    *My creepy theory.*
    I began to wonder why Ripper was so fixated on killing Maisie. Then I looked back on all previous raptor behaviour, then it hit me...Ripper may have imprinted on Maisie.
    Being isolated and caged with very little interaction other than lab experiments, Maisie was unintentionally marked by the raptor as his first real interraction.
    Then I thought of the scene when Owen trained the raptors in the first JW, showed the raptors as wanting to challenge and kill Owen, to assume the mantle of Alpha.
    And I realised a horrifying idea.
    If Ripper imprinted on Maisie then that could mean only one thing...Maisie became his Alpha. As a result, to assume his role as Alpha of the pack, he wanted to kill her.
    Thats why he's so hell bent on ripping her to pieces.

    One thing that I would like to point out. The white spines stand in a more upright position exposing the places where the armor is lacking to any given target. but this weakness is largely neutralized by the raptors size forcing it to take the upper angles where the armor is strongest.

  • @CptFjre
    @CptFjre Před rokem +44

    The white spike would have greater acceleration due to its higher number of contact points with the ground. This advantage would be far more useful in close combat as the distances are shorter so the faster the top speed can be reached, the better. Furthermore The white spike would have a greater rotational acceleration and greater agility due to the higher acceleration.

    My only pick on this is the one big difference I'd say between the 2: mobility and weaponry, more specifically ranged weaponry. Not only is the queen faster because it's smaller, it can deal damage from short and long range, with spikes shown to be able to pierce concrete. This coupled with how the queen is more mobile and seemingly a bit more worried about itself than the drones makes me think it wouldn't just completely ignore one of its main forms of attack and jump to a fistfight. In a scenario where keeping its distance isn't possible, the queen probably looses, but In a scenario where it can keep itself away from the indoraptor, I'd say it would likely win most of the time by slowly eating away at the indoraptor as it adds in new holes.

      @@KevinJohnson-cv2no I'm not sure if you were paying attention, but the white spikes' spikes are not "basically a bullet."
      Inconsistentancies in frame rate make it hard to tell, but the spikes seem to be traveling around 400 feet per second. The standard 9mm is almost three times as fast, and 5.56 can be over six times. Now ballistics penetration is a complex process with many variables that can drastically alter the outcome, but to spare you a long and boring lecture, to the Indoraptor it would be like you getting shot by a nail gun. Sure it hurts like a bitch, but unless they hit a major artery the nails don't have enough penetration to make it through to the vitals.
      Also, the movie compared the white spikes' armor to concrete. The indoraptor is direct successor to indominus rex, whose claws were capable of gouging concrete. Combine with the Indoraptor having a bigger build, denser muscles, longer reach, and better leverage.
      Lol it's like you looked at the explanation they gave you and said "nope, I'm going to ignore all that and only believe what I want to believe."

Not to mention they are highly venomous, and it's stated White Spikes have more than a dozen of these each.
      Imagine using another Dino's strength as a feat for the Indo because you're that desperate to claim a W lol. The difference between the Indominus & Indoraptor is nearly the same gap as between the T-Rex & Velociraptor; using ones feats for the other makes no sense. It's all just conjecture on your part, we have NO penetration feats for the Indo; I highly doubt it's going to be rivalling the penetration power of the 5.56 rounds we saw the White Spike hides shrug off like nothing.
      The Indo's build means nothing because it cannot make use of any of the advantages provided by it. The spikes will fatally penetrate him all the same and kill him from a distance; if he closes in for a 1v1 he doesn't even manage to make a scratch on the White Spikes hide, and gets his neck snapped by the tentacles (IF the tentacles don't just manhandle him, they're capable of flipping humvees into mid-air with a bit of momentum after all).

MH's monsters are, overall, larger than many of the monsters (outside of the Titans, like Godzilla, who'd put Dalamadur down) but lack the specificity and instinctual intelligence of many of these creatures. This one is a good example, the Indo Raptor is likely to punch up into elder dragon territory, just from being at least as smart as the hunters.
      The inverse isn't true, I'd put a team of hunters against even the Titans kinda favorably. Laviente, Dalamadur, Dire Miralis, Kulu-Ya-Ku, hunters aren't human by any means and so punch up exponentially. Maybe not to Godzilla, but pretty high none the less.

      @@Arrowatch
      Deepest apologies for being rude, but that comment was just painful to read.
      Monster Hunter monsters have a record of doing things that are really freaking absurd. From Lavasioth that can survive temperatures of more than 1200°c simply due to living in lava up to Elder Dragons like Teostra that are said to be able to glass entire sections of a whole desert in one night, they're a massive threat to most things.
      The reason MH monsters appear weaker is because of how they and the Hunters are portrayed. The monsters don't die against the Hunters because they're weak, they die because the player Hunters are extremely strong. Reminder that lore-wise, the player Hunter is a complete exception as most Hunters don't get past hunting things like Jaggis which are considered a considerable threat to even high ranking Hunters in a pack.
      Frankly, putting aside Kaiju as very few of the Monster Hunter monsters are actually Kaiju-sized, most of them would probably win most matchups that they're put up against.
      And hell, the Kaiju-sized monsters like the Dalamadur, Zorah Magdaros or Raviente if you're counting Frontier (Dire Miralis and Lao Shan Lung can count too but they're much smaller, barely getting above Gojira 54 in terms of size on two legs) are nothing to scoff at either. Dalamadur can summon meteors and carve mountain chains simply by moving, Raviente can destroy entire islands in less than a single day and Zorah has enough energy stored inside it to destroy an entire continent once it dies (entire reason why you chase it away in Monster Hunter: World) so they'd actually stand up to a number of Kaiju. If I were to throw a wild guess, I'd put those three slightly higher than the average Monsterverse Titan like Behemoth and Methuselah but much lower than the higher tiers like Ghidorah or Gojira as those two are on a completely different level to absolutely everything in the Monsterverse.
      On another note, power isn't the only thing that the MH monsters have either. Because they're clearly not as unintelligent as you're making them out to be. Some like Nargacuga are clearly shown to use predatory tactics that only relatively intelligent animals can do. And that's not even counting Elder Dragons which could almost be considered sentient due to their intelligence in how they interact with the Hunter and their tactics (IE: Namielle using both its water and electricity in conjunction, Alatreon knowing when to switch elements, etc....) This means that you've got monsters that are as intelligent or more intelligent than IRL animals, some even getting into almost sentient territory, with a power potent enough to be on par or stronger with most other fictional monsters of their size and class.
      So yeah, all in all, MH monsters are absolutely not as weak as you're putting them to be and it's needless to say that something like an Indoraptor, as intelligent as it is, would probably get its life ended by monsters such as Tigrex, Rajang, Brachydios, and many more that I'm skipping...

    Actually a really good match. In confined spaces, I'd give it to the White Spike. Having the ability to attach itself to walls and ceilings can give it a large advantage at mobility and ways of attack. But in open terrain, the size really does matter. Larger, stronger, and more durable with little to no weaknesses, the Indoraptor can win based solely on overpowering its victim. With teeth and claws capable of cracking concrete, a single good bite would be enough to end it. Assume it can get that bite off, which is where the mobility factor comes into play.

    • @NoESanity
      @NoESanity Před 2 lety +10

      i'd go the other way. in a confined space the white spike has a little more mobility, but it doesn't really win in any of tiers that would matter in melee combat. if you imagine a confined space as something like a school gym, so ~ 90x90x25 ft, the WS might be able to walk up the walls and onto the ceiling, but the indo could jump that high, as seen by it jumping on top of a 3 story building. and while 90x90 might seem large, when indo raptor was ~25ft long, so the WS would always be at less than 3 body lengths away, which again the indo's speed an agility could easily over come that gap and go for the throat.
      on the other hand in a larger area, say anything more than the distances of a football field, 360ft, once the indo gets in close pretty much the same rules apply, if the WS can't out run the indo, it can't fight back effectivly. however, a barrage of spikes being shot out by the WS will always have the the chance to hit an eye or a weak spot. the longer the distance the more spikes that can be fired and the more chances there are. not to meniton since the queen WS is intelligent, she could possibly start to run, firing behind her. the indo is faster and will catch up, but at a 1mph difference in speed, only about 1.5 feet would be made up per second, so the indo sprinting at the Ws while the WS sprints away spraying and praying, it will take about 4 minutes for the indo to make up the difference of a football field. that is hundreds of spikes being launched at the raptor, which might be enough to wear it down.

    The White Spikes projectiles have been shown in the movie to pierce bullet Proof armour If i remember correctly, so i think even If they might Not be fatal they would still wound and weaken the indoraptor. Plus, the raptors hide is tough but soft, so even If they dont pierce the sheer kinetic force of These large projectiles would be effective If the Queen used them Well.
    Furthermore, even If the Indoraptors claws could Scratch concrete, that doesn't mean that they can pierce the Queens Armour. There is a BIG difference between scrathing and Piercing. Bullets also damage concrete, but they didn't do anything against White Spikes Armour.
    I think, given the intelligence of both creatures, the Queen would keep her distance once she realized her disatvantage in Close quaters, Use her increased Mobility to stay Out of reach of the raptor and probably Use her projectiles to weaken it. Like i Said, even If the projectiles dont penetrante, they would still do damage. If someone shoots you on a bullet Proof vest you dont Walk away unharmed, you would likely still have internal injuries, maybe even broken Bones. Same Idea here

    I'm my opinion the indo raptor could potentially have a easier victory in general, not just due to size comparison. The both are very smart creatures but we saw the indoraptor outsmart it's prey multiple times. Whereas from what I remember of the white spike queen it severely relies on its swarming tendencies. The indoraptor could potentially take out its main problem being the spike shooters on the white spike, ultimately once they're taken out the indoraptor main issue on closing the distance will be taken out. As explained in the video the spikes couldn't peirce the hide of the indoraptor but it would be enough to slow it down due to the raw size of each projectile and the speed it's fired at.

      You need to look up how body armor works. You can shot 5.56 or 7.62 at body armor and the bullet will stop, but use a good bow and arrow and the arrow won't stop. The bullet will break apart in the armor but the arrow won't, same with the spikes. Now for the indoraptor "armor", it took hits from Blue doing a running jump with no damage. I also don't agree with the video saying the white spike has better overall armor when it's throat can be cut by a human with a knife, that won't work on the indo as it has good armor all over it's body. Even a smaller indo would kill a queen spike with ease if it gets a neck bite, remember the indo was able bite the arm of a grown man.

    I just want to mention that the white spikes are shown easily lifting multiple people at a time, with only the strength of the tentacles and not only that, when mentioning the spikes you compared them to regular 5.56 ammo. The spikes were shown to literally have enough stopping power to not only penetrate body armor, but also send a 200+ person flying several feet into a wall with enough force to essentially knock them out. This would mean that the force of the spikes hitting something is just about if not over 10x stronger than 5.56 ammunition out of a rifle, so even if penetration might be lower, this would transfer a huge amount of force into the indoraptors body, causing massive internal damage, now imagine this over 10-20 hits with the queen being highly accurate at all ranges, remember how the indoraptor was killed? a large spike, so we see that something sharp, large, and with enough weight actually was able to pierce the skin. This is similar to the concept of non-newtonian liquids which are great at stopping sudden impacts because they change to solid when introduced to shock, but they will be less effective vs something slower like a knife or something, we even see this in kevlar, some materials are good at stopping fast penetrating things and bad at stopping slower objects, we dont know exactly which type of armor the raptor has, but all armor weakens after enough hits in the same area, and with the indoraptors tendancy to play around too much, I really think the edge goes to the white spike who could do serious damage before even entering, also basically all reptiles have a softer underbelly, we havent actually seen the raptor get attacked on the underbelly, theres a good chance its also softer than the top

    I honestly didnt think the Indoraptor win over the White Spike on this one. I do think the projectile power of the WS was really undervalued. I know the Indoraptor has bulletproof hide, but the WS spikes are penetrating likely kevlar armor AND throwing back 200 pound humans 5 -10 feet when hit. The requires A LOT of force especially with something with a tiny surface area such as a spike.
    I would like to see various fights taking place in different terrain/battlegrounds and doing a "best of 5" in 5 different biomes. In a place like forests, urban areas & mountainous terrain the WS would thrive in its superior mobility and ranged attacks whittling down the Indo. Also the aquatic advantage WS has over Indo in ocean, swamps, marshes to swim & shoot etc. But places with no vertical surfaces or limited line of sight with tall grass where the Indo can stalk, find cover, ambush, etc the Indo has the edge there.

      Raptors have taking many men with body armor. Yet, all of Blues hits did nothing to the indoraptor. A raptor has a weight of 150 kg, it can run 40-60 mph, 150 kg comming at you at 40 mph is 23981 joules ( a .50 bmg is 20000 joules ), it then jumps and hits you with the big claws on it's feet. That spike won't do shit. I'd also say the indo has better overall armor as the indo has good armor all it's body, while a human can cut the WS throat with a knife. The WS best chance is blunt force. The indo just needs a neck bite ( long jaws that can open like a viper, it won't be hard to do ) or a single claw slash on it's throat and it's over.

    Okay but a few things are off that would've given the white spikes the lead. Their projectiles could literally pierce steel, and bulletproof vests. I'm sure they could've pierced the hide especially if shot enough times or in the right direction. Plus Whitespikes have been recorded up to 64km per hour which is faster than the indo raptor. Lastly, their front limbs are more like a praying mantis, and can slice through incredibly thick materials. So that, combined with their more than superior agility, I'm pretty sure they would win. Their jaw also is hardly small enough to make a true difference, so I wouldn't have given the lead to the indo raptor, but that's all my opinions and how I perceived each.

    I feel like the biggest flaw here is that the queen was being used as a comparison. Though she is powerful the other white spikes are literally built different. She’s built to breed and command not to fight. The white spikes she commands front limbs are literal spikes and not hands and can even extend them over their face. So they have a pretty good reach.

    One thing that no one mentions about the indos, is that they have human DNA, not just raptor, human. Not only that, but considering they are larger, their brains are too, people say brain size doesn’t matter, but it does, just not when comparing a species to itself. Humans have the best brain-body ratio of any animal and the indo likely has the same if not better due to the genetic engineering and enhancements it has.

  • @spiritvdc5109
    @spiritvdc5109 Před rokem +36

    I feel like the Whitespikes' projectiles should've been much higher in effectiveness against the Indoraptor, due to sheer momentum transfer - in The Tomorrow War, we see impacts from their projectiles sending people flying, throwing them backward and pinning them to walls. I'd estimate they have the impact momentum of an anti-material rifle, possibly a .50 cal just due to the fact that their targets don't get hit and drop, they get hit and are violently knocked off their feet. Unless they made the Indoraptor resistant to heavy machinegun fire (no, your little semi-auto carbine doesn't count), a Whitespike's projectile should have similar effect, slicing through its hide with considerable knockback. Might not have been enough to turn the verdict, but it would be a consideration.

    • @greg5435
      @greg5435 Před rokem +10

      Yep. When Goji said they wouldn't be effective because you can see 5.56 bouncing off the hide of Indo-raptor I felt like this was more of a feelings over reason comparison. The spikes it launches throw people around and penetrate concrete. They go right through body armor. It's going to penetrate into the hide of Indo-raptor and damage muscle groups and break bones. In a real fight, Female White Spike wouldn't get close to it. As was said, it's intelligent. It's alone, not in a pack. It's going to use terrain to fire spikes at Indo until it feels comfortable to go in. It can climb away and keep using distance until Indo has enough spikes in it that it can't move well. It isn't going to go in alone, especially seeing something bigger than it when it's been genetically created to hunt and kill the things it sees. And being female it's also going to focus on survival as well. It's not just going to charge in and fight. The spikes were underplayed.

And since the indominus Rex could camouflage that probably means that the indoraptor could camouflage as well. The indominus Rex could also lay a trap for its enemies like it did when it went against the non-lethal team. The indominus Rex also had the resolve to rip out a chunk of its own skin to remove a tracking device so obviously it knows how technology works to an extent unless it overheard it but it was to be able to do that.

So I think it does make sense for the Indo to win this cause of his longer neck and bigger mouth, plus the White Spike's weak spots are pretty exposed, at least for a predator who is big and strong enough to grab and hold it. Indo's longer forelimbs also give him an advantage here. I can see the White Spike being able to shake him off but the Indo would likely be able to fatally injure it before it happens.
