    Apart from it being a beautiful occurrence if something which is not a natural phenomenon and rarely occurs happens, we should be gravely concerned as it might hint towards some geomagnetic disturbance and not something to wow about.

    2005 they were 10 times stronger and we didn’t have such auroras. Means that our weakening magnetic field couldn’t manage such storms as 2005 anymore. Preparedness for offgrid is not a bad idea now.

      It’s gonna weaken to a point that the Earth is so vulnerable to cosmic radiations

    Actually, the reason that Mars lost its atmosphere and water was because it lost its magnetic field.
