Skip's "Ifs" are poor if you consider the team was 3 points better on offense and 6 points better on defense without Ja. Not that I believe it, but an argument could be made that the Warriors may have won in 5 if Ja never got hurt. Throw in the "ifs" that favor the Warriors and what argument can be made that would favor Memphis?
They were outrebounded. Out defended. Out experienced. Out executed in 5 out of the 6 games. The Warriors missed some key shots down the stretch in game 2 but the execution was flawless. "If" the Warriors simply made a few more open looks they got in that game, an argument could be made that they don't even get to game 5.

If I didn't see Ja miss a GW layup in game 1, I would totally agree with you. Imo that series coulda been 2-1 for both teams. Game 3 was the only game that it didn't matter if Ja was playing. Just like game 5 didn't matter who was playing. The Warriors shot a record percentage game 3. They were winning that game period. Them losing by 30 with Ja ain't no different than the Warriors being down 54 with Steph, Klay, & Dray playing. Having Ja doesn't guarantee Memphis anything but I would like my chances in games 4 & 6 headed into the 4th quarter of a tight game with the ball in Ja's hands. He didn't exactly get stopped in the series he was damn near averaging 40. I think Memphis might be the toughest series the Warriors face this postseason. Mavs going back to Dallas down 0-2.

It's a tough take when you expect "career" average to sightly above average shooters to out shoot players who are "career" above average to elite shooters. If the Mavs can shoot better, you have to assume that the Warriors can shoot better as well, especially in that 1st half. Then, you have to account for the Warriors being the 2nd best 2nd half team, being #1 in 3rd quarter net rating. You also have to look at the fact that the Warriors have been the better defensive team, better passing team, better rebounding team, and has the better weapons on both sides of the ball.
The reason we can even argue about who will win is strictly based on what the Mavs did to the Suns as if it was customary for the Mavs shoot like that and opponents collapse like that. Only because of what the Mavs did to the Suns do I believe this could go at least 6 games. We know the Warriors will win at least 1 game in Dallas to grow their NBA record of winning at least 1 road game in every series, and we know the Mavs are extremely limited if Doncic is not above and beyond the best player in every game.
