    I coincidentally installed 4 C270's today, one on a Prusa Mini+ and 3 on Prusa MK3S(+). Removing the stand / centre pin from the camera was genius, thanks for the tip. Great design. Printing one now then printing 2 more after successful test. Cheers, JAYTEE

    FYI, the trapezoidal nuts on your Z-axis are installed upside-down. That will prevent the Z-axis from going all the way up, and can mess-up calibration. See section 4, step 6 in the manual.

      Damn, I've been printing 4 days after assembly and just noticed. Thanks.

      Dammit. Printing 2 weeks and realised I’ve done the same thing LOL.

      Did you have any issues with focus. I thinking because it’s wide angle you won’t. I have had issues with other cameras or I could not adjust the focus.

    Neat implementation of the camera mounting system!

    Nice idea to wrap the cable with the stepper motor cable!

    As I wait for my MK3 I think I'm going to modify this to fit the Wanhao i3

    that is awesome man great job. what software do you use to create the bracket? I would like to modify to suit the logitech c525 camera. have you had any issues with vibrations or print issues since installing this?

    You didn’t change anything on the camera itself, right? Because I see a lot of focal length adjustment for using the c270 on such short distance but your video looks okay...

    Desing looks cool, camera angle is amazing but I think you should considerer that add weight in a extruder may cause some vibrations = ringing/ghosting and maybe some others side effects, just be aware. Make a lightweight extruder is one of the biggest challenges in a direct-drive enviroment.

    • @Flagazz
      @Flagazz Před 6 lety

      Don't get me wrong cause I really like it but if some downside appear just change the mount to fit some of those tiny tiny cameras to save some weight

      Thanks for the tips. I have not seen or noticed any negative artifacts in the prints so far. The only time that Z axis moves is during a layer change and or zhop. I will keep an eye out for it.

    • @Flagazz
      @Flagazz Před 6 lety

      Nice, i hope that doesn't affect but if does you can reduce jerk/accelararion on firmware or print a bit slower

  • @YungassPadawan

    Does this cause any print quality issues? I'm sure the camera is super light but I have no idea how sensitive the verticle rods might be to weight.

    • @The_Active_Region
      @The_Active_Region  Před 3 lety

      Not that I have ever noticed. That axis does not move unless there is a layer change. It doesnt move like the other axises.

    Should have started with actual footage from the camera to show why this is worth doing/watching.

    Trapezoid nuts are up side down.

      Thanks, I noticed that after I posted the video. Good catch though.

    This doesn't work for time lapse as the bed moves back and forth and the cam is stationary. The cam needs to attach to the bed

    • @The_Active_Region
      @The_Active_Region  Před 4 lety

      Correct. This design is for general remote monitoring.

    • @notcorrect

      If you use Octolapse it will place the bed at exactly the same position for every layer and take a photo.
