Video idea...drone footage every couple weeks to see the progression and then put together at the end of the season?
Laura, please don't worry about the videos - they all seem really great to me/us!
Yeah... Each video makes me Happy... I live vicariously through them.
I love how Aaron has become more of a gardener too
yeah, gives me ideas on how to convert my husband. I passed my herb box monitoring system to my hubby ^^
I realized my hubs was hooked when I observed him walking past a Rosemary running his hand along it and sniffing his hand afterward. He has developed a passion for vegetable gardening. His philosophy is p, if you canât eat it, why grow it. I do foodscaping. I mix fruit trees, blueberry bushes, fig trees, grape vines etc. among my flower beds.
Wide paths! You'll have a little hand on either side of you, too!!!!
Ohh so sweet! I can wait to see them together, all 4. đđâ€ïž
excellent idea!! also trikes and wagons!
No no no donât use backdrops. I love seeing whatever is around you in the background when youâre on camera.
Completely agree!!
I agree!
Yes, no backdrops, you know Russel will be playing with them anyway. đč
Aaron is so respectful
Glad you are taking Sundays off. You both are so productive but it is important to have a day for you and the family. I would hate for you to get burnout.
Aaron :"You're right, you're right." Laura: "I know"đ
Pssst! Aaron, I have my antique black baby grand Steinway for sale. It was my momâs and then mine, so really 2 owners. I even had to wipe the keys with milk as one of my chores when I was little. It needs a happy home since I donât have space at my new house. Just sayinâđčđŒ (love all you do, thanks for being so inspirational)
DO IT AARON!!!!!
"Your plants always creep into the walkway" LOL Aaron is too funny.
"You gotta be vibin'." Haha. It's gems like that that make me appreciate when Aaron is miced up.
I love that you're strict on the amount of airtime you give your kids... They need to be kids still and enjoy life off camera.
Suggestion on the walkway design. Outline it with hose and then take the drone up to see how you like it.
I heard that beer can take off the hard water. I haven't tried this method. So maybe try on that brick pathway.
I love how you and Aaron are on the same page on enjoying your day.
that is brilliant!!!!
Not posting a video on Sunday shouldnât be a requirement. My gosh nobody should have to work 7 days a week. Love what you do.
Haha! Whoâs watching the kids? Thatâs funny. Yâall have a million grandparents who feel connected with your kids. And of course we know Benjamin isnât alone watching Samantha Grace. We love yâall. đ„°
It's definitely okay to take Sundays off. We don't want you two to burn out. Love everything you do.
Congratulations on your upcoming 1-5 anniversary ..... I can't even begin to remember my 15th such a long time ago .... we will be celebrating our 5-1 on June 19 ...... I just love seeing and hearing the two of you together ..... Thanks for sharing a small part of your life with all of us ..... Hugs ..... !!!
I cant wait to see the gazebo gone and greenhouse going up. Love you all and your videos are the highlight of my day GOOD SOULS. BLESSED BE
Gee, I just figured you left the kids with one of the cats. đž
Haha, right?
Good one ! đ
Like who would question where their children are? So silly. Of course they're somewhere safe. đč
LOL!!! đđđ
Thatâs hilarious đ
Lauraâs look to camera after âI think 10 trees is not enoughâ !!!
Oh I love that Aaron sits in on the recaps. You both crack me up. 90%...no maybe 75%. Thank you for the chuckles and just being you!
I love watching your videos! I started watching when I lived in Burns, OR, between 2012-2018. I would drive through Ontario often on my way to Boise or to visit family in Montana. I stopped at Andrews to browse and buy plants several times over the years. --- I moved back to Montana in 2018 and now, when I watch your videos, I feel nostalgic! (=
I am 2 hours west of Burns. Best kitchen store ever in Burns!
I love your background. Donât change itâŁïž
Love the back and forth conversation between Aaron and you.đ€đđ€
You both are so fun! I enjoy watching you interact with each other. đ
Designing a house is a lifetime project especially if you like antiques or custom pieces. Each peace is magical find.
For anyone wondering about the Jane Austen books: they are part of the Penguin Clothbound Classics collection. I think they are available on Amazon
Laura. For years I have watched your videos and have gained so much knowledge and wisdom in my gardening routine and in gardening in general. Your videos have evolved into something that I cant live without. I love when you share ideas with cooking, crafting, home decor and so much more. You are like the new refreshed version of Martha Stewart. But with an amazing personality, Humor and a down to earth humble personality. You and Arron make an amazing team. And i love the ideas Arron gives on the technical side of things. Never change. And always let the sun warm your backs and always allow the smells of gardening fill your souls. Much Love. Benji
Thatâs such a lovely and heart felt comment.
Use the drone overhead once the arbor and items are removed. Maybe lay a a tarp etc to represent walk ways. May help you to visualize đ
That's a great idea
Very good idea!
"Cooking with grease"...I thought only us southerners said stuff like that đ. Made me smile đ
just saying... IM GONNA HAVE FUN THIS YEAR!!!! Yayyy to all your projects. Loving all the videos and your work.
I love your recap videos! You just come across as so down to earth and ârealâ. There is nothing phony about you and itâs so enjoyable to watch you and Aaron bounce ideas off of each other. Canât wait to see everything youâre planning come together this year!
I say this every time we see your Mom...â I want your Momâ!
Piano for 15 year anniversary was really fun!
I love the shopping/antiquing videos you do with your mom and your sister. I love the relationship that you guys share. It's quite special. Wish you'd post more of those.
Do a over head shot with the drone seeing you have a clear view cause of it being winter. Then you can put it on the computer and play with the walkways and see what looks best.
Every single video you have done is perfect!!!!
Thanks for all the trouble we put you through with all the questions âșïž
Itâs helpful to use garden hoses to outline different walkway ideas. Lay out one for each edge of the potential walkway, stand back and see how it looks.
Laura , you should do like your Mom with her " birthday is coming up " and say to Aaron " our anniversary is coming up ! " Lol - Yay for a baby grand piano !!!
Great video loved it. Yes take the weekends off. Thank you so very much for sharing.đšđŠđšđŠđšđŠ
Love it! 15 is the piano anniversary.
As a kid in MI i remember Mom sending me out with a broom to beat the snow off the bushes.
âDo not let perfection be the enemy of progressâ. I laughed listening to your mantle pick apart....I once re-
decorated the Christmas tree 3 times. It was in a lounge in college dormitory-nobody gave a rip but it killed me because it didnât meet standards. đ
That sticker shock store is for what my friend used to call âwindow licking..â đ€Ł
Fruit trees are a lot of work. They have the potential to get a plethora of disease, so spraying is really needed if you want decent fruit. My husband was an orchardist for many years and pruning is also very important so that you control the size of fruit and health of the tree. I have asked my husband to plant a few fruit trees and he told me nope...and he rarely says no to any plant or tree.
I agree, they are a lot of work! I have 6 fruit trees and my husband wishes I had none.
Great highlights video I love the give and take between you and Aaron talking about different kinds of plans and all the pros and cons. it's nice when it's open for discussion and doesn't become a power struggle!
We love to see you so much! But your health and wellness are always important! Thank you and Aaron for the high quality, interesting content on your channel! God bless you all so much. We love love you! Norma (from Florida)
Talked to my kindergarten granddaughter via FaceTime at lunch today. She asked me what I was going to do this afternoon. I told her I might straighten up a portion of the garage. Her suggestion was to watch a couple of the gardening YT videos because I really like them( that would be Laura) and then do some of the garage. Aww đ„°
am excited to watch your plans come together. Happy for you you both have great taste
Southern Living recommends 4' walkway for a comfortable stroll for two; 5 ' for extra measure. Add 1' on each side for Laura's creeping borders (good call, Aaron!) and you've got 6 to 7' walkway. Can't wait to see it all develop.
Thank you for all you do to enlighten us with the love of gardening. Love your pbotos of Samantha Grace and big brother. Would love to receive the book on Dalias. Looki g forward to following your instructions to prepare dalias for spring planting.
It is good for us to see your process like on the mantle project. And it is your home. Make it how YOU like it. It looked lovely in the end. No disasters involved. :)
15 year anniversary? You guys are just babies! đ„°đ„°
Hahahaha Lauraâs face when he said it will just be a mess! Not acceptable đ
One of your most adorable vids are ones you explain y'all made some mistakes are human like all of us.
I love hearing the process. How you guys debate on what type of water etc. You guys work so well together! #teamworkmakesthedreamwork
We just bought the Sony Zv1 and it is amazing for vlogging, the auto focus is incredible and the natural light is amazing we are so happy with it xxx
I always made sure I made lots of noise while my kids were babies and sleeping so they became really good sleepers for naps and nighttime.
I hope you are able to get a piano soon. I saved up for years and bought myself a baby grand for my 40th birthday. Best gift ever!
Love the recap videos and always drawn to that beautiful, black terracotta pot towards the back by the lemon tree, I added my first little cypress to my porch at Christmas time and promptly killed itđ but I just love seeing yours so much that will definitely try again and most definitely adding one of the pink lemon trees this year since my meyer did so well for me.. Thank you so much for all the wisdom and inspiration you bring everydayđżđđż
Aaron âits one of those things I just went outside and did itâ... Lauraâs facial reaction to this comment is classic... especially after saying âAaron, you have to slow down, we need to film thisâ.. HAHAHAHAAHA Love you guys!!
We have always created paths wide enough for two people walking side by side comfortably. I love your road trip antiquing with your mom.
'A disastrous process' had me laughing out loud.... That is so me! I love all your videos but I really look forward to these recap videos. I love the bouncing back and forth with ideas ,etc.đ
Hahahahah, first time I ask a question and you have it on highlights, I was so excited I kept going back to it, is that weird, love everything you are doing, so yes we do want to see all guys
Look so forward to all your videos. đ
I love your videos!!! You talked about people staying on the road, people drive through my yard a lot!!!
My daughter is at the Antique Mall now because I told her about your visits there!
A monthly antiquing video would be wonderful.
Good for you. Stick at the pace your body and your family need right now...let people have patience or learn patience
So cool and love the responses. Enjoy your day.
Love the way you two discuss things if that was my husband and I we would be tearing each others hair out !!!!!! Your lovely â€
Enjoyed this answer question . Love to go antique with you and your Ma ,glad to see you get out for the day. Wonder does Arron go do a day with his Dad . Or hobby ..? Such a nice guy . Donât till him his head will swell.đđ love you guysâ€ïž
"That is the anniversary for pianos". too funny. It was fun to be part of your planning session too! I love to plan what to do in my gardens. Now's the time! You can really see things. In winter, I love to sew and quilt, so I'm doing a lot of that now, then my sewing machine gathers dust as spring and summer roll around. I'm hoping this year to make time in the spring and summer to do more quilting, until it gets too hot in my sewing room.
I just love you guyâs!!! Too cute the discussion with the piano. âșïž
So much exciting stuff going on! I for one am beyond excited for the coming spring videos! Canât wait for new and interesting changes at your property. I need inspiration, it looks like we maybe hosting one of my sons weddings here on our 22 acres!đł
Very nice. Love these chats
You will do fine with all your projects! Most gardeners I know work 40-50 hours a week and come home and we put that amount of time in to the yards and gardens! You just need good weather and will be more excited especially when plants start greening up!đ
An answer to my Garden Prayers!
You read my question!!! Omg Iâm so happy! Thanks so much!
Love the idea of a natural like meadow under the orchard !
You can use the reverse osmosis water with pole, hose and brush system to keep your greenhouse (or any other) windows clean. Its called a pure water or water fed pole system. Its what professionals use. Do it on a day without high winds, since the glass requires a small window of dry time (dust sticks to wet glass). Hope that's helpful :) - I run a window cleaning company
Thank you for answering my question about tip burn! Iâm kind of doomed with moisture in the air (high desert of Wyoming), and I also have super hard water! However, I will try to leave the water sit overnight before watering my houseplants and see if that helps at allâșïž Thank you for sharing your advice!!
Aaron you are so right about shaky cameras, there are so many garden videos that I have turned off because of all of the shaking.
Two decor-related tips: First off, paint the ceilings in your rooms a lighter version of the walls, as in a 20/80 mix where 20% of the color is the same as your walls and the other 80% is a complementary white. Secondly, you will be able to find the fabrics you want online. Try Mood first and then just search for decorator fabrics. Life-changing.
Just have to say that I love your decor-related videos just as much as your gardening ones. Our decorating styles are very similar. ~ Lisa
PS - The lamp behind you can't decide whether it wants to turn off or on. It's going through the most distracting calisthenics behind your head. Finally, make as many or as few videos as your life can manage. We'll be fine with that number, whatever it is.
Hi new subscribers here from Florida!!! Thank you for inspiring me to start little but cute projects đđđ€
Please, take this with a grain of salt. I am a long time viewer and you give me so much inspiration! I love garden design and I am going to school for this. Keep the west side brick pathway separate from your main entrance. Let it lead to somewhere immaculate, like the cut flower garden... or a fountain or small water feature in front of the cut flower garden. As for the main entry pathway, let it be its own vista. Maybe have the main entry pathway wider then the west side pathway so that it really draws your eye and tells any visitor thatâs where they are supposed to enter.
Having the two paths âmergeâ over the gravel is what the main issue is. If it were paved and had a brick path engraved within the pavement I think there wouldnât be any issue. Idk? Just my opinion. Tough and expensive decisions. Whatever you may do it will be amazing! đ€
Lots of projects going on. Canât wait for the changes
You guys bar none,..do the best video work out there in your field. and it is greatly appreciated. there are other channels that I would like to watch , but they just make me too dizzy! keep up the awesome job!!
Enjoy your trips...our daughter is in heaven 10 1/2 years now. We used to do those things.....and miss those times so
Thanks for sharing. â€ïžâ€ïž
I have to admit, that everyday after work and taking care of chores, I can't wait to relax and see if Laura and Aaron have a new video for us. But I totally understand your busy life, and we are just happy to have what you share. Hoping you'll be able to keep your Sabbath Days for God and family- Don't worry about us.
If God can rest on Sunday, so can you. đ
I like the idea of the 2 sidewalks meeting each other and also the idea of the sidewalk being wider, I think you would be happier with it when done.
I love the final outcome of the mantle I was vibing with it. Maybe thatâs my style?? Still learning what I like and donât.
âCooking with greaseâ!!! Never heard that before, had to go back and make sure thatâs what I heard:) đ
Awesome recap!
About the ceiling color, think about a soft yellow too, if you even like yellow. It adds such a beautiful softness to a room. And bonus, it's the only color that plays well with all others.
I'm with Aaron 10 isn't enough I planted 13 bareroot fruit trees and I want more because I know I won't get much fruit for 2yrs and I'm real excited about my spice zee nectaplum I planted in front of our house because of the beautiful burgundy foliage:) hopefully my wife will grow to love it.
That Dewalt pump sprayer is definitely something to look into. Thanks for the idea.
Our orchids here in country Victoria Australia we drip irritate usually with the thick black tubing, also we hill or mound our trees in raised rows. Good luck
