Oh, that Joan Elliott! Best find ever! I stitched a couple of ornaments on fabric that is blue mottled with snowflakes already on it. It's gorgeous....I think I searched for "snowflake" or "snow" cross stitch fabric. That would make the background perfect. And your reindeer..oh my goodness! Our neighbor had two huskies, one was Donner and one was Blitzen. Their daughter named them for two of Santa's reindeer not as popular as Rudolph and Prancer and they were born during a thunderstorm. I guess their names mean thunder and lightning! As much as they loved to run they probably could have pulled that sleigh! Last week the views of the Star Link satellites over Wyoming were unusually bright and several parents took their kids out and told them those lights in that line moving across the sky were the reindeer practicing so they would be strong enough for their big Christmas journey. I saw them and could almost believe it myself! Beautiful finishes, Samantha!!!
I would stitch Santa’s Gifts on a beautiful medium blue, just lighter than the blue shadows in his cloak. But that’s me…you do you!

Ahhh , first let me say you’re explaining the feeling of Hygge….. gives ne all the feels. Christmas is my favorite for all the reasons you stated. The feeling of warm fires, snuggling under hand made quilts with my family around me. Absolutely nothing better ♥️. As for your reindeer that your pondering what to do with? When you mentioned your sister and your gift of one already to her …. I thought to myself there is your answer. A beautiful handmade gift 🎁. I think she’d LOVE IT!! As for Blitzen, I have the sleigh and a Santa of hers and have yet to pick up a reindeer. Blitzen would be a beautiful start I think . Happy wishes to you this Holiday Season 🎄

BLITZEN - I have loved the Nora reindeers and sleigh for years! I first saw the entire series in a magazine each framed on a wall going up stairs and only learned years later it was a Nora. My daughter just got me the sleigh for Christmas so I’m excited to start and want to do them all 😊 I am a total Santa and Christmas lover!

That sleigh is gorgeous! And the Joan Elliot is lovely, as are you❤ I stitch all my snowy Winter charts on opalescent fabric (and it dyes beautifully!)
I love coming home from caregiving a difficult person. I turn on all my Christmas 🎄 lighting and get a drink and something yummy to eat and settle in with a movie or read a good book! I also do this routine first thing in the morning, if I'm not running off to work at 7am.

I knew Nora Corbett when we both lived in Columbus,Ohio years ago. It is wonderful to see her magnificent artwork translated into cross stitch. And no, I have never attempted to stitch any of her or her mother's cross stitch.,sorry to say.

I am not much of a Christmas stitcher but these reindeer and sleigh are gorgeous. If I am so lucky to find the whole set then I would purchase and start stitching it. Beautiful work and I just love you and your FlossTube. Hopefully Blitzen will be my first one of the group to stitch.

I think you should mount the reindeer so that it sits on a wreath with ribbons and shiny, miniature ornaments adorning the wreath. Maybe mount it on matboard with something on the border and attached to the middle of the wreath! Blitzen!

Love your sleigh & reindeers. On the cover sheet of most of Joan E. charts, if you look under the picture you'll find the called for fabric. She almost always uses fabric from Polstitches in the UK. For your Santa, it calls for Lightning Strike. Their fabrics are wonderful.

Hi Samantha! Love, love, love your Nora reindeer, and sleigh! I can’t believe you’re considering restitching that ever so beautiful reindeer and putting the original on a project bag. If anything, I think I would put it on a bed pillow to remind me every day how much work I put into what I stitch. I would love your Blitzen pattern. I just last week received my first reindeer pattern I ordered, and that was Cupid, have a wonderful Christmas!

Hi, Samantha! Thank you for another fun sitchy visit. My husband and I are homebodies and love nothing more than being home together with the kitties! Everything is about being comfy, cozy and *home*. Your holiday decorating is beautiful!! Love the reindeer!! Including Blitzen! What a sweet table mate! You know, having heard you mention your Embroidery Guild, it motivated me to search for an EGA chapter near me, here in the US. There’s one that meets fairly close to my house. In early January they sponsor an All Day Stitch day that my sister and I will be attending, and then I’ll plan to start going to regular meetings with their first 2024 meeting in February. I’m really excited! I hope you and your family have a lovely holiday season (with lots of stitching!)! ~Lynn
