    My wife's maternal grandmother was a Holgate, we still have a few artifacts given to her great great grandfather, Henry Holgate of Burnley connected to Elgin Church I think.
    My father in law, now deceased, a proud Burnley man, would have been delighted to have seen this.
    Edit* we have a silver trowel presented to Mr.H.Holgate for laying the foundation stone of the New Sunday School, Saturday June 25th 1910.
    Sunday school is attached to Elim P.M Church.

      If you want to do some research the earliest known use of the noun pay cheque is in the 1870s. But thanks for watching

    could you do one about Reg Haslem ' he was my grandmother's uncle he murdered his common-law wife they hung reg in 1917 ?' very sad case really

    Boardman was from Blackburn eh ' that explains a lot ' most probably a horse fiddler as well
