I have no idea what I’m looking at here but it looks therapeutic. I guess I’ll Google “what is Tyvek” as a 1st step

Tyvek is a spunbond polyethanal paper that is waterproof and rip proof. It has many uses, one of which it is used in the building trade to wrap houses before the roof and cladding go on. It is also used in textiles as a product to raise the surface of your work. It can be textured with heat. This channel is where I give glimpses of my textile processes and experiments. 😊

I think it would be good to leave some satin showing.

Can you give a quick idea of the layers you used? Just the order and material as you layered them. Thanks. P.S. I live for your videos!

Hi Ruth. 5 x A4 sheets of 75gm Tyvek interleaved with 4 x A4 sheets of poly organza. Machine stitch together then zap. If you have access to a copy of Hot Textiles, there is a chapter on Tyvek in there. Have fun.

Lovely result. But what do you do with it? That would seem to be very helpful, missing information.

Anything you like - you will have a firm sample that can be used to make a box. It is up to you. Whatever you would need a firm textured surface for. . My channel is not project based and will not suggest a finished product, it is purely for experimental processes and techniques and artists that are interested in them.
