Cool video :) It's kinda hard to stay oriented with all the loops and break turns :)) I wonder why the two vectors are very often one above the other - this is definitely not due to caging, as it only compensates for sideslip?...
The song is a perfect fit man screw the hater. Brings a warm feeling of memories in the CF-18 when I see them you bet. :thumbsup @2:30 GET AFTER IT BRO!
@carby212 That was a very lucid and well thought out comment, I value your opinion greatly and I will immediately remove the music. Or better yet, learn how to use volume control and turn down the music if you don't like it.
@fgrimley32 Can't recall, I'm sure it's in the software Grey Book if you have access to one of those. May be elapsed interval? I believe Zulu time from the GPS was the default.
@Wanghammer I respect your opinion, however this my personal HUD tape from the airshow I flew at the 2000 Atsugi Airshow, I never released it to anyone, and the original is in my collection of HUD tapes. So, no you do not have the original or even a copy unless I gave it to you, which I have not. Loosen up dude, and listen to some tool......
@WhiskeyRomeo2... I've asked you questions about the Hornet before, so apologize in advance IF I'm getting monotonous. What does the "EI" (Echo-India) on your HUD Clock mean? I've asked around (canadian Hornet pilot), and looked around but seen no concrete answers. Even looked in NATOPS and no real definitive answer. I'm guessing "external input", that you have to manually enter the ZULU or LOCAL time?
Heya Whisky, I have a quick, hopefully not nerdy question for you. For takeoff, when you apply power with the brakes held, does the nose dip at all? I noticed in the tape that it doesn't appear so (unless you just throttled up without holding brakes). Also, does the nose bounce at all while you're taxiing?
UNLESS I have a different F/A 18 show that looks VERY similar to this one. Mine has audio like... 3.. 2... 1... and.. PULL! Maybe we both have great HUD videos. If I'm wrong and have a different video, I apologize in advance. Give me a few days.
@Wanghammer Once again, I respect your opinion. Just saying that you do not have a copy of my tape, I never talked to myself while flying a show, so nothing to listen to except the altitude warnings and the background chatter over radio 1 from the show coordinator......very boring, in my opinion!
@WhiskyRomeo2 I removed my comment, because I may have a very similar HUD video, which I will post the moment I can find it. We may just have two very cool shows to share, which is what CZcams is all about. Sorry for sounding like a douche.
Well-flown, Sir!
That high-alpha pass was just awesome... takes a good nerve on the stick and rudder to make it look that smooth...
Thanks, It was a lot of fun. Flying Demo's is just about the only thing I miss about the Military.
Thanks Bro, Always nice when someone "gets it" with regard to the music.
It was already going to be cool, but when the Tool sound track kicked in, coolness went up to a new level. Good show, bro, from an old Aardvark guy.
@87BLA The course line thru the selected waypoint. In this case the waypoint is the runway and the course selected is runway heading.

@WhiskyRomeo2 - Thank you!
Kickin demo, really clean! Thanks for sharing. How many pounds of fuel does a flight like that burn?
@zproxysi Right on, flying a demo gets the heart rate going, so should the music.... WR

Beautiful
oh, well, I guess it's not "very often", I only see that in the high-G maneuvers, like the right turns at 2:30 and 5:17...
@andrzejartymowicz It's called volume control, you turn it down if you no likey....

@spins321 No, very little nose strut movement with brakes and power.

All flight demos should be set to Tool. It's about time someone put a decent soundtrack to an air demonstration.
what does the little fish symbol under the speed mean?

what is the small arrow for?
@ratatouille78 Artist: Tool Track: "The Pot" Thanks...
song name?
"The Pot" artist Tool
@aaron8862006 Takeoff with about 8500 lbs. Land with 1500 - 2000 lbs. Thanks.
Please see my video response and my apology!! My memory is not nearly as sharp as my rudeness! Sorry about that, WR.
Alpha..... angle of attack

Too bad you ruined it by putting music on it. I have the original video and it's much better just listening to the pilot.
