I tried tuning my Tom’s to those frequencies and it was way higher than I heard in the video. My floor Tom is running about 60-70hz and it sounds pretty close to that.

Ah yes. Vincent and his drums. I've been waiting for this!!! It's interesting to hear the drums through whatever Mic yall are using for filming. It helps me get a feel for what they sound like just as they are with no mics on them

Great setup! I had a Ludwig Super Classic Maples back several kits ago and loved the tones. Question, I've seen that you play a DW drum kit and several videos. What is your opinion of the two? Also, I'd love to know how you have your kit set up when we're doing a mic check.

This is great actually! I’ll definitely have to show this to my brother! Quick question on the Nord though. I have one at home and just started using connecting it from MIDI to my Pro Tools Studio. I use Pro Tools’s Xpand and Air Instruments Plugins. And I have been going back to the rundown from LJ Mitchell for the piano. I noticed that he was using Spectrasonics Omnisphere grand piano, and the Ravenscroft 275. So If you use all of that, is then worth buying a Nord if you are just using other sounds from other companies? I’m just wondering because maybe there are many sounds that I haven’t yet checked out on my stage 3. Who knows, even the stage 4 could be worth the 5-6k price. Also why do you guys use Ableton compared to other DAWS like ProTools? Is there something that Avid doesn’t have in ProTools?
for backup! in case something happens with the nord. we use ableton because it's amazing for firing click/loops and modulating/making changes is super fast

Looks that way. The new ones are amazing because they shifted the center of gravity a bit so you have to do less work to get the power you need.
I know you were running Zildjian cymbals before. Do you prefer Heartbeats over those?
both are great! we use different cymbals for different applications
I think these are Vince's personal cymbals. Ballantyne used to use the Zildjian stuff mainly. However, I have noticed that Dom uses his Istanbul stuff and Otis uses his Sabian stuff now when they play. I know Luke uses a different Zildjian set up at Matthews when he plays.
Most of the recent album recordings (from There is a Cloud on, minus OCB that Harold Brown played on), Vince has been running the same/very similar Zildjian set up.
These have just been my observations anyway lol

@@kurthermann3482 Yea absolutely! I’ve also noticed. I’ve played on Heartbeat’s for a gig once, and we use Zildjian’s at our church. I do prefer sound from Heartbeat’s more. Just wish I could afford my own pair!
I just need the 20 k custom dark crash and im full. Next years im thinking of having his kit drums and those Heartbeats 22 crash and 24 ride with 17 inch hats . Those are 2 17 crashes i suppose
