1776 is my favorite movie, so this is just the bestest🌟🇺🇸
My sixth great grandfather served in the Continental Army from 1775-1777 and 1780-1783. He enlisted at 15, and fought in most of the major battles excluding Yorktown, Monmouth, and the Philadelphia Campaign.
I agree with Ben Franklin. The turkey should have been our national bird. Eagles are so overplayed.

Fair point, but counterargument. Imagine all the jokes made if we ate our national bird every day.
The eagle is a sign of the past and Europe(commonwealth, Serbia, Habsburg, Prussia all have eagles on their flags/coat of arms) , it almost signifies the past and old ideas.
Personally, I say it should have been a hawk. Specifically, the Red-tailed hawk.
As a Pennsylvanian I am Duty bound to agree with Benjamin Franklin, the Turkey would have been perfect because of its links to our past settlers. However, the Eagle is still an ideal and powerful bird and deserves its spot as our country national bird 🦅 🇺🇸🇺🇸

People often wonder when the things start going downhill for a country. Some people blame Carter some blame Reagan others LBJ, FDR, Woodrow Wilson and even Lincoln. Personally I think our country started going downhill when we picked the eagle instead of the turkey as our national bird.

The dove should've been the national bird for America, but the eagle is much more fitting for an interventionist superpower, one that triumphs by force and capital, not really peace and progress but, it is what it is.
Actually I wonder if that change of symbol could’ve made a change in course like if war or intervention was called people against would turn to the national bird as a way to use symbols to appeal to voters I’m sure the significance wouldn’t be major but the possible political pamphlets would’ve been interesting to read and look at

The dove is a loser bird, Born in war, why would America be a dove, I think the wild turkey was good, but frankly I personally prefer a different bird for America, The Falcon, A Brave Small Bird, Quick To Fight against the odds, The Terror of the Sky, Just like the turkey I am certain the falcon would charge a group of redcoats. when I saw 1776 my mind went immediately to Jan 6th and how people were claiming that stupid riot was somehow honoring the memory of the American Revolution while it spat on all they stood for and I became depressed on how stupid people are.
Thankfully the song brought my spirits up.
I feel like Jan. 6th was so idiotic of a day that it almost seems self destructive, then again trump was always a narcissist and a parasite to the republican party .
