- I've been waiting for this motor since I did my training in Jan 2020. Is it as good as expected? A lot of initial thoughts, and more testing long term.

A friend, eager to show off his paramotor, decided to do so on a breezy day. Long story short, he wound up soaked with gas, hanging upside down in the power lines. The wind was causing his lines to slip around on the power lines creating sounds that could be mistaken for an electrical short adding a little more drama. Realizing the power company would be at least an hour getting there I asked another friend to get his front-end loader, and with a pruning pole I managed to kill power to that area. He had shorted out one phase, but when I disconnected the other it was as loud as a shotgun. A cautionary tale, I hope!

Hey, I also got the Moster EFI. I got mine almost a month before you did. I've put around 25 hours on mine so far and I love it.
Let me know if you've got any questions. My one big tip is that moving the display is pretty easy, and I've found a setup that works really really well.
The velcro backing will stick right to the Ozone flight deck and it sits in a really natural position there.
EDIT: One more tip, do the minimum fuel pump adjustment procedure. It's in the manual. It will give you better throttle response and stability in the mid-range (5.5k-6.5k rpm).
Those are some GREAT tips - I need to do the fuel pump adjustment - I've been having that mid-range sag once and awhile. Thanks bud! Congrats on your EFI!
Congratulations on the new motor and frame. It looks awesome. Yeah, I would like to be an early adopter on the EFI too. I believe the motor will need less maintenance because it will run in an optimal state for every flight, and at every rpm, and at every altitude. Can't wait to hear more about your experience with this unit. BTW, pretty area to fly.

Excellent review Adam! I am similar to you about technology. I will be getting one soon for the same reasons as you. I also agree about the netting on the maverick. The only weak link.

Love the EFI. I think it's funny that Carburetors haven't been used in cars in like 20 or 30 years, but we still have them on paramotors.
yeah especially with the sometimes "unreliablity" of the carb motor. It's one thing to have a motor issue on the ground (say a dirt bike) it's another thing in the air. We'll see how it holds up over time.

Hey Adam..I have a Smoke V2 & V3 headset..Which are you using and how is your audio setup because mine doesnt sound that good..I cant even see an audio cable hooked into your GoPro.Update: I see the audio adapter now..still wonder how your audio doesnt clip at full thottle.
I have the V3 - I also use an voice filter on my editing software that blocks out some of the prop noise. The headset isn't quite "that good"
@@adam-newbloom Hmm a voice filter gotcha..I need to learn that trick lol..Ive been using Davinci Resolve.Phone calls and gaggle or music is great..just the recording on GoPro isnt that good.
7:00 First 140 prop other than your SP140?
