    Thanks allot for this, with the engine out of the car it was much easier to see how to perform the procedure 👍

    What the hell . Do it in the car. We driveway mechanics can't do it with the motor out

    The two ends hat rubber insulating strip protrude a bit from the cavity. How is it supposed to sit against the starter when you reinstall it? Seems like it gets in the way.

      It may have come into contact with oil or fluid causing it to swell a bit. I usually trim it flush with the bell housing if this happens. However if it's only protruding a millimeter or two I don't ever worry about it.

    Had to replace it in a year and a half again . Had oil on pinion gear . Trying to find actual oil leak . This mechanic said it's definitely from real seal . Also have valve cover oil leak which might be causing this . In your opinion , can top leak get into starter gear ? Or is it pretty tightly sealed against from the outside ? And this other mech said it was rear main seal .. yeah will still get another opinion and even try to find it after I clean it a bit .

      What year is your Focus. A lot of the early years are notorious for leaking transmission input shaft seals. This could possible be a cause too. Valve cover leaks can diffidently get in there. Rear main seals as well as oil pans are known sources of oil leaks in this area. Not uncommon to have more than one leak.

    Now the starter didn't work but once I removed it i and this other mechanic bench tested it and looked good soo I don't know what's going on ? Maybe under load trying to crank flywheel will fail ? Just bizaare . He said try it put it back on there and see what it does . check clean alll connections including battery .. Battery is about a month old . Also when I removed starter no cable / wire was attached to bracket that I remember so I guess it's there just loose ..

      Are you getting power to the starter. Have you tested the circuits with a volt meter or a test light?

      @frankmontez6853 Před rokem

      @@BarboursAutoHelp no I haven’t tested those yet and I suppose that could be it. This mechanic is older in his sixties soo he’s pretty experienced. He’s fixed other problems very easily and quickly within minutes. I’ll do as he says check clean all connections as best I can. As to cables besides looking at the ends for wear and damage what else do you recommend? Testing it at starter connections with volt meter?

    I have a 2015 Ford Fiesta, question is...can the starter be removed without taking off the intake manifold?

      Absolutely. I do it all the time. Don't have a video on it though.
