The 55 was hit in the rear at some point, and fixed...I wouldn't call it a hack job, it was simply body shop repair techniques of the era...products, methods, and technologies have really improved in the past 70 years. Thanks!!
All the cars in the fab shop are in bare metal, or being torn down prior to going to acid dip...there is nothing to harm with the sparks...but I understand your concern, but we are very conscious of this, we use welding blankets, shields, etc when necessary.
