    I have had and used my Eon 15G2s for years of reliable service. I will be moving up to the Eon 615s this summer. Pairing it with my DBX drive rackPA2. Thanks for review.

    I've owned two of these for about 5-6 years now and they're are workhorse speakers. I team it with a Mackie ProFX12 and it's a killer clean setup. Enough power for a duo or trio indoors / outdoors while barely lighting up the output meter light on the mixer. People are bitching about the new ones because of having to go through pages to get through settings....gotta love the old "here are your buttons!" approach of these speakers. These are also great FRFR if you want to run an amp sim pedal or board into them.

    Hey there, i was thinking of buyign a pair of JBL eon 615 but my question is if for the price this is the best option compared to other speakers on the market, also i keep thinking if its worth to wait on a newer line or just go for it, i would very much appreciate your opinion and generally would you recommend them. Thanks!

    I love Mackie Srm series. At this moment Mackie Srm 450 v3 here in Portugal is 376 eur. And JBL Eon 612 is at 339 euros.
    Between these 2 models which one you choose and why?

    • @KylesTechChannel01
      @KylesTechChannel01 Před 4 lety

      I use Mackie SRM-450s as my mains, and a pair of EON 612s as stage monitors. The EONs also get used at smaller music playback gigs. If you're going for one or the other, definitely go for the SRM-450s, I find that they have a lot more punch and a much greater distance is covered.

    Sorry, but I would like to add a different explanation for the woofer wave guide that you described at about the 8:00 minute mark. The purpose of the woofer wave guide is to make the horizontal exit wave front of the woofer narrower, hence “increasing” the coverage width of the woofer at its upper frequency range, from 1 kHz to 1.8 kHz. Without this woofer waveguide, there would be interference cancellation between the left portion of the woofer cone and the right portion of the woofer cone, as perceived from the side of the speaker. The addition of this woofer wave guide “narrows” the woofer’s effective radiating area, hence reducing the off-axis interference for shorter-wave frequencies from the woofer, therefore “increase” the woofer’s angular coverage of its upper frequencies. The end result is, like you said, to get consistent frequency response for everyone, albeit for a different reason =) The speaker, even with this waveguide, still does not limit the low frequencies below 500 Hz outside the hF horn’s coverage. Your will still hear the low boom only with no midrange and HF when you move behind the speaker’s frontal plane.

      bro do what sounds best. I got mine a couple months back still paying em off but the eq sounds seem quite negligible. Just keep it flat you're gonna have the most change from your voice actually and the track and making sure the mic is good and the levels are right.

    • @SynthToshi
      @SynthToshi Před 4 lety

      You need to buy a digital board and eq the settings if you want to be a pro. Each persons voice is different so to leave it flat with highs and mid high low might be best for you.

    • @glisteningkabana8154

      Glistening Kabana yea i returned the speaker months ago. Went with an EV and the bluetooth is not great on the ev but it works. Wish it was as easy as the fender fortis, the bluetooth is great on those units.

      killyamomz Ah cool. Yeah it’s odd JBL didn’t add the feature of streaming music off your phone. Although for gigging I’d prefer a wired connection as opposed to Bluetooth, but for at home, definitely Bluetooth streaming is super convenient.
