    I never thought the day would come when young African Americans would enjoy visiting, let alone live in Addis and be proud being black. That was not my experience some four and half decades ago when I went to college in NYC. I am happy for you. Enjoy

    Hi dear family, 6 years have passed since I left Ethiopia. despite our ugly tribal politics, I miss everything about our country and our people. I hope that the time will come when Ethiopians and fellow African Americans from all over the world will live together, we will have better security and stable economic development than the relative peace we have now. God bless amen 🙏🏼

    I used to walk in that part of Addis Ababa almost every day after school. It has changed so much that I may not recognize it at all. As much as I like changes, however, when the change is significant you lose the emotional attachment. When I was young I used to watch football on the grounds where the Adwa Museum is erected, it used to be called Addis meda

    Building parks and museums and not signs of developement. Building communal housing, clinics and quality schools are major priorities . It means noting for the 90% of the people. Developement is where there are job creation and the income of the people is increasing. If you ask me, Addis is not developing but it is regressing.

    • @princesslivingfree
      @princesslivingfree  Před 2 měsíci +7

      Yeah I agree. You’re so right. Things were definitely better when there was litter everywhere, limited sidewalks, and the streets in Piassa smelled like urine.
      Things in Ethiopia are FAR from perfect, and we still have a long way to go. Ethiopia certainly needs to improve the education and health systems and provide more housing for those in need. However, it’s not productive to see everything as bad. Blessings 🙏🏾

      I agree with you. I am not being pessimistic but being realistic. Its just I do not want you to be part of the propaganda. I know you all are good people with good heart. I love my country but there is a big mismanagement of resources and working on people is much productive is all what I want to say. Have a great and wonderful Sunday.

      @@user-cv1ci3ul3h yes construction is one source of employment but it is heavily dependent on imported materials and if you compare the job creation created by construction compared to other sectors in not more than 8 %. But the rest of the population is dependent on Agri. And construction is mainly carried out in cities. Like I said the government priority is totally distorted and out of context. The government is only focused on glitter projects where there is not major contribution to the economy or job creation. Its a fact. Ignorance and mismanagement of resources is what is happening. If you ask me priority should be on the youths minds so that they can create jobs and become producers. Not consumers. Ignorance ( narrow minded), luck of vision, corruption are the only thing that I am witnessing.

    It’s tragic the country school system is almost to no existence as well as no job opportunities. Ethiopian are dying in the Mediterranean Sea. Ignorant leaders worry about the appearance rather than to fix the root cause of the problem. The ignorant prime minister begging for good for the world sending currently his ministers to beg from UN while taking a lone to build a palace. It’s infuriating and mind boggling. Ethiopians are suffering from high inflation and lack of jobs. I currently watched a female doctor that was begging for food and shelter.
    He need to step down the public is very disappointed he’s threatening with war. Typical African dictators they beg to get to power once they control the military they mismanage the economy and incarcerate citzens for asking questions. Journalist are fleeing the country military is deserting those with money moving to other opportunities in neighboring countries.
    It’s a sad sad… day for Ethiopia.
