  • If you like multispecies ultralight fishing, you are in luck! As the owner of Mule Fishing, I have been working on the development of this bait for a long time now... Introducing the Horse Fly! This is a 1.5" insect larvae imitator which is made of a soft, high-stretch material. This makes it incredibly durable so it will hold up to numerous panfish, trout, or whatever else you are chasing.
    Check them out at www.mulefishin...
    See more info on the Mule Fishing CZcams Channel: / @mulefishing
    These come 10 per pack and are available in 5 colors to start:
    Black
    Dakota Sunrise (similar to a morning dawn)
    Ranch Hand (similar to a light pumpkin color)
    Red Dirt (standard red which will mimic bloodworms)
    White
    Thank you in advance for your support. I am beyond grateful for the growth of Mule Fishing and look forward to developing more products to help you catch fish in the future. Seriously I can't thank you enough!

    Those are cool. Nothing is new under the sun though. I used to fly fish with a piece of trimmed plastic worm about a half inch long with diameter not much bigger than the hook. The Bluegills loved purple and blue in Tennessee. Loads of fun.

      @FishAnything  Před 3 lety

      For sure! The fishing industry always has similarities over time but I’ve seen nothing out there for panfish that is durable and stretchy 🤠 I’m trying to ensure anglers can extend their dollar by not tearing up plastics too quick.

    Thank you for the videos, I picked up two rods and a reel after watching your other video on different poles. The Daiwa Revros 5’6” ultralight combo is worth every penny. I haven’t tried the other pole successfully yet(Bass Pro micro lite 5’6”), need a smaller reel which will be my old Mitchell 308. I picked up some of your jigs and softbaits as well. I am waiting for your red Horseflies to be back in stock as well as other colors so I can order. I did pick up the white fly though. • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Před rokem +1

      Thank you! I typically do it based on depth, wind, water clarity, and what I am targeting. Obviously that is a lot of factors but generally speaking, I like to use the lightest weight I can get away with to get the bait in the strike zone. So if it is calm and I am fishing down to 10' or so, I will likely use a 1/32oz jig. Whereas if I wanted to fish less than five feet, I would probably go with the 1/64oz jig. Experimenting and getting a feel for what you are comfortable with is always a good way to learn this over time.

    How do the mule products work of the 1/64 trout magnet jig?

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Před 2 lety

      I haven't used them with TM jigs because I always run Mule Jigs. I developed Mule Jigs to include a keeper which is highly valuable with this type of plastic. Once it is rigged properly, it will hold steady for a long time. That said, I am sure they would work just fine on a TM jig.

    is 10lb power pro braid with 4lb mono leader good enough to toss it on your 1/64 jig head

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Před 2 měsíci

      That should work! I’d prefer a bit lighter line as it will be lower diameter and help with casting distance, but the 10lb braid will technically work.

      I really like the quality of this tackle I have only just started ultralight fishing and am hooked. The horse fly is working very well on the 1/80 mule jig. I have dropped a video of my first trip with the tackle. Thank you so much for making some great products.

    Hi Ethan, I got a question. What jig head size would I need for a 1.8' inch soft plastic lure ?
    I tried the 1/32 hook size 6 mule fishing jig head on the Berkley 1' inch Nymph and it fit great ...
    Thanks
    mike

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Před 2 lety

      Depends on the plastic but that size should typically work well with 1/80 - 1/32oz depending on the body diameter of the bait. If it is thicker, you might be able to use the 1/16 & 3/32.

  • @shawneldridge4465
    @shawneldridge4465 Před 2 lety +1

    Since you use a lot of light tackle when it comes to fishing.
    So I was wondering here,
    Have you ever used those Berkley powerbait 3 inch floating trout worms.
    If you haven't, please give them a try, fish will go nuts over them. My two favorite colors to use is orange peel and green chartreuse and they come in like a 15 pack. Not only they're good for trout but for other species as well. Next time you do a fishing video can you please try to use them and give them a chance.

      @@FishAnything thanks for the quick response. Since you don’t have any kits yet can I ask you what you would recommend to start with? Your videos got me interested in building an ultralight setup from a new pole to the jigs. So I know it’s your company so you recommend it all but what would you suggest if I could only buy one jig size and one soft plastic. What is your killer combo

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Před 2 lety +1

      If I was going with one to cover all situations, I would probably get a 1/32oz Black Mule Jig & a Donkey Tail Jr in a color you like. True Chartreuse is always a fun one for me but they all work equally good in my experience.

    • @PrimeMKTO
      @PrimeMKTO Před 3 lety +1

      Let it sink. Twitch it. Bounce it. Swim it. Paired with a 1/64 oz mule it will fall nice and slow. Let it fall right through the zone.

    • @FishAnything
      @FishAnything  Před 3 lety +1

      Yep, like he said ^
      Honestly I was mostly drifting it or letting it sink by weedbeds. I watched my line diligently. They were popping it pretty light that day 🤠
      You can fish it off the bottom or twitch it through the water column.
