That is an utterly ridiculous way to look at a game. Unless the refs call a perfect game, you can always argue that a missed call led to a team scoring a goal. The truth is that the Croatian team was tired and it showed. Their previous two games went to PKs, which means that prior to the Argentina game, they played in excess of 240 minutes. The play that led to the penalty showed their center backs not in sync and totally in no position to contest the ball over the top that split them. Steve Wonder could have played a ball into that space. Croatia was supposed to dominate the midfield play and wear Argentina down but the could not do this because the were tired. Croatia had nothing in the tank and could not produce anything in the attacking 3rd of the pitch.
