Lost my father four years ago so I understand. We were bonded by a love of classic cars. My earliest memories were helping him in the garage on one of his antique cars.
@@rickhmason me him and my grandpa all worked on restoring 1955 ford crown Victoria fairlanes. Over the years we probably restored 10 cars. Together. My earliest memories with him are in a garage working on cars and farm equipment for grandpa.
My goal is find one those cars and buy it back.
@@roterakaten636 My Dad sold his favorite car to pay for college for my sister and me. With the help of one our friends I was able to borrow that car, a 1926 Wills Sainte Claire, to have at his 100th birthday party.
I don't think anything I've ever done in life made him happier. We lifted him in for one last ride as a passenger and he returned just beaming.
Hope you're able to find one of those cars that you and your dad restored together.

SEEING Tavarish channel and learning about the movie cars that are actually driven, it's amazing to me that people don't get past the outside of the car and see that the car being driven is actually some tube frame, LS3, minimum interior go-kart essentially and the 'hero car' used for B roll and close-ups are 2 totally different cars. They think the car used in the close -ups is the car driving on the street and it isn't at all.
Exactly I remember when I was little thinking why are they destroying these super expensive rare cars, even now I have friends that will complain and say the classic "what a waste I would've had that happily"
@@Mace-1191 Exactly. People will be like 'Oh man they destroyed that Ferrari!' And I'm like 'No they didn't!' That was a body kit on a tube frame or a kit car made to look like one. The best was (and this will date me a bit) but Miami Vice when I was a kid, they destroyed his Ferrari Daytona and people were outraged. Well the car was a fake. It was Corvette with a body kit and Enzo Ferrari was so pissed they were driving around in a fake Ferrari he sent them the Testarossa that the show made famous. The condition was they had to destroy the fake Ferrari and they did. But Lamborghini and Ferrari cars being destroyed or old classic cars being destroyed, aren't real. When Will Smith had his Ferrari shot up in Bad Boys 2, it wasn't real.

Yeah. He's saying that rather than the Gen1 4g63 or the 2.4L NA engine it had a Gen2 4g63 from Evo VIII
@@jacknewberry5720 Hes saying that in the original Eclipse the Engine was on the right side if the car(left as you stand in front of it looking at the engine bay) and the transmission was on the left hand side. But when mitsubishi redesigned the 4g63 in 99 they designed it to go on the left hand side of the car.
So think of it being 180degrees out from stock.
Not all cars from the films were for production use. There are many more than people think that made it on scene and it was someone’s actual car and they paid someone to screen use.
One of my best friends had his R32 Skyline filmed in Fast & Furious 7. Had a dashboard sign my paul walker at the movie set and gave his “seal of approval” and said it was the cleanest black R32 he’s ever seen.
It was built 12 years ago, well before they were able to be imported.

the 2g mitsubishi eclipse turbo FWD or AWd had the same engine as the Evo 8 , thr 4g63, same orientation, direct swap, the non turbo eclipse had the chrysler engine turned around the other side

The first year of Covid car prices went down a lot. Still regret not buying a daily I saw back then. It was a 2005 Mazda 3s Hatchback with 60k miles for just under $5k In Blue which would have made a great daily. I've seen some Hatchbacks with 120k miles selling for $8k now lol. It's insane right now. Don't buy anything If you don't absolutely need It. Wait a year or so and the market will start to go back to normal.

4g63 Mitsubishi powered cars have the transmission on the passenger side, awd or fwd. the EVO 10 flipped the engine and it’s all very different. There must be some confusion

Those Eclipses come with 4g63 ( basically a Evo8 motor) right ?....... Seems like a easy swap to me if the eclipse was a gst or gsx.....literally wouldn't have to weld anything.....
