I've toned down the title.
I'll answer some frequent comments:
"I like the game" - Great, I really hope you enjoy it.
"It's not pay to win because you can only buy from players" - For me buying power for money is pay to win, even if you can catch up, but fair enough if you don't think so.
"You haven't played all the content" - this is true, I didn't play everything and I mentioned that in the video, I didn't do the story as I ain't into that and I personally don't bother with them - if you do, great try it out and let me know your thoughts.
And I didn't do the guild stuff because it's not my thing, and yes that is the main part of the end game but I think most people won't get there. If you like this then great, enjoy.
"You enjoyed New World, opinion invalid" - I love New World but not oblivious to it's many many flaws either
Every single MMO on the market is p2w. Doesn't matter if you are buying in-game, or if you buy from 3rd party, they ALL are p2w. The amount of money players spent from g2g on gold shows that game is p2w also ( considering you did nothing but talk about p2w )
So for you, buying power.......that someone already grinded and placed in the auction house......is P2W.

Yeah came here to say the same. The way I look at it is we don't get very many MMOs and when we do they are usually down right awful which this def isn't. Could it be better? Absolutely but its far off from being the worst MMO I've played in the last handful of years and as long as I don't go in with this mindset of needing a game to last me hundreds to thousands of hours a lot of the problems simply don't matter that much.
One day old MMO players will get over chasing that feeling of finding a game that hooks them like their first MMO did because its not likely to happen anytime soon (or ever again) without some major advancements in tech and changes to game design. If we look at the current upcoming MMOs its simply more of the same that will be missing features, need polish etc. but we have become so dang picky nowadays we don't stick around to allow those games to build out the things old MMOs got the chance to build out.
If you liked beta you’ll really enjoy the new changes they implemented in KR.
When someone reviews an rpg and says “the main quest is sort of okay, I have no idea what the story is” you probably shouldn’t take a word they say seriously. Space bar skippers skipping all the story then saying there is no good story is wild.
Yeah, he's nuts. Anyone that likes a good story can say we got a good one here, with tons of cutscenes, and structured, with start, middle and end (different than bdo, at the releasing). Way better than his beloved new world and much more engaging that tarisland or gw2, that's for sure. I got myself not even doing main-quests, since even side-quests got good thought out stories. Little bits of lore scattered around the world telling you more about the region, characters and scenary. I even spoke to my friends: 'Wow, ncsoft really put some effort on this one.' Soundtrack is so good as well and the gorgeous world. I really don't care about tab-target, action, or whatever. I believe we got a little of something for everyone here. Being a mainly pve player that eventually do some pvp events and GvG, its good to see pk in the open world properly resolved, with a time and space for each public. Optimization is out of this world as well. I got a old rtx 2060 and ryzen 5 5600g 32 gb, but the game runs flawlessly. Some guys were rocking a 1050 ti and still managed to play decently with a low preset.
I just assumed he was unable to understand the story since it was in Korean, and was just gauging the pacing and visual aspects. Though, admittedly this was speculation on my part.

@@doramas1079 couldn’t agree more. There’s literally a whole game system dedicated to helping you recap on the story through very good visually pleasing cutscenes. I found that so nice. I did the same with the side quests and actually found some of them to be a lot more fun and a lot more charming than the main story line. For people like us who love a good story, which is the majority of the real rpg player base mmo or not, this game ticks every box. I feel like I’m playing “next gen” world of Warcraft, mixed with some Witcher 3 and design work that is on a level with BG3.
I get where he’s coming from, some people just don’t like rpg’s and he just doesn’t seem to enjoy them.

What a click bait title :P well as you said, there gonna be an audience for TnL, I'm part of this audience, and I'm glad the developers keep developing the game for this audience instead of trying to get a bigger audience and eventually lose the game identity (which is GvG and guild progression). As for the spells overhaul, it really makes the combat more dynamic from start (also because they increased base mana regen) and overall more satisfying, given that you enjoyed the combat before. I know some people talk about it like a massive combat change and I think they're wrong, combat is fundamentally the same, but better and more diverse.
It does look more interesting, I felt much more op without even having better gear

Well, the opening statment is not true. They have increased item drop rates from mobs/dungeons, so you'll get a lot more than previously while you are leveling (this change was not in the open beta).
Everyone should try T&L on launch (it is free) and decide yourself. For me this is the best MMO in years and I guess I'll play it till AoC release :).
Where is the source for the first point? Because the hyper server don't count. I haven't levelled recently on KR normal servers and not aware of this change.

I really think NW is shutting down and the console release is a last push for revenue. Why else would they have nothing be added up till the console launch and nothing announced for after. GG, wish I could say it was fun but what a waste of time that game was. Horrible devs...
@@Label07 itm at an empass with NW. I paid 60 bucks for it when it was on preorder. I have 3k hours in it. I have made friends that will continue to play other games with and enjoyed my time in it. For the most part i feel like I got my 60 bucks out of the game. I just hate that the devs were so single minded they could not see they are wrecking the game. I stood up for them early on but now I just feel bad for anyone who plays it now because it is a shell of what it once was.

on a serious note, one MAJOR selling point is the crossplay. Looking for a game for my gf and her sister to play (sister is on xbox but we both game on pc) is pretty rare to find anything we would all even moderately enjoy lol.

But how can you judge a game without having played the end game, now your mouth is just filled with pay to win without thinking. If you eat bad food, should you eat it all until it's good? I don't think so. A game has to motivate you to play it from the beginning. If it doesn't catch you in the first few hours, then it's a bad game.

@@jayoddity From what I saw in the global version, no! and if you talk to people who have played a little more hours than you, you'll understand that in the end it's not about pay to win but more about pay to fast. Because everything you find in the market you can drop and it's players like you and me who sell! So if you buy coins on the black market then that's fine! Look, new world is full of people who buy coins on illegal sites, but here I simply made it legal.

Can you show where you can buy traits or items that help advance your chracter? Im aware of the pass and the battle pass to get upgrade stones and material to craft new gear. At 4:04 you mention it can reduce the pay to win. Are you able to buy these items anywhere in the game from the open beta?
So this is on the korean servers, I'd suggest asking a twitch streamer than my failure to understand it, but it's much easier to trait now

Let's be honest. The best thing about TnL is that no other decent MMORPG has been released for a long time or is going to be released in the near future so many players overlook all the obvious issues the game has just to play something new, it might die in few months or become very niche game with low pop.
I wish the game becomes successful but at the same time, if that happens, be prepared that NCSoft will introduce more P2W. They are probably holding off with introducing more P2W now when the game is not in a good state.

I'm sorry but Lost Ark was very grindy and p2w, but the Bosses were top tier with great combat, it most certainly was at least decent.
The combat is one of the best I have seen in mmorpg and people that not admit it are on denial. I love the game and I can’t wait to play it.

@continuepopping what weapons did you play? Cause range feels passible and melee is dogwater due to the melee range being way to short you can't move around the target much without completely breaking combat

dude, you have been playing new world 24/7, spamming the same opr map , with clunky unresponsive movement, terrible fps performance in all pcs with s where you can dodge a comet by jumping 1cm (created by physics teachers of harvard university)... seriously this game is a lot better
To me NW has responsive movement and great fps. It's all based on opinion I guess. Can't say anything about T&L yet as I don't like beta testing.

I only played the recent open beta and I normally play sword and shield or some other melee class. I quickly found that I hated the feel of melee but when I switched to staff and wand it felt much more natural and fluid. So maybe its a matter of certain weapons being better in combat feel than others? What I found a disappointment is that at times some of the quests had sections that felt like the developers just wanted to get through that bit as fast as possible. At one point I went to report a problem as instructed and the person I reported to suddenly came up with all these "facts" from my bare bone information. Logic went out the window. It was possibly the localisation that was bad and missed some essential bits of dialogue, but it was very jarring. And you are correct - the writing ranged from pretty good to just meh. So I think something good enough to play (without spending money) when I don't have anything else to play.
I heard several people say that ranged feels better so it's possible.
if u played in early levels ofc combat becomes better and improved at end game
I never play a mage in MMO's but in TL it just felt too good 👏 Staff and bow will be my go to at release! 🤗

Everyone is saying how the game is p2w but i still havent seen a single content creator saying how easy it is for a f2p dude to make enough lucent ( donation currency ) to buy everything that they want (battle pass, lvling pass) only by farming in game
Youre talking about content being locked at different hours, but youve failed to mention everything important, everything guild related, everything that makes this game special is always at the prime time of EU/Na,so youre not forced to play all day, to skip work, to skip family, you can enjoy everything the game offers withoit being a whale/no lifer
Combat might not be for everyone but its extremely good and fluent and feels nice, although i agree youll have to test it yourself and actually see if its something you enjoy
Overall, the points youve made about the game are super invalid, and if anyone wants to play the game but you feel intimidated and you feel discouraged because of what this dude said, trust me, he has no clue what hes talking about!

Ppl wanna complain about the combat but combat here is solid, could be better but it’s not bad like some ppl make it out to be. A good comparison to this game is ESO combat just without the hassle of wep swapping. Guild V guild is what this game revolves around so I do agree with u on the part where if ur not in one of the top guilds on ur server, ur gonna have a dull time

So going from green to purple gear using the lithograph book will increase your characters combat score obviously so that in it's self will get your character nearer end game which is 3500 combat score and I'm pretty sure you never even mentioned the lithograph book

I don't like the fight system with auto attacks too fast and too strong. New World the best fight gameplay for me.
In which MMORPG does you gear not set you ahead of other people? Using that as an argument against the game is just stupid, since thats the case in all level and gearing focused MMORPGs...
On other aspects I can agree with you, even tho I have a different opinion, e.g. I totally love that this game is not giving me shit loads of equipp drops I have to salvage cuz they are crap.. I don't want to play an arpg looter like diablo, poe etc., I want to play an MMORPG like Lineage2 (which I have played for 10 years)... I would love tho, if they would change the crafting... gathering alot of ressources, recipes etc. to craft you whished item is just much more rewarding... the gathering and crafting they have now kinda sucks^^
Gear does put you ahead but it's not the same ratio as skill in every game. And it's hard to quantify. In New World you can beat some people naked if you are good enough, I doubt that's possible in TL. I'm happy if people like it

And without any armor you wont kill anyone in nw that is remotely skilled and geared while being naked (even if you have your weapon)… and killing a complete low level noob with just a weapon is possible in tl too

This game may be too much mmo for you, did you play Archeage? The gear upgrade system is way easier then Archeage yet a lot of the creative freedom in mixing weapons/class building which made that game great is here. Also there is a lot to learn and familiarise, for example there is a setting to disable the auto facing which you haven't found yet. There are an incredible amount of settings to make the game more customised to your playstyle. The p2w doesn't seem to be too extreme, more like p2progress which exists in GW2, WoW and New World. Will it become as hard to compete as Archeage became.. not sure, only time will tell, but I suppose we can't be 1 shot questing or afk in our houses so can't be that bad.

I rememberd when I leveled up in NW, my friend just had to give me enough gold. to buy off the items that the board quests asked because it was faster. what an amazing way off leveling that was , just staying in trade post till max level lol
If you didn't finish the main story, you didn't try the game. It's an MMO. The game is the endgame. Which you did not get to. Fair enough if the games not for you but I'm tired of these "content creators" acting like the experts of a game they didn't actually play for more than 5 minutes. The MSQ take like 6-7 hour to complete. I've seen streamers put more time than that into a single League or OW session. Just admit to the fact that you posted a clickbait video where you didn't have any clue what you were talking about and then when people got mad about it, you put your tail between your legs and tried to walk it back.

I play it along with Embers Adrift and WoW and have just done a mansplaining video of it on my channel.
I give it 8/10.
Will provide feedback on your concerns in a minute mate.
- I agree that casuals should not spend a cent and avoid the early access servers.
- I played Lineage2 before it became PTW and drop rates were the same as here.
- Lineage 2 crafting was important, as it is here.
- T&L fishing is awesome.
- Map hit to left mouse, map Parry to right mouse, map the main menu to a mouse button on the side of your mouse.
**The Singapore etc regions can play now (they recently changed this)
My 2 issues with the game:
- On the KR, Singapore etc servers there is currently no English voice acting, this is a huge turnoff as it was very important in Open Beta.
- You need to map a key to swap weapon for your default attacks (I use X), I would like the option to swap default weapon automatically based on the last skill you used. eg use your bow, use default bow attacks, use a melee attack, default weapon automatically swaps to the melee weapon.
Hence 8/10.
I'll continue to play on the Elowen Singapore server until the Amazon release and will level my Guild "One and All".

The issue I felt is We got rid of the auto Combat that was in the Game. Me: The Auto Combat was Down to the Core of the Game wasn't it. Developers: Shhh We got rid of it. No you made it so it will not Auto do it but it will Always be There. This is why your always Facing the Mob because to simple Cut the Cord Doesn't mean it's not there. It's There Just that they made it so the Player Character knows it's there but will do as the player wants. If they decided to put it back in it would take a Sec and we are suppose to fight it. To get rid of it Complexly they would need to make another Game from Scratch.

Why is it that everyone cries about pay to win. When did you last put gas in your car? Would you mow lawns for 50 hours with RNG nickel drops, so you can gather 2,000 nickels for a $100 full tank of gas? Nope. You make money somewhere else that expedites progress.
Yes, being able to earn everything by playing is awesome - except when it's a grind just to be a grind.
Personally, I prefer what PoE does. Awesome looing MTX so my characters have style and what Warframe does with Primes.

I don’t understand how you saying you didn’t like it very much as a bad take. When many people felt the same way even in Korea. You even said people should try the game out before making a decision for themselves and yet some people think you are trying to trash the game, it’s p2w and is guild pvp heavy (which is a niche in itself) with some what clunky combat. I will still try again to play it on release but you can’t deny those aspects even people who like the game agree with that.
What happens is that people want to defend their game that they enjoyed so that more people will play it and it won't die. I've never seen someone who likes the game rate the combat more than a 7 and even then people who like it don't rate it that highly. I think mmo desperation is causing mmo craziness

@@coreymj78 I just don't like the game.... It's gone through various iterations but the more I played the less I liked it...I think the lesson is not to be too excited until I know I will like it, otherwise it creates this kind of whiplash.

It's fine to have that opinion but you should elaborate as to why in a coherent manner. Not even talking about just you specifically, it's like every other youtuber is just repeating what the other said for clicks and none of them have a real critique of combat.

Trust me I've spent a long time thinking about it, I've been not happy with it for a long time....if you had seen my stream you would know I have tried and voiced my issues a long time ago. And is entirely independent from anyone else, I've been trying Tl since it had auto play!
Best I can explain is the movement during the combat and how it doesn't face the way I want it to face, also how sometimes my character slows and stops for abilities which feel like it should slow and stop me, there appears to be movement inertia which I think makes it a little awkward. I completely get the vagueness not being transparent but I assure you, I don't think most people are being malicious, it's just complicated.
Ask me how gravity works and I'd give you a similar vague answer, I think it's just complicated.
@greenfroggood2392 the main issue the combat is bad stems from 2 things unresponsive Ness and if you play melee range is to short that even backpedaling away at all breaks combat flow which is terrible.

Dude, i ve spent hours to look in the items which I will need, assuming there will be new added too tho , and all I saw and trued in the beta, is Farming low % drop mobs and bosses. Items I need can ONLY drop, not ven tradable WHEN drop.... As it should be. So why you are all crying for a free to play game, that it has some pay to CONVENIENCE only aspect. So what? Do you think, that like you and your colleagues, all the other players have all day and night free for gaming? I played Korean version, beta version, streamed it, etc. I've played TL more than most (except the hardcore KR server enjoyers).
I know some of it is design choice, I just think the design choices suck If you have an specific accurate corrections that are fair, let me hear them.

im not saying u are not allowed to critic a game but man... u come from new world. i was part of that journey... you blame things in TL that make me think: how on earth could u EVER enjoy new world....blaming everything on the "p2w" aspect, if u could even call that, is in my opinion wrong too. its not more p2w than new world and u 100% are aware of that. real money transfers to buy gear is a HUGE thing in every mmo, but now we blame TL because its just allowed publicy? also, keep in mind that the best gear is BOP and comes from CONTENT.

Soo hearing the video, it sound like every aspect of the game that has been added for PvE and Solo Player you enjoyed and the parts that this game is all about (Guild Oriented, Large Scale PvP and "Difficult" gear progression) are the things you dislike and call issues. Don't take it the wrong way but I think it's more of a you issue (Meaning that it's not a game for you) rather than real Throne & Liberty issues.
No. I was trying to be generous, at almost no point did I have fun. The pve is okay. The gearing is obvious pay to win bait rather rather than fun. The finest at best is average. Whilst everything is subjective this won't hurt be a me thing...I didn't try the guild stuff because I know it's not for me but my point is, I don't think many people will like that either

I loved the beta LOVED it I don't see it as pay to win at all my issue lays in everyone shouting pay to win at the slightest mention of a store or buying and selling items my opinion remains that if you don't want to do it you don't need too so don't see the issue
It's cross platform, beta was a huge success, I very much enjoyed it, and cannot wait to play and support the makers of the game people so they can keep improving and expanding the game see you all very soon in throne and liberty

Just try nontarget combat you will feel the difference))) Why I love NCsoft is because they do awesome combat system just search and watch Blade and Soul pvp arena (their best game with the best non-target combat system in any mmorpgs ever done yet still) NCsoft do extremely good combat system focused on pvp and amazing mechanics with evasions and resistance in real time which means you have to use skills to move your character to do real evade or resist instead of just having these effects while you don't move and just press your mouse on target and click skills. Nope you have to feel it, feel the combat, like you are really trying to evade all attacks by moving your character with skills. I'm telling you just watch blade and soul gameplay pvp or pve and then try non-target combat system in this new Throne and Liberty and you will get it

The biggest issue is the combat. Combat is the most important aspect of most MMOs and in TL It just feels extremely rough and bad. Probably the worst Tab Target Combat I‘ve ever seen.

@@zSkinzy It's not about the abilities though. It's about how the core fundamental movement and combat system feels. You can easily tell that they had 0 movement in their old combat system and just bandaid fixed it. It feels stiff, not fluid and overall just not satisfying at all. And based on the Open Beta, a ton of people feel the same way about it.

This isn't meant to be personal critique, but you said like months ago you didn't like tab target combat and wanted the game to be action combat and if I remember solely on that you where disinterested. So of course you don't like the combat even with it's improvements. No amount of changes they could make to a tab target system would make you enjoy it. So I guess I don't see a point in covering it as a topic/point of criticism. I'd value the opinion/critique of someone who likes tab target combat much more. I feel like this is just bandwagon hating on a game when the devs seem to be actually trying to fix the game and likely having to fight suites trying to ruin it with a bottom line. Just my opinion.
It's true that I am an action combat Andy but oddly, Tarisland showed me I can tolerate tab target if it's decent enough.
Throne for my taste is just below what I would accept for me.
As for band wagoning, I've been literally covering this game since before it came out, some footage I used of autoplay comes from May 2023. My oldest video on it is like 2 years ago or more.
Trust me, if I liked this game, I would make way more money from guides that I had planned (I even worked on some already but am canning them).
NCSoft have made massive positive changes, but this is my heartfelt truthful thoughts.....also not sure whose thoughts you think I am bandwagoning on, but I had these thoughts for awhile now but I waited till the global low ping test to be sure how I truly felt.

Well let be honest those kind of games you most of the time dont Play for the story,yes there are exceptions like FF 14,GW 2 (Somekind) or Secred World but that it.
You dont play BDO,Monster Hunter, Warframe,TFD,Desteny,The Division for the story,if it has a good story it is a bonus but thats it,or other MMORPGs.

I'm actually disappointed about the title and the video in general. I followed your channel cause i like the way you were hyped for TL before its release. I agree the game wasn't perfect and that good at launch but how in the world we can say negative things about a company that changed that much the game to satisfy its audience. They actually and tremendously fixed the game in many many points. Let's be honest this is the MMO to play. it's visualy amazing. whoever like PVP there is nothing better yet. if you talking about PVE, its not the best but the game has 9 months and has improved a lot in PVE. Also, the progression is super good, the endgame is endless and before you get to the real endgame they will probably add even more things to do. Easy MMos are not real and good MMos. Also let's say that the main issue in this game and it's real; is that the game without a guild or a good guild, it takes way more time to get to the end game and that's an issue. Other than that the Game is actually pretty good. I played the CBT and OBT and KR servers and i'm still super hyped for the west release. Obviously not everyone taste for people who don't like PVP. But you get a PVE guild and you re good to go. You'll still enjoy the game graphically and the world is just crazy. Also, the story is by far one of the best of every MMos. The only one who can beat that is maybe FF or ESO but other than that it's pretty fun and enjoyable. Not Too sure why most of youtubers made this MMo looks that bad ? i'm a completely free to play player and played with big PVP events without being the best but not the worse and i actually enjoyed it. Videos out there should be more positive than negative simply because it's been a long time we didn't see a good MMo and it is a good one !

The combat in TL is good for people who play MMOs and aren't looking to just left click opponents to death; it requires coordination and an understanding of ability rotation.
No one wants to just left click, in some fights in TL you can just auto attack a mob to death, both are bad if you only look at the bad

The games “pay2win” is only early game while leveling, you cannot buy any end game gear or high tier loot items or mats for upgrades. I respect your opinion on not liking the systems of the game but we also have our opinion in my personal experience I had a ton of fun more than I did when I first started playing new world. Jay with all respect, what you want is a singleplayer RPG where real life players fill in the NPC slots of your party so that you can do all the content in the game. Dismissing the guild system and criticizing the games emphasis on group play is very strange for an MMORPG. The MMO part is not meant to just make you feel like others are also playing the game, you are meant to interact with those players. You are looking for a co-op RPG not an MMORPG.

That is not a problem, it's a lie and actually would be a good thing, becuase combat in real life is clunky and turn based combat is amazing. Your taste or lack if IQ does not mean quality. WoW combat looks estupid, it might be good for a 6 year old, but it's stupid. Real world combat is not like WoW, not like Souls like game or BDO either. Everything else is a matter of preference. Clunky means nothing, fluid means nothing, those are characteristics, not definitions of quality.

You are right that's mostly what quests are but there's very little variety, but you can do like little mini games, Tarisland was quite good for that. I don't think the questing is a deal breaker, just a small note.
U get way more gear from open world dungeons, and you can trade them for free within your guild.
