Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on CZcams.
Two weeks ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of CZcams 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers. Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation.
Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German and Arabic.

First episode of I believe 9 episodes Diana was the last singer to perform .. The judges are other singers who are competing against Diana and each other .. and their reaction then is from her peers. They guy with the beard who stood first is a one time guest - he is a famous Opera Tenor in Russia. (the nine singers are the same through all 9 shows with a different guest singer each time). The participants have to perform songs chosen by the organizers out of eight different genres and are allowed to perform one song of their own choice. This song was chosen for her out of the genre Grammy Awards
Right now there were already another two episodes airing with another two performances of Diana, the second one was a modern pop song that seemed to be quite popular in Russia and the third performance was a folk song.
I'm very curious about her fourth performance. It will be an 80s pop song and the title of the song was already leaked: "Twist in my sobriety" originally performed by Tanita Tikaram. This is quite a challenging title in my opinion because although the vocals themselves aren't very challenging from a vocal range perspective the song itself is full of suppressed emotions in an attempt to feign ignorance and coolness.
