    One of my first cars was a Sierra estate, and then went on to Mondeo estate, have gone German now but I did love those cars, very dissapointed with this one though, was hoping for so much more from it.

    I have had every shape of Mondeo... Best ones in my opinion was the MK3... My favourite was my 2006 2.0 Ghia X Automatic.
    Fantastic build quality and extremely roomy but sadly liked the fuel pumps!!!

      Totally agree. I have exactly that one. And very true. Drinks sooo much. At the beginning I thought it was because it has a 4 speeds gearbox but man, 200milles for a full tank if only driving in town…
      Luckily I use it once or none per month…
      When the time to change it arrives I’ll have a big problem… what to get next that reliable and so we’ll equipped..
      What did you jump to???

    The best Mk5 version has to be the Titanium X Sport 2015 in Ruby Red...yes I have one plus a 2009 2.2 Mondeo Titanium X Sport silver both are superb to drive.

    Not too sure about it being one of Ford's most popular models? Sales have plummeted over the years and you hardly seem them on UK roads anymore. My bet is they discontinue it before long.

      I mean have you seen the boot? Have they used battery technology from 90s or how do they get it so big? Passat doesn't look like that. Mondeo sedan boot look totally unusable

    What's the point of a large estate with the boot the same size as a VW Golf?

    • @BoeingvsAirbus1578
      @BoeingvsAirbus1578 Před 4 lety +3

      If you lift the boot floor, there is more space underneath for a few items. It’s not about total Litre volume though, it’s about usability. Being an estate, you use the boot space for its length not just total volume. The car is also massive inside and has massive legroom in the back.

    • @johnatron4140
      @johnatron4140 Před 3 lety +4

      It isn't. The battery packs are in the boot and the motor is attached to the engine I'm pretty sure.

    Mondeo needs an overhaul it was late to the party on its release and now it's aged again. @Ford step it up or get rid of it, the sector for this car is tough enough for its size. Even interior is showing its age, I suggest with that dashboard centre console have a full tesla like screen. Much more futuristic. Oh and the engine line up for Ford just ridiculous.

    • @stm81mcn18
      @stm81mcn18 Před 8 měsíci

      They're seriously behind Audi and VW for example as an A4 or Passat/Arteon rival. For the price of this car when it came out was ridiculous because you don't get an overwhelming interior either.

    Ford's Powershit gearbox an issue?

    • @shroomyesc
      @shroomyesc Před 4 lety +1

      The current Mondeo doesn't get the powershift in any powertrain or trim, this hybrid has a CVT and the diesel models get a traditional 8-speed auto.
      Edit: To correct myself, in the UK the Mondeo does still get the powershift if you choose a petrol automatic model in Zetec or Titanium, otherwise it's the 8-speed auto.

    So what does the ‘hybrid’ add then? No EV range given and an mpg even larger vehicles can better. A non-event of a car, take a standard car put a large heavy battery in the boot, take the turbo charger off the engine and call it eco friendly? Even your average Ford owner can see through that greenwash. Ford should be doing better but since the oil corporations have a say in it’s existence that isn’t very likely is it :-)

    • @BoeingvsAirbus1578
      @BoeingvsAirbus1578 Před 4 lety +3

      The hybrid is quite efficient, I have had almost 70mpg from mine but that’s short journeys. On longer motorway runs I get about 47mpg at 70-80mph. Brilliant really for a near 190bhp 2.0 petrol in a car this size! £55 to fill from empty gets me 450 miles just driving normally which is bloody good. You get the hybrid if you aren’t doing the miles to justify the diesel. And that really is all there is to it.

      @@BoeingvsAirbus1578 To be honest I think that hybrids are meant to be driven in town. Outside a diesel would be better, faster. I want to buy a hybrid, since I drive mostly in town but I can't find more info about reliability and warranty of the batteries. Have you had any problems with it?
