  • According to the 2022 South Sudan Humanitarian Needs Overview, "An estimated 6 million people’s living standards and their wellbeing will be impacted in 2022 as a result of inadequate or lack of access to safe water and improved sanitation. Water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) conditions were found to be most severe in the Nile Basin states of Jonglei, Upper Nile, Unity, Warrap and Lakes, and Eastern Equatoria and Northern Bahr el Ghazal." World Vision's solar-powered water system provides thousands of people in Upper Nile State with safe drinking water closer to their homes.
