Joost made a move towards the reporter to make his request clear, but he did not even touch the reporter… and that is where the false allegations started. SO BEFORE YOU BELIEVE… do some research on the truth. Joost would never do such a thing.
This has nothing to do with the reporter. The issue that was investigated was between joost and an EBU staffer who he allegedly threatened to assault that person, not anyone in the public media. When he walked off stage the camera operator wasn’t supposed to film him, but she did anyways. Then he repeatedly asked to stop filming him, which the camera operator didn’t. He then made a gesture towards the camera. That was it. The next morning she filed a complaint against him because she felt unsafe. Dutch television released a statement something along these lines.
But the other countries aren't involved. I find it difficult to want to cause harm to the organisation of an event by misstreating other contestents. The Netherlands could refuse to stream the show, but people who want to vote should be given their fair chance to support the other artists.

It doubles down hard and negatively 😔 I’ve lost confidence in the EBU
I WANT TO CRY. This is ridiculous, I'd it was just a verbal argument then it shouldn't be enough of a reason to DISQUALIFY the whole country from participating in the final where VIEWERS VOTED AND SPENT MONEY to make Netherlands get to the grand final. EBU should make refunds or put joost back in the contest
Id like to explain that he didn't want to be filmed coming down the stage after his performance because he A. had to run to the green room and B. was high in emotions since europapa is a song dedicated to his passed away parents. EBU agreed to not record him, and yet they did. Twice. First time after a rehearsal, and the 2nd time after the semi finals. The camera woman continued recording even after him asking nicely to not record. Then there a threathening move frim him towards the CAMERA. Which is said that he used his hand to move the camera away from him. This is what actually happened and it's absolutely beyond me how he got the blame of this and instead of given a warning its a full out of proportion disqualification.

He didn't touch the camerawoman. So basically he got harrassed and got angry and he is the one in trouble... I think maybe it has more to do with him speaking his mind about ebu than it has to do with the incident.
The camerawoman broke event policy and Joost made a “threatening move” towards the camera. That’s it. Didn’t touch her or verbally threatened anyone. What a joke.
I feel like you are all just defending him because he had one of your favorite songs. Would the reaction be the same if it was about San Marino, Azerbaijan or Moldova? The disqualification isn't unjustified in my opinion. While the investigation might not be finished yet, there must be a good reason why it is going on in the first place. STATEMENT FROM THE EBU The Dutch artist Joost Klein will not be competing in the Grand Final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest. Swedish police have investigated a complaint made by a female member of the production crew after an incident following his performance in Thursday night’s Semi Final. While the legal process takes its course, it would not be appropriate for him to continue in the Contest. We would like to make it clear that, contrary to some media reports and social media speculation, this incident did not involve any other performer or delegation member. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards inappropriate behaviour at our event and are committed to providing a safe and secure working environment for all staff at the Contest. In light of this, Joost Klein’s behaviour towards a team member is deemed in breach of Contest rules. The Grand Final of the 68th Eurovision Song Contest will now proceed with 25 participating songs.

STATEMENT FROM THE EBU
The Dutch artist Joost Klein will not be competing in the Grand Final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest.
Latest new in Netherland.. Joost Klein made an inappropriate movement towards a femal cameraperson when she did not stop filming, although this was agreed upon.
Due to this movement, he's disqualified.

Allegedly, Joost Klein said to a staff member "You again? Next time, I will hit you!" when talking about the staff member making comments about his dead parents. He should NOT be disqualified.
Even if he didn't hurt the employee, there is no right to threaten them. He could've just ignored them, walked away, or informed his EBU contact and filed a complaint. He chose to threaten production staff. He broke the trust between him and the EBU by doing so.
