There's a lot of confusing information on the internet, hopefully this very succinct breakdown makes it a little easier to understand. 💬 Add me on Whatsapp whatsapp.com/channel/0029Va6s...
Probably the worst advice I have seen in a long time. It is what people want to hear and not what is actually healthy. As far as I know doctors learn nothing about nutrition and nothing about health so why mentioning it?
@@mrsoul4231 too much fiber, too much sugar. when someone tells you to eat fruit all day, he has no clue that fructose is metabolized like alcohol and you can actually damage your liver just with "natural" fruit. Real fruits don't have as much sugar as the stuff you can buy in the supermarket. And most vegetables you wouldn't even consider as food in their natural form. The easiest way to judge if something is healthy, is to think about our ancestors as hunters and gatherers. They had access to a lot of things, but not throughout the year and most plants only in very small amounts (also no processed grains). Our digestive system is clearly that of a carnivore and suffers from too much fiber and sugar. Also all mammals live from fat as primary energy source and not carbs (maybe there are some fruit-monkeys or something but even plant-eaters metabolize the fiber to fat and not carbs). There is no reason to believe that humans are an exception to this. Being able to store glycogen is not proof that you have to eat carbs. It is just an adaption for times when better food is scarce. Carbs are maybe good in autumn when harvesting season was to get fat for the winter but I guess it is still healthier to skip that. Most people never realize how addictive carbs are. To quote Mitchell Hooper: "Carbs make me happy" yes, because it is a drug. Heroin makes people happy, too, until they come down :D
@@PLTgamer I already answered with a long explanation but it was deleted, apparently. Basically: Don't eat too much plant-based food and strictly control your carb-intake (for example carbs only in the afternoon/evening or go keto). Your digestion will thank you.
Love it. Agreed, the most simple video ever. Doesn't spend ages talking about a bunch of scientific terminology, data, etc; that no one really knows. The ONLY thing I think he could have added, would be something along the lines of: "pay attention to when you feel low energy or have a headache after eating something. try cutting the things out you ate that day one by one, and see if you notice a difference. If not maybe consult a dietician to run some tests." But nothing beyond that to keep it simple. And that only applies AFTER you've been eating healthy and exercising, and only IF you experience abnormal low energy or migraines. Such as I found I have an issue with bananas and avocados, aka latex. I never knew "latex foods" existed.
Flawless. So many people struggle with these basic concepts, including the experts. It's not nearly as complicated as some would like to make it. Love your stuff
1:27 as someone from Essex I thank you for this. I can't stand it when people throw in made up words to impress. Great video, short, snappy, witty and informative. Appreciated.
I mean, all words are made up. The English language actually has average 10,000 new words added to it each year. But, I understand what you are saying.
@@kevinburtnick7818 Soda isn't fundamentally bad it's all a question of balance and if you know when and how to use it and how much you consume. Food mostly isn't just black or white, the sum is what matters, and sometimes the extra sugar can help people to get through a task or their day. Of course it's not the only thing that can help in that situation, but its an option. One of the most important things in nutrition and dietary science is to stop seeing food categories as fundamentally bad or good and caring more about the sum and your individual use case.
@soerenbo You may not fully understand human behavior. We don't require statistics to comprehend the devastation caused by food addiction. Soda consumption is a significant factor, look around. Type 2 diabetes rates are soaring, and heart disease remains the leading cause of death, largely due to diet. Does moderation work for an alcoholic? And good and bad, right and wrong exist. Respectfully,
@@kevinburtnick7818 Odd of you to immediatly attack my "understanding" of human behaviour just because i disagree. Soda is not the one major factor, a bad diet is a bad diet, you can also only drink diet soda or water and still have a bad diet. I understand your point, but it's still "wrong" for me to pick on soda specifically, because it's easily possible to have a balanced and healthy diet and still drink (some) soda. It's not the one thing that makes people fat, it's one factor, but not the one. Yes there are lots of people who don't understand the amount of calories they put into themselves while drinking, but that still doesn't make it wrong to drink it if you know how to dose and balance it. That's my whole point and a part of this videos message, balance is the key, most things aren't fundamentally bad.
I will never get tired of honest people shooting their shot at explaining the basics of health in one simple video. This is not only a brilliant presentation but something I actually feel comfortable sharing to someone who isn't mind-numbingly scrolling through videos like this like many of us in the comment section likely are.
@samendrakumar1278 I think he means that if their diet is overly strict (like never eating cereal/protein bars/coke zero sometimes), they won't be able to sustain it forever. Basically, you have to be at least somewhat flexible for long term success.
Once again, well done! Nutrition should be simple, only when it became so toxic and full of "experts" that people got confused and started doing random cutting of foods, adding strange supplements and getting more overweight. This video is amazing, back to basics!
Breath of fresh air this guy! I only ever listen to his nutrition/fitness advice as its bullshit free! Thanks James, always recommend your channels to my friends new into the fitness world!
I’ve watched dozens of food - health videos over the years.. this is an excellent video, straight to the point and easy to understand. Thank you sir!!!
Amazing . Just breaking it down like that makes it super clear. The old phrase eating a little of everything in moderation was a start point but with refining you seem to get this . I ve been doing mostly the above in the video for about 9 - 10 months now and it has made a difference Im almost at the point where I m not even thinking so much about what I wll eat because Im doing mostly the real fresh foods with the odd processed treat on occasion. I didnt know about the probiotics as i was doing that but I do snack on fruits and raw carrots and celery and snack on a few nuts so I guess I dont need them
It is difficult when the cost of fresh fruit and veg for a family, far exceeds the cost of processed crap. Trying to juggle that with the ever rising costs of everything.. I think gardening should be put back into schools again.
Does it? Because I feel like that is very location based. Farmers markets have tons of things really cheap. And a bag of chips by me is 7 dollars American but a bag of apples is 3, for probably twice the amount of fullness. I just made two five hundred calorie lunches with 50g protein for 8 dollars, using ground turkey, broccoli, cauliflower, and rice. Edit: also make your own garden to teach your kids about gardening. Or talk to your kids principals and school boards.

I love how straight forward James is. This shows how easy it is to eat healthy. Although it's almost impossible to find a healthy protein powder nowadays which is why I'm now making my own organic bulking version with no harmful sweeteners and additives 😂
Love the channel James, i think i'v nearly watched all the videos now! You'v inspired me to do something about my belly and i'v started my own vlog about it, keeping it simples with the calorie restriction!
Great video! I wish there were other sources of protein represented like any legumes like chickpea hummus lentils tempeh, because that’s also part of a healthy diet, while having meat at every meal isn’t.
It's ridiculous how easy it really is.. We all know what we should eat but gets confused by all the different diet videos, This is the only video people should watch
