Whoa, he talks. Awesome! More vids like these please
Yeah, I thought so too immediately I saw him. Wow such a nice guy
Vince dude your are awesome I’ve been waiting years for you to do this man this is much appreciated!!!!
Love the video guys!! Well done 🙌
This guy motivated me so much to start drumming after watching his video for “Here as in Heaven.” Glad to see this!
That was the song that got me into drumming!
As did I! The way he drummed that was SOOO powerful!!!
Thank you for making this! It is so great to know how to make the drums sound good in the worship environment.
This dude is a beast on the drums at Elevation
For years I have been struggling with drum tuning. Don't know how the drum should sound like for worship. This tutorial works perfectly for our drums at church. Really appreciated your sharing. God bless you man!
One of the best videos made for this topic!!! super helpful and tons of information
I’m a drummer myself and this video was very clear and straight forward 🙏🏻 thanks!
LOVE IT!! thanks bro
I had never seen you talking Vincent!! Amazing video!!
I am not here because I wanted to learn to play drums nor learn how to tune drums. I am here cause I was moved by his drums. The way he play the "Never Lost" it was really amazing. God Bless Mr. Vincent Baynard. You drum with your heart. You drum with a passion to serve God. Well done!🥰♥️
You don’t have to say “we” just say “I” cause you are the one who plays the drums brotha ❤️
The humility😁
Excellent thank you!
Love your opinion on the snare tuning. So many times I’ve heard drummers looking for that phat tone and they just tune it so low it has no real attack to it and sounds like mush.
And it makes the head go bad after one set
Yeah agreed. A super low snare can be awesome but generally unless you're really hitting the pocket super hard in a very specific style its gonna be way too low to fit well with the mix. Medium tuning is where it's at.
My personal preference for the phat sound is medium tuning with 14"x8" brass snare. I think the depth of the shell gives it enough off that deep slap without my batter head sitting as loose as a dead fish on the drum haha. But unfortunately not everyone owns a drum that deep as its less versatile/all around. Love mine though!
@@kas36spires Agreed! I have a Black Beauty :) 6.5"X14" and it sits really nice at medium/low. Throw a controlled sound and al little muffling to control the tone with some 30 strand wires and it sounds huge and hits really nice.
@@benjamingazdik It’s kind of funny because his royal dudeness, Chris Greely, has said “Guys will try to get snare tone we have by tuning the drums way way too low. And I don’t get the sound by tuning the snare low. I get it by tuning the snare… Right.”
hey vincent. i love your druming as you guys are a blesing ; i hope to hear more covers ; im your bigest fan; terry
What! Awesome!!
Awesome!!
Finally get to hear from this dude! We all know the worship leaders, but it would be nice to start to know the other members of the instrumental part of the team so we can learn from them (I'm a drummer and have used the tutorials with Vincent and Luke).
This is so helpful!! Thank you! 😄
Wow me too
yay!! 👏
Thank you for not being “trendy”! Dig the head combos.
That's really cool. Drumming.
Uh bro your toms sounds so so amazing
Whoa! Hope to see more drum covers of elevation worship songa
Thanks, man! I never knew your name until now, but you've always been my favorite drummer mainly because of how humble you are. You don't need to unnecessarily move your body in any way to get attention.
Finally!
Pitch perfect brother! Some guys are tunning to low. You are right. We need to hear the note of the drums
No me imaginaba que usara un set de batería un poco raro pero me encanta como suena excelente video
Great job
Right?!
Elevation worship drummer is god present and very Cool drummer.
what does god present mean?
Thank you for this video! Really helpful
Love your channel and drum videos. You've helped me tremendously before each of my Sunday services!
@@yaddakmela5722 Amen I’m glad I can help brother
@@yaddakmela5722 God bless you❤️🙏🏼
@@sergiotorrensmusic God bless you man! You’ve even been an inspiration for me to start my own drum channel! If and when that gets going, I will 100% be shouting you out!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
So good! Thank you!! QUESTION: Do you like having a modified or different setup for more acoustic or small room setups, or have you found this to be your favorite in nearly all situations? Thank you for sharing and blessing.
my fav small room setup is kick, snare, floor tom, hats, and a crash ride of some sort. i use a 22" dream contact crash ride!
Epic
This was awesome. Thanks so much for putting this together!
@vincent @elevation i see you have more toms on the newer set up. Can you guys make an updated video with all the toms and the readings for all sizes? Thanks!
Wow 🤩🥰🥰
I wish there could be like an interview video so i could hear his voice more than just this video
Nice sound
Nice.
DW is the best! Drums sound absolutely killer! Also, do you know what DW calls that finish?
It appears to be a light tobacco satin oil
what mics are you using for this video? sounds so good...
Hope to see you soon.
Thanks for the video. Perhaps y’all can speak to your trigger/sample choices and the decision process in how to determine the proper mix between the sample and the drum. Appreciate the info @elevation worship
They don’t use samples, just use the triggers for gates.
Whats good dude
Hey Vincent! Which heads are you using for batter side?
Last question. Do you always tune the bottom head first for each drum ?
Also , is there no pillow or anything in the bass drum ? And you're only turning half a turn after finger tight for both heads?
Where Can I buy an Elevation t-shirt in Miami
Does anybody have any idea, please?
Don't you dare smile. Have some joy in what you do bro.
i think hes just quiet lol
Even in music videos he is the same
Dude I've seen him smile before especially in the "build your church" drum cover.
I’ve watched the video, but could someone please tell me what exact heads he’s using? Stuff sounds so good!
He says what he uses on the kick. he either uses remo ambassador or remo emperor (coated) on the toms, im not sure. im assuming he uses a remo p4 clear dot for the snare.
I like the sound of those toms and that bass drum. Next time I re-tune my drums I'm gonna try tuning my bass drum this way.
Next time y'all need to change out some heads check out Evans. Their level 360 heads make it SUPER easy to tune and if you're ever wanting to bring out the low end of your bass drum definitely check out the Evans EMAD Heavyweight bass drum. Lots of low end and with the adjustable dampening ring you can get three level of focus or attack(depending on what you're looking for)
Kinda would like to hear and listen to philosophy as to why the drums sound they way they do before the technical stuff
How many years have you been drumming
HELLO !!! Vincent Baynard
I know im very late to the party lol. I Love your drum sounds but word of advice to the production team. It might be advantages to not use background music when showing off the sound of the drums, so that way its easier to hear the nuances.
Me: no way that 10 year old prodigy sounds as good as I do
*watches video of them*
me: 5:54
Haha.
I guess each to their own, but that bass batter head, Powerstroke 3 already has a dot for that reason. No more need to add a patch but I suppose each to their own
What effects are on your sound mix?
does anyone have a link to the drums he was talking about?
8:52 8:48 11:32
What snare head did y’all use? Batter side.
This is great but man his mic level is all over the place :P
Estuviera bien si estuviera también en español
How will this work for a 16" kick bass drum
13" floor tom
10" TomTom
14" snare
Tuning wise ?? And what note or key pitch is he tuning to ??
curious to know too!
The video is nicely done, but remember, tuning is a matter of taste. It also needs to fit the style of music . Ultra low tunings work great in a dry studio with $10k of large diaphragm condensers, but that may not be the answer in a reverberant auditorium. Some ppl sacrifice the fundemental pitch of the drum, just to get "all that low end". Out where the sound guy sits, it may just be blap, blap, blap, instead of dim, dum, dooooommm.
Did anyone catch what batter head he’s using for the floor time and the front rack Tom?
Remo Emperor's I beleive.
Anyone who knows what snare wires is used on his BB?
anyone knows what batter head his using ? :) thanks
Still hear a bit of a scoop as if the reso head is a bit lower.
Where can I find the Ludwig Blck beauty
This video instrumental link please
Songs
Is the frequency the lug freq or center?
What are the tune not numbers for a 12 inch rack Tom?
Please subtitles in spanish 🙏
Forgive me but I’m new to this but is the frequency he’s talking about let’s say 150, is that the frequency for every lug or the frequency overall?
Overall! ^EW Team
it’s per each lug
Really wanted to know what heads and snare wires are used on the black beauty :(
Paranøia _ me too. I’m guessing emperor on the top hazy ambassador on bottom and pure sound 30 strand . I like Evans better than remo because they last longer. I have a raw brass Ludwig 14x6.5 and I’ve gotten this type sound out of my snare drum using Evans g2 and 300 drum heads with tama 42 strand snare wires I’ve used super 30s too I’m just a 42 strand guy though. Trust me I’ve been at it for a long time trying to achieve a similar sound out of my snare drums that I just saved up and bought a Ludwig and played with the heads and wires until I got something close. Double ply head on top and a 3mil head on the bottom oh and instead of moon gels I use an Evans e ring for dampening. I hope I helped I’ve been there believe me lol
They use pure sound 20 strand.
What microphones are you using?
Is that a 22” or 24” kick drum?
Maybe I missed it, did he mention the size of the kick? Or the heads used on top of toms and snare? I heard him say coated heads but not which type.
Most likely Emperors since they use remo heads
22" Bass drum, Remo Emperor coated batter heads for toms.
Are those single ply or double ply heads on the toms? my guess is single ply anyone in the comments have a guess?
Single on bottom, 2 ply top.
Do you have any muffleing in the kick?
Half turn on kick or quarter turn?
Do you put the snare on a stand when you tune both heads ? I see a lot of people saying to put it on a pillow so you don't hear the overtones of the other head while you're tuning it
Please respond when you get the chance
@@seanbusch9074 I am a year late, but he probably sets it on the drum throne to mute the other head.
Yes, he places drums on the drum throne to mute the other side. I do it on each tom, even the floor toms. Just sit them right on top the throne, tune it up, and then flip it over.
Vincent looks like one of the Cotton brothers off of DudePerfect
Thats incredible. I thought the exact same thing! Look at 0:26 seconds on "what i see" then it really looks like Cory.
I have a 6 1/2 × 14 pearl maple snare drum can I get somewhat of the same sound for this snare?
yes you can if you have similar tuning with 20-42 strand snare wires, Vincent is either using a 30 strand or 42.(edit) Vincent uses a Coated Emperor Batter side, For the bottom or aka the resonant head, I’m assuming he’s using a ambassador hazy snare side. People from bethel and stuff, they use the Power Stroke 4, some people even use the P77, that is only remo heads. I don’t know what other people use with Evans but you can do that research.
@@aijahnissi They use a 20 strand, according to their other drummer.
Which drum mic this
He’s the best drummer for elevation the guy with the long hair is just ok
Anthony Juarez oh how many tours have you played on?
Luke is an extremely talented drummer equally to Vincent. Luke has a heart for worship and is fantastic.
What heads?
May I know what brand is the Tune Bot that he is using?
No one answered? I wanted to know the same thing
It’s just tunebot. Look up tunebot, and you will see 2 different black ones, which are both really good.
My crush💞
i mean hes basically my doppleganger
Haha.
Every time I see you all I can think of initially is that you look like the Cotton twins from Dude Perfect.
He looks way better tho.
26 seconds on "what i see". It really looks like one of them
What mics are they using on their toms? Anybody know??
Ive been keen on knowing too but from my research they seem to be the AKG 414 XL ll , hope that helps!
414’s
Akg C414s. Pretty expensive mics but very popular in studios
What 22” ride cymbal is that?
Zildjian medium thin Constantinople 22.
Kick drum size ??? Please
22"
would like to marry him or his look alike
