Please don't call this Korean food...this is western food that's been horribly Koreanized. You don't even want to know what gets done to Italian or Mexican food here. Actual Korean food is fantastic 👍

Many fond memories of being in Korea and finding myself in need of something to eat in the morning hours after a long night. The little old lady on the corner of the street with her griddle making egg, ham, and cheese sandwiches with mayo for a buck was the ticket.

4 different sauces? My mother would've kill me if I used 2
When I make a burger, I go for mayo on the bottom with lettuce, tomato (salt and peppered), pickles, onion, and then I take my burger patty and rub a THIN layer of mustard on both sides, mayo on the top of the bun, call it a day. That's 2. If I'm making another burger that I love, I put a smaller amount of mayo on the bottom, saute'd onions, burger patty, Swiss cheese, one or two fried onion rings, homemade honey BBQ sauce over the onion rings, small amount of mayo on the top bun. Again, 2 sauces. Any more than 2 types of sauce is ruining your flavor structure on a burger.
They are very generous with the sauce...yummy!!! 🤤

I have a new nephew-in-law who was born n raised in S. Korea, and yes sauce does play a significant part in Korean meals. It may look like lots of sauce but amazingly the sauces really do compliment what they put them on. I don’t like sauce very much , but don’t knock it until you try it.

@Carol I live in northern Seoul lol...traditional Korean street food is fantastic, but attempts like these at making "western" dishes are usually huge misses. I just made some 돼지볶음밥 for lunch, and later there'll be some fresh 닭갈비 for dinner if you'd like to come join 😊

Gives me ideas for a quick (but hearty) meal when off camping! Friends have told me that the Korean street vendors also do "one egg mini Spanish omelettes" using those rings (usual cost around $1 (US)). That would be a nice quick "fill me up" snack if available!
