Don't let it discourage you! For everyone as individuals, we all have different experiences! And this is okay. Start small first! Then slowly make your way up as you learn and progress. It is a very rewarding experience trust me. Whether it be a personal suit or for someone else, it's very rewarding in the end. But don't try to buy everything all at once cause it will be otherwise... Very not encouraging due to the expenses all at once.
I hate TikTok but this "haha" rendition of that song (no I can't remember the name of it for the life of me but I remember jamming out to the original years ago lol) is hilarious lol. Thank you Skye for clarifying to the audience why artists are poor, and why the phrase "starving artist" is 100% accurate
The cost of supplies is no joke though 😭😭 I made two skulldogs and I’m pretty sure I spent like $800 by the end of it. Expensive, but at least it was still cheaper than commissioning someone, and now that I have the hang of it I’m gonna start doing some skullie premades!
People really be out here saying a fursuit is expensive when what they're really saying is they think fursuit makers deserve to be paid less than a teenager at their first job at Mcdonalds...
She's right though... My daughter got me into making hers, bc can't afford premade really ... And I'm confident in art (sculpture, graphite, painting everything really..ive commissioned several pieces in my past).. and dang I'm a cheap betch who tries to cut all the corners I can without it being noticable (like microfiber faux fur blanket from Amazon for any shaven fur 🥲) but it still taking all my dolla bills up. Hopefully I'll be able to make some premade ones, if my daughter stops requesting new ones, that is 😓 so far she got a German shepherd head, and Mangle from FNAF )
Yep. Suits are so expensive because a maker can only make so many of them In a year and then there is general cost of living that needs to be covered. So like for example if they only make 6 suits a year they need to charge at least $2 500 per suit just to cover basic living costs depending on where you are of course this may need to be $6k just to cover living and then there is not much left for luxuries and niceties.
I get roughly around 9'600 annually per year that's without counting the taxes and food and rental and other bills... Per month. But I live happily though. I live in the US where I'm at.
Im a young maker whose only made paws for my friend at school irl, And I got so bored I’m in the making of a fursuit head made of cardboard ToT (It actually looks good-)
Let's say you bought a full suit (4,600) from them. *ESTIMATES!! Fur- 500, Foam+ stuffing- 300 Misc parts- 300 Tools cost+maintain cost- 400 Rent- 1,700 Food- 200 Profit: 1,200... which is.. not a lot. surprisingly enough. that's 40/hour. *Please don't take this as fact!! I beg of you!!
i'd argue the fur for a full suit can easily be half that or more than triple that estimate depending on a few factors, but foam is not even close to that even if it was entirely solid foam inside you'd be hard pressed to spend that much. o-o
Me makeing a suit materials costing 1000+ useing only sequin fabric for the scaley effect yes i found the materials for the gecko fur suit now to save up Im broke allways as well lol and im just starting
Omg as a growing maker, I am so hesitant to work on new skills that may not come out right, but cost so much in materials and time, as opposed to making the tried and true items that actually sell 😂 But how am I supposed to improve and expand if I don't invest in learning new skills?! But how am I supposed to afford the time and materials to expand those skills if I don't spend that time making things that sell?! Ugh! 😅
I have a question do you sell suits/masks and if so what are the average prices because I live your masks so much and am looking for a cheap affordable one
I’m working on my own (with some custom commissioned 3D modeled / printed parts). Not including the parts I haven’t bought the materials for yet, I’ve spent more that 400 $ so far. I mean, not bad for what I’m trying to accomplish and the work put in makes it so much more special. Getting one for free takes away all the emotional value and skills you learn along the way. In a way, if you get one free, it’s a loss for everyone including yourself. Go touch grass if the work sounds that darn scary. Learn the beauty of the craft
Why do you remind me of this person at the Australian airforce cadets that makes fursuits and looks kinda like you, hmmmmmmmm did you go to AAFC last year?
long story short: they would be rich if they didn't make pursuits. most of the time, they spend ALL THEIR MONEY on the suits. 😅😅😅 (im TOTALLY not one-)
My heart goes out to any maker who has to deal with people trying to get stuff for free
Basically every maker?
Now all of a sudden I lost all excitement of wanting to make a suit 😭 Giant respect to makers out there! 🫶🏻
My advice is slowly get all the stuff you need, faux fur doesn't go off or anything lol. And yes this IS an expensive hobby but worth it!
I’ve been making my first suit for years lol keep realizing I need more stuff and then some things not up to my liking so I start over it’s rough
You don't have to make fursuits for other ppl, it costs differently that way

Same lol 😭
I'm sorry but I'm from Germany and whenever I see people living in a house I automatically assume they're rich

What makes you beautiful is the song
This isn't from tiktok tho, I remember unironically jamming to this version back in 2015

finally, someone realizes that PPE is important in almost everything
I still want to be fursuit maker😂
Lmfao to those who think makers are banking when in reality with all the facts and numbers we really are lucky earn a little above minimum wage
NOOO I GOT DORITO MOOMIN’D *inaudible crying noises*
People really be out here saying a fursuit is expensive when what they're really saying is they think fursuit makers deserve to be paid less than a teenager at their first job at Mcdonalds...
HOWD SHE GET UP THERE. This is quality content, the most entertaining video I’ve seen today XD

The music is a chef’s kiss ❤
oh my god the song speaks so much words, even more words than anyone could fit into a video
Excellent video!! And I love that song! Ive been listening to it since it came out 😅😅
Im a young maker whose only made paws for my friend at school irl, And I got so bored I’m in the making of a fursuit head made of cardboard ToT (It actually looks good-)
Even with all those problems..
WHEN I GROW UP I WANNA BE ONE 😩✨
I had a sewing machine needle go through my finger when I was working on my suit
ouch-
are you okay??
Oh my goodness! I pray your okey! That sounds horrible!😟

These things do unfortunately happen! But I hope you're okay cause I know that is VERY painful.
Dorito Moomin haunts my dreams ( but still you're amazing and so are your suits)
Holding in the tears while laughing I feel you.

It reminds me that there used to be cobblers and how long it took until they made every shoe. We all buy brands.
I don’t want to admit how long it took me to recognize the song 😭
I respect you guys so friggin much
We rich in fursuits, not money.
Omg it took me two seconds to realise the audio😍
I love the song.
So many people want for cheap what takes lots of time and skill. That's why I stopped doing my business and just pay artist without haggling
Im an aussie and been looking for someone i can get fursuit made once i have the money to. When your commissions open ill ask 😊
Me makeing a suit materials costing 1000+ useing only sequin fabric for the scaley effect yes i found the materials for the gecko fur suit now to save up
Im broke allways as well lol and im just starting
No because this is my new favorite song rn 😤😩🩷🤌🏼✨💅🏼😍
This is the reason I don’t complain when I see fursuit commissioners have high prices for their work
Me need that audio lol
Argentinian fursuit makers:🤏🕶🤨
You light up my world like nobody else
[Finsh the lyrics in reply]
Hahahahahhaahahhaha

The "haha" started to sound like a minecraft villager or do i just play too much games
her old fursuit😭
(Hahahaha nice song) but yea I can see why fursuits are so expensive
Yeah……I’m planning on making my own suit for the first time, and the price is already nearly 200 usd.
What respirator is that?
Dorito Newman!
I have a question do you sell suits/masks and if so what are the average prices because I live your masks so much and am looking for a cheap affordable one
Probably start at £2000 for a head is my guess
Nice❤
Some are rich!
This sound is going to be reused so many times. Just u wait!
Bro.. how’d you get on top of the shelf
You got money somewhere to get those fabrics.
My message to anyone asking for free fursuit : get a job. Make it yourself

Can i have a pin im subbed btw keep up your work i love your content!!
Is Dorita Mooman even safe to wear? He has NEEDLES as mouth joints...

long story short: they would be rich if they didn't make pursuits. most of the time, they spend ALL THEIR MONEY on the suits. 😅😅😅 (im TOTALLY not one-)
Is it not good money still?
Dorito moomin :3
"can I get a free suit"
makes me laugh and angry everytime an idiot ask this
I understand some. I saw some makers selling partials for $4k (head, tail, and paws) at Denfur. Seemed a bit high.
Is it wrong that I made my fursuit head costing only 20$ and it looks rlly good-
This was unneeded
But it's not hq. Theres a difference between looking good and being good, and if your selling you need hq
@@dragopistachio I know but Im not selling yet so dats good 👍
Please check into the leather maker and textile union!! They allow fursuit makers
Slayyyyyyyyyy❤❤
I made two fursuits for free. (None of the equipment was mine!)
+They were only partial
What about the fur and stuff?
SELL THEM
that's her legit career
raise your price so you actually get a semi-living wage
I feel bad for u
You can just order one off a website
… then it’s made by a fursuit maker…
Middle class?
I dont really understand.. But still HAPPY HALLOWEEN🎃👻🍬!!!
@@SpicyFurryCurryThere's three classes, poor, middle and rich. If that makes any sense!
Spend money on things that you will leave probably
rip
Close down the business now don't let these idiots run around
Then don't make fursuits? I don't get it if you are happy or unhappy with the profit
its for fun im pretty sure.
