How I adopted 2 stray dogs from Greece

I can't describe how happy I was when I finally got to meet Joia in person, one and a half year after we met online. She had been following the channel and the dogs' rescue stories, but when she decided to come to Greece and adopt Daphne, I was abroad and couldn't make it back to Greece. We never lost touch, and when I told her that I was going to Chicago for an adoption, she decided to adopt the second dog that she always wanted. So Lila travelled with us to the States, and became Joia's second dog and Daphne's best friend. We spent a beautiful day together, we talked, walked the girls, had lunch and said our goodbyes with a promise to meet again, this time in Greece. Both dogs were rescued by Save a Greek Stray from the streets of Greece where they were abandoned as puppies. They are of the same age, about two years old, and they loved each other since day one. Hopefully they have many happy years ahead of them, to enjoy everything they were deprived of in the beginning of their lives.

I always do, I even sit threw the ads because it helps fund her, from what I understand. So please don't click "skip ad", I know they are terrible to sit threw, however if it helps Valia out financially, I will sit threw 30 minutes, if I must lol. Her message and love needs funding, so she can keep the live of animals moving around the world. She's a heroine of Greece women everywhere!😁😎❤

Oh Valia!!! I'm crying watching this video. You are an amazing storyteller, you are so poetic. I can't believe our story started with a video and now we'll be friends forever. Lila is doing so well! Her tail is wagging on our walks and she loves Daphne. And sweet Daphne is so much calmer having her new sister here. I'm so grateful to you for changing my life in such a profound way. @@joiab11 I live in Scotland and adopted ah disabled dog that was abused he was in kennels and then ah Foster home wee are waiting for wheels coming as he can't walk very far wee have had him for ah year now and he is amazing and the you get is also amazing and yes like you they are ah gift god bless you and your babies

I don't understand there has two dislike for this video. It is so nice that people who are willing to go to other countries for adopting dogs or for doing some volunteer works for stray animals. I personally cannot do it because I know I will be so depressed if I see a bunch of stray dogs or cats in streets, and I am not able to help or take them home.
What a lovely amazing love story. The girls get along so well too. Your right the hard dogs are the best ones to me. I had a shy boy and it does take time for them to be brave and trust. However when they do it's like watching a flower bloom. Thank you both for the story. It's amazing to see an over seas adoption work out so perfectly! Best wishes and love~D

Or dogs!!!!....I don't know why but all the dogs there looks like they need extra love and affection for all the bad things they went through.......The mission and the purpose is to rescue, the hope is one day we don't have to anymore.....I hope that day will come.........

It's so kind from you to adopt dogs from grece 💞. Animals conditions way of life there seem awfull... Did you see the vidéos of Takis Shelter in crete ? This man is amazing and he picks up every day dogs that have been abandoned as trash, in horrible conditions... There's a pétition on "change. Org" to ask for a sterilization campaign of stray dogs in Greece...

I love your videos, I think the day I found your channel was a great deal in my life. I would adopt serveral greek stray if I han´t lots of mexican strays my self. One of the first videos I saw was about Kittens lifes that matter. You just put in words my very own feeling about them. Stray cats and dogs helped change my consciousness, and your words just "hit the mark". Thank you for alll your work and your effort, be sure it is reaching beyond this life...

"You can't bring a dog on a plane in the winter" ... now I'm confused.
At 10km altitude, ground temperature doesn't matter, lol, it's always -40°C up there, lady.
Which is why cargo compartments are pressurised and heated.
Animals wait in the tarmac during loading and unloading, and they are exposed to the cold. When the temperature drops below 45oF, pets are not allowed to fly. The same thing happens during the summer, when they are exposed to the heat.
But there are also so many stray dogs in the US.

I don't know about Illinois but there are plenty of homeless animals in my local shelter. For every animal imported there is an animal left behind in your state. Sigh....
Honestly, i find it a little bit odd, that person from usa feels necessary to come to Europe for adoption...while there are shelters full of dogs and many sacrificed and people there abandon dogs on deserts. But maybe we don't see problems near to us 😢.
