Just to set the record straight. The original performance of Riverdance in the 1994 Eurovision Song Contest was performed in the Green Glens Arena in Millstreet, County Cork, not in Dublin.I have noticed that the videos that wrongfully claim Dublin as the origin have the add comments box disabled. Peculiar that, isn't it?
@@gg2643 the original piece (not the full production) was performed during Eurovision Song Contest production in Cork in 1994. As I remember, the full production was inspired by that piece.
Eurovision was held in Cork in 1993 at Millstreet and won by Niamh Kavanagh. It was held in Dublin 1994 and won again by Ireland. Riverdance was performed prior to the voting results. I know as we watched it on the telly. Saw Riverdance myself there the following year. Magical
