I think it comes down to if Legend wants to pursue a losing battle. Shin will eventually get to the point that it can easily overtake Legend, and we have to wonder if Legend will accept this and move on or fight to the death. As you said, Shin is more like an animal so it's unlikely it will target Legend out of revenge or pride or whatnot, so in my mind it ends as either a Shin victory or a total stalemate.

Nah nah nah legendary would win easily.
Shing odzilla' fuels its evolution using radiation. its why that it stops evolving and is defeated when its forced to stop its biology to survive.
Essentailly in its normal state shin godzilla would just be freely rdaioactive, something godzilla can take advantage of by absorbing its radiation which would retard its self evolution and, ultimately, would lead to it being killed unless shin godzilla adapts by isolating its radiation levels and storing it.
This would sitll completely retard the evolutionary process though and legendary godzilla would overcome him and kill him, likely devouring his radiation afterwards.
This would ultimately kill shin godzilla as legendary would make the remaining flesh unable to metabolize and generate radiation, make it unable t ocontinue t oevolve, and thus just die for good.

I find it interesting how these two are exact opposites of each other. The Legendary Godzilla is the guardian of the Earth, he keeps the planet stable and prevents creatures that would generate overpopulation like the MUTOS from wiping out the planet, of course very much for his own survival, and he can eventually decide that humanity is a threat and to destroy for the good of the planet. Meanwhile the Shin Godzilla is an abomination created by humanity that will not stop evolving and growing, it will keep evolving, when it is broken it will multiply and will not stop until it has nothing more to be destroyed, creating an overpopulation of monsters that would end everything and maybe even themselves.

The thing is, while we DON'T know what Shin Godzilla would evolve into to counter Legendary Godzilla, we DO know that Legendary Godzilla is absurdly intelligent and a very good tactician in battle, which can make all the difference here. SUPPOSING he observes that Shin Godzilla tends to overheat after deploying its nuclear beams and has to shut down for a while and supposing he observes Shin Godzilla's extreme regenerative abilities, it stands to reason that Legendary Godzilla would figure out exactly what we realized: that the only way to KILL it is to destroy the entire thing in one go. That being the case, Legendary Godzilla would be capable of finding a way to accomplish that. Let's remember that Shin Godzilla is NOT invincible to damage from heat or weapons - he adapts to them but the answer to missile attacks that penetrated and hurt it was to fire beams that knocked the drones out of the sky, NOT to become better armored, so it stands to reason that its answer to Legendary Godzilla's relentless and brutal pummeling would MOST LIKELY be similar - to develop more countermeasures to try to keep him at bay. This is not an intelligent creature - in fact it's really pretty mindless - so it's playing go fish while Legendary Godzilla is playing advanced chess.
NOW, we do know that Legendary Godzilla has the ability to VERY rapidly absorb enormous amounts of radiation which can 1. allow him to regenerate faster, 2. Allow him to GROW in size and strength (as seen in King of the Monsters) and 3. Allow him to CHANNEL that power to attack with a nuclear pulse. Note that Mothra's sacrifice is NOT needed to use the pulse - the only thing THAT did was to STABILIZE Godzilla as his nuclear core was going crazy and going into meltdown state (we don't actually know for sure if Godzilla would have actually been killed if meltdown had occurred, however). HOWEVER if you ARE taking Shin Godzilla into consideration AFTER the adaptation that allowed him to fire beams from the dorsal plates and tail, then you ALSO have to use Legendary Godzilla AFTER the Mothra sacrifice just to make sure you're using the strongest CURRENT form for each.
Godzilla CAN at that point absorb MORE radiation, grow further AND use nuclear pulse. It need not be from an atomic bomb - that's more of a jump start to a car - the only REASON the nuke became a problem was because he absorbed ALL of that point blank AFTER having had the oxygen destroyer used on him which had effectively sapped his body of its normal ability to tolerate such things (after all, in 1954 humanity dropped a massive nuke on Legendary Godzilla very nearby to him and it did NOT kill him at all OR make him go nuclear critical - the Castle Bravo nuke would CERTAINLY have had a bigger yield than the tiny one used at point blank in King of the Monsters) - had he NOT just taken the Oxygen Destroyer to the face (which had KILLED Godzilla in the original 1954 film, proving how much more sturdy this version is) he wouldn't have NEEDED Mothra's sacrifice to absorb the nuclear radiation from the bomb without going into critical mode.
What this MEANS is that Godzilla can observe Shin Godzilla's regeneration and adaptive abilities, use that intelligent mind of his and quickly work out that it is imperative that he destroys the ENTIRE thing NOW rather than let the battle drag on. Legendary Godzilla CAN use the pulse - and what's more, since he ABSORBS radiation and uses it as fuel, that ALSO means he can absorb Shin Godzilla's radiation - possibly directly from the nuclear beam which IS condensed nuclear plasma.
That leaves the question: can Legendary Godzilla emit enough destructive heat energy with is pulse to DESTROY the body of Shin Godzilla entirely? Honestly? Probably. He destroyed King Ghidorah (aside from one head, and keep in mind he would learn from this experience to destroy EVERYTHING next time) using the pulse and if you watch that scene, he is emitting SO MUCH heat while in that "burning godzilla" state that solid steel structures some distance away are MELTING as if someone were holding a 2,000 degree blowtorch to a stick of butter. That indicates - in order to melt that rapidly - that Legendary Godzilla is capable of emitting heat that reaches into the millions of degrees - we're talking the temperature you'd expect in parts of the SUN in order to melt steel from that distance that QUICKLY just by being in the general area. Shin Godzilla's skin is tough but NOTHING organic is going to survive that kind of heat, which is precisely what happened with Ghidorah - he literally just evaporated away right before your eyes DESPITE having been proven to be able to easily withstand the most powerful weapons humanity had to offer with NO damage whatsoever.
If Legendary Godzilla were dumber he might give Shin enough time and enough chances to evolve into something he couldn't beat, but this version of Godzilla is human-like in its intelligence. He even CHUCKLED when he hit Kong with his beam and saw him fall - which demonstrates that there is a calculating and pretty vicious mind in there. Not only that, he INSTANTLY recognized that Kong's axe was made from a Godzilla dorsal plate, could absorb energy and deal more damage after only seeing it used against him ONCE - and in the middle of battle realized he could arm Kong to defeat Mechagodzilla by hitting that axe head with his beam. This demonstrates the ability to plan ahead and execute strategic moves in battle in a way many HUMANS wouldn't be able to. If he can figure that out that quickly, he can definitely figure out the way in which he needs to defeat Shin Godzilla to make his death permanent after only seeing him regenerate/ evolve once, twice at most. I don't think one or two evolutions would be enough for Shin to become completely immune to Legendary's power so....I'd give the battle to him. a massive factor overlooked is stamina, LG has shown to have quite an impressive amount of stamina as seen in his final fight between Kong and Mecha-Godzilla. He can be seen starting the fight at night and it all ending by morning meaning that he would've been fighting for several hours (and this isn't even taking into account the damage he took or how he had to fight two opponents back to back.) Where as Shin was seen going dormant after using his atomic breath a lot which would mean that its mentality isn't to fight smart but to just throw whatever it can at its foe, and based on LG stats alone it would most likely throw everything it has at him since it wouldn't be effective up close. Lastly I believe the moment Shin uses all its energy and goes dormant one of two things would happen. 1. LG would thing its dead and leave or it would sense that it is still alive and attack until nothing is left.
Quick side note, i noticed that people kept bringing up the fact that LG would absorb the radiation coming from Shin, so if it were to go dormant to regenerate its atomic energy, would having LG close by slow down that process or even halt it all together.
Last note This was posted before I watched the rematch video

The thing is shin doesn't have a fight mentality. It's doing what it can to defend itself while being in constant excruciating pain. Even using its atomic breath puts it in a lot of pain. The whole point of shin is he is evolving so fast that his body is tearing itself apart faster than he can heal, hence the constant pain.

The one thing I would mention in the match-up is Shin's inherent handicap, he is more based in reality than Legendary is. Even in the film they state that it shouldn't be able to leave the water due to it's size and crush under it's own weight, but due to it's unique makeup, some part of it's physiology gets around this. It's movement even alludes to this; slow, plodding, and deliberate. All of it's attacks are therefore also highly effective, nothing is wasted. The phase array also lends to this idea. Legendary is really given all the leeway in what he does, similar to how Godzilla normally would be. He is a combatant and a brawler, and is also already King of Monsters.

I’m actually not too sure how Legendary would react in regarded to Shins supposed defiance, since unlike Ghidorah or Kong who actively challenged him to the end, Shin is relatively, … unresponsive. Assuming after the end of phase 1 we get a scene similar to in GvK where Legendary is attempting to establish dominance once more, it would probably go similar to what happened vs Kong since even though Shin would likely be unresponsive, Legendary might consider this to be enough since Shin isn’t in a position to fight him again immediatly. But if Shin isn’t completely depleted in this state and attempts to fire while downed then Legendary might just turn around and blast it full force. So really I think this depends a lot of how the fight starts off and how depleted Shin ends up in the very likely scenario it is physically overpowered initially.

Shin's evolution is fueled by the atomic reaction that's constantly going on inside it, Legendary feeds on radiation and regenerates faster while feeding, making Shin essentially an all you can eat buffet for Legendary, that alone gives the edge to Legendary, as he would be able to siphon off radiation to both slow/halt regeneration and prevent further evolution.

Also, if I remembered correctly, in the initial sketch of Shin Godzilla, one of it future (ultimate?) form, Shin would have an entire galaxy or universe growing inside it to use as energy (this is from the guy who made Evangelion after all). Hence the "Shin = New/True/God" in Shin Godzilla.
So I would say that if Legendary don't beat him in one or two rounds then it basically GG, since Shin would keep scaling in power level until he become an actual God.

Remember in the fight against MechaGodzilla, the A-74 Proton Scream hurt LG and even overpowered LG's own atomic breath (Albeit, this was a weakened LG). If Shin's beam is more powerful than that, LG would very well die after tanking the heat and power of it for a short duration. LG only feeds off/absorbs radiation, but if concentrated enough, it can still hurt him.
Now Shin also shuts down after using his beam(s) and can also only use them for a few seconds. If LG can survive the initial damage, there is now a stationary hyper-nuclear Shin standing right in front of him. LG would sense that Shin is still alive and he wouldn't walk away but continue his attack. In the case of that scenario, that's the only way I could see LG absorbing a meaningful amount of radiation from Shin.
LG goes thermonuclear after that, and atomic pulses Shin to ash.

@@BiggieJ4224 That's now how Shin's evolution works, though. It doesn't evolve when it wants. Shin evolves and changes based on interactions between it and the environment; on cause and effect. It doesn't go ''I'm fighting a kaiju? I choose to become a god and win instantly''. It goes more like ''What the fuck is that? OH, it bit me... That hurts. I should get thicker skin so it doesn't hurt me with it's teeth again... '' and it does that for everything. It takes a bit of time for it to evolve and adapt, and it needs to interact with stuff to do so. It's not nearly as instant as you might think. It doesn't go god mode when it wants; in fact, it can't. As ridiculous as Shin is, there is SOME form of realism or science attached to the way it evolves. There’s no “or shin evolving to a point legend can’t beat it” Goji center has already established that godzilla would definitely win the initial fight against shin and would be injured after it.
these 3 scenarios are very likely to happen after the battle.
      1. Godzilla is injured and decides to feed off of shin Godzilla’s insane amount of radiation, which heals his wound, powers him up, and possibly could turn him into burning Godzilla which he would incinerate shin Godzilla if he still sees him as a threat. Either way he’s still gonna melt even if Godzilla doesn’t attack.
      2. Godzilla notices that the creature that he just fought and “killed” is still emitting radiation and biofeedback, he then process’s it as a threat as kaiju’s could be attracted to this area and feed on shin Godzilla which would be bad cause they would be powered up and could possibly defeat Godzilla. Or he notices it that it’s still alive and thinks that it’s a kaiju with regenerative property’s, either way in both situations godzilla blasts him.
      3. Godzilla leaves the body, and other kaiju run towards a meal. Now shin has to fight multiple kaiju as these kaiju see him as a gigantic meal/ source of radiation.

Considering Legendary Goji feeds on Radiation, and Shin creates and maintains radiation as its driving force of energy, literally becoming inert when depleted....
Then once Legendary kills Shin, wouldn't he just feed off the radiation? Its there and free for the taking. And with its energy already low from the battle, Legendary feeding off whatever is left would just leave Shin completely powerless to adapt or regenerate. Killing him for good. As he cannot evolve with his radiation depleted or blocked.
Even if Legendary leaves the battle site, we see in the monsterverse comics that many of the other Titans are VERY opportunistic about sources of radiation. Scylla even briefly challenged Godzilla over a radiation source squabble when she had just submitted to him at the end of KOTM.
After the fight I don't see Shin surviving long enough to power back up enough to evolve further. Whether or not Legendary feeds on Shin's lingering radiation to help heal his own wounds as he used to in his lair, or other titans come and scavenge on him, Shin is likely to become a feeding ground for the Titans.
The Muto's themselves use a very similar method, abet via as a parasite rather than direct predation. And many other Titans have builds that suggest that when their kind were plentiful, predation was a very likely source of radiation intake. Legendary Godzilla is described as an alpha Predator for a reason.

Shins biomass mutates into its own sentient form if separated due to it's "G-cells".
There is a Deleted Scene in Shin where, upon finding a piece of Shins flesh that's been blasted off, they see that it's growing eyes, teeth, and limbs, like a tumorous mass; they ultimately thought this might be too disturbing for people to conceive of as being connected to what they think of as Godzilla and too far removed from the "Godzilla Franchise", so kept the ideas but didn't include the scene. It's pretty damn creepy.
There's actually a ton of cut content from Shin that goes into tons of detail of it's past, biology, and what it was originally intended to become. Given a different scenario, it would've become a Universe unto itself; in the film, it's revealed in the end that Shin starts evolving to mimic and replace Humans as an entire Species based on it's encounters with us. Shin was originally going to be much, much more.... horrifying, to say the least, based on concept art and storyboards.

This is DEFINITELY one of those "depending on the circumstances" battles. Like Goji center said, Legendary wins against 4th form, but what happens next determines the fight.
There IS a fair chance Legendary would opt for total disintegration, since he's fought 2 titans that regenerated as fast if not faster than Shin, and he would know to completely destroy him.
If he doesn't though, Shin's 5th form would likely take on Legendary almost as effectively as Mechagodzilla did in GvK.

But how would LG know that Shin has that level of regeneration is they would be fighting for the first time. Just because LG knows of the ability to recover from biological death doesn't mean he knows that a kaiju he just met has that ability. So unless LG woke up on the wrong side of the bed to stick around to make sure to vaporize every cell of Shin Gojira, which is borderline impossible, a defeated Shin could rise again deadlier than ever for round two.

Personally i think the winner will depend on whether Legendary finishes off Shin's "corpse" down to the cells or not.
Legendary just has too many advantages over Shin: superior Strength, Atomic breath, durability, speed and experience. However, Shin beats Legendary in terms of healing and coupled with adaptation. Pieces of him were threatning to turn into other Godzillas when given time, which was a literal plot point in the movie. Considering Legendary doesn't usually destroy his enemies' corpses and just leaves, it's possible he could make the mistake of not scorchig Shin's mauled body, allowing it to grow and adapt to become something that will come back to bite Legendary's ass.
    .
Conclusion, the winner will completely depend if Legendary destroys or not Shin's body in it's entirety. Unless of course he has Burning form.

Let's be honest here. If we're talking about actual lore and facts the fact is that Shin is evolution incarnate. Meaning if legendary does manage to knock em down, Shin is going to keep evolving to beat his enemy. The humans had to freeze him down to the molecular level just to stop his evolution that would definitely have taken over the world. Look up Shin's evolution video done by MindHQ, you'll see how Shin would have became the most powerful Godzilla in existence.

    • @prayasdash
      @prayasdash Před 2 lety +1

      Yes,
But the main problem is that Shin feeds on nuclear wastes rather than radiation that's why after heavy use of energy it goes into hibernation for almost 2 weeks. But, if Shin would absorb radiation then it wouldn't need to hibernate and those evolutions would make it a very strong Godzilla. If it reaches its 8th or 10th stage then it might be able to defeat even Godzilla Earth.
