to make your review more dramatic. Which I think is usually the case.

    Your on screen chemistry is great. You should do more.
    (On a totally irrelevant note, a hot girl with an accent and some sense of humor and spunk is 10,000 times hotter when she digs and drives great cars.)
    And the review is as usual, very very insightful and tops, Mark. Well done.

    You should try an Alpine A110.

      I spoke to Alpine Cars but they didn't have an A110 available the weekend we were filming. I will try to get my hands on one soon to compare.

    i had the 370z nismo before. That was a special car. I would get an alfa but can someone 6'2 fit? How much is a race exhaust if it doesnt come with one?
    this leaves the RS3, my bro was a passenger when it happened 😁

    • @sbadaro
      @sbadaro Před 5 lety

      No problem fitting once you're inside... It's the getting in and out that is challenging... And finding a place to fit your cell phone or anything bigger than a wallet if the passenger seat is occupied... No excess space... Period.

      888MF btw I agree with everything you said about the 4C. It’s definitely going to be collectible. It’s hard to imagine a car like this gets up to 34mpg gets to 60 in 4.5 and has a decent top speed. It has everything including those gorgeous Italian lines.
