  • This is the first Episode of a multi-episode series on our 2023 British Columbia Moose Hunt. In this episode we make the long drive north, get camp set up, jet boat inflated and boat into a lake and start moose hunting. We encountered a few hiccups along the way but we just changed our plans and still found a nice area to hunt. Thanks for watching. #moosehunting #longrangehunting #jetboating

    I remember my first boat well. You learn a lot in a hurry. Keep er on step. That boat will do that all day long!

      Hi Jay, last year was my first time running a jet boat. I learned a lot and can't wait to hit the rivers again this year. It will be soon as I just got the boat all ready to go for the season. Thanks for the tip and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment , take care and be safe my friend.

    That boat looks like a pretty sweet setup. Accessing some remote country for sure. Impressive how little water it needs.
    Also it really puts into perspective how big BC is when you drive for 2 days just to get to your hunting spot. Can’t wait for the next episode. Really enjoy the hunts released as a series!

      Hi Karl, I am really liking the boat, it’s a lot of fun. BC is very big, I have made that drive every year since 2007. It’s very tiring and getting expensive for fuel. But I’ll always go, I don’t care what it costs me. Thanks again for watching and all the comments, I really appreciate it. Take care my friend.

    The excitement of packing and driving to a hunt and all the anticipation that goes with it just makes it worth a million dollars.
    Al, I didn't see you wearing a belt on your chest waders, I highly recommend you wear a tight belt . If you were to go in the water for what ever reason your waders will fill with water and take you down , even with a PFD. I have worn Chest waders for years duck hunting and fishing and have been thankful on a couple occasions that i had a belt on ! Be safe out there my friend.
    Great video , thanks for sharing .

      Hi Tim, it was a great hunt. Yes, you are correct about the belt with the waders. I brought one but I forgot it in the trailer, I did think of it after though. I need to attach the belt to the waders as I forgot it again today when I went out in the boat. I didn’t have them on until I got stuck halfway through the trip. Then I just left them on. Thank you for watching out for me it’s greatly appreciated and thank you for watching and commenting. Take care my friend.

      Hi, it was a great adventure as they all are and thanks for watching. As the for the bears, for the most part they behave themselves, I have only had to shoot one in self defence, so far. Lol. Thanks again for watching and the comment, take care.

    Great video Al, can’t wait for the rest . Now that my freezers full of moose and caribou I’m off for an epic trip to the mountains Alone . I’m taking only 10 tools including my re curve bow , no food and minimal gear to survive entirely off the land for as long as I feel I need to be there . I thought you might like to check it out some time on my channel . Keep the great videos coming man , you’ve inspired me to start posting some of my hunts as well when I return from this crazy trip of mine .

    Great Video! I came across your videos as I am interested in the solar jet boats. Just curious about your setup and weight capacity. Would you be able to carry to guys camp and a moose and still get on step? Are you happy with the boat and motor combo? Or would you change anything? Any advice would be appreciated
    Thanks

      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi Jared, I’m not sure if I could carry a full moose, but I’m sure it would haul 1/2 without a problem. I am very happy with the boat and motor. If I was to do it again I’d get the same boat, but I would like the Tohatsu 50/40 I think that what it is. My boat is fast enough but it would be nice to go a little faster. The fuel economy is crazy good. Definitely get a poly shoe, the stock one I would have smashed a long time ago. Also get an adjustable transom, I just installed one on my boat. I’ll be doing a video on that shortly here. If you have any other questions please ask. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care. If you get one let me know what you get.

    I got a question for you. I’ve had lots of jet boats and I’m wondering how did you find those weeds to get any problem going through all those weeds?🎉🎉

    • @bcextremeoutdoorsman
      @bcextremeoutdoorsman  Před 10 měsíci

      Hi George, I had no issues at all with the weeds. I kind of thought I would and checked the foot grates after going through the weeds and they were all clear. I was surprised as I was spraying mud out of the nozzle so it was really shallow and of course, lots of weeds. Thanks for watching and the comment, take care.
