  • Instrumental track from an unlabeled mono 10-inch 45 RPM demo acetate from Western Recorders, Hollywood, CA, circa 1964-1966. The voice at the beginning yelling "Let's Go!" is audio engineer Chuck Britz. It sounds like this was cut at the tail end of a recording session, and the studio time was running out! It may have had a vocal overdub, or it may have been just a throw-away B-side (although at 3 minutes, it would have been pretty long for a throw-away). Nice guitar playing (Tommy Tedesco? Al Casey?) and piano at the end (Don Randi? Leon Russell?), and the strange repeating riff sounds like a stand-up bass played high on the neck (Lyle Ritz? Chuck Berghofer? Jimmy Bond?).

I have many fond memories of recording & mixing in Studio 3.

I’m more than a little jealous. It’s the one time and place and history (the 60s era) I wish I could visit/live in.
