    Almost bought one of these on sale ($79.99) because it was recommended by Airship Isabella. However, I then found out that the dies were $65.00 at the cheapest. When you are working with many different size rivets, snaps, eyelets and gromets it would take a small fortune. I just have a hard time believing it's worth the money.

      coldwind I agree. I encountered the same issues and didn't purchase. Tandy is becoming a greedy company IMO

      I bought it at the sale price and love it. The trick is to watch the sales. The dies go on sale Around the end of the year at the holidays, so if you buy a part each time there’s a sale it’s not so bad. And you add to your tool collection.

      Michelle L. Zerangue , you are absolutely correct. I bought the gray Craftool Pro handpress at Tandy’s doorbuster Black Friday sale. Since then I’ve been getting dies as they have been on sale, until I have just about all of them now. I used to HATE eyelets and snaps, now it’s a breeze to put them in....and no more banging! It also gives a cleaned, mor3 professional look.

    These look like they do a really neat job but I think having to change the dies over twice per snap would get a bit frustrating

      This is for production of lots of items. First, do all the hardware on the 50 items of the same type. Then, change out the dies to do the second part on the 50 items.

    I need to use this machine and dye for 10.5mm snap buttons, I am trying to place snap buttons on a newsboy cap so the snaps will be hidden behind the visor or brim..my question is what number dye's will I need for this 10.5mm snap button and also, how flexible are the dye's when it comes to using them for different sizes...will a dye for 10.5mm button work for slightly bigger/smaller snap buttons ? thanks

    Just purchased one of these & trying it now...both the male & female parts of Tandy Line 24 snaps are spinning even after multiple presses. Also purchased 200 (nickel & brass)...did the snap size change?!?! Tandy is imprinted on the new ones. HELP PLEASE!!! Thx

    I make championship belts for a side living and the leather I work with range from 7oz-10oz. I tried to use the LINE 24 attachments and they worked well but the male and female snaps are still 'spinning' since they were not pressed down enough. How would I safely adjust the machine to address this problem?

    • @TandyLeatherCo
      @TandyLeatherCo  Před 7 lety +1

      Roberto Slama,
      The black setting dies you place into the hand press have to be changed between setting male and female snaps into a piece of leather. One set is for male, the other 2 are female.
      Try changing out the setting dies before you set your female snap.

    • @robertoslama331
      @robertoslama331 Před 7 lety

      I did and it turns out, the posts inside of the female snaps' caps are too long. So, I just sanded them down until they mushroomed just enough to grab the opposite end through the leather without causing the cornwing

    Just a thought...I have several dies and it is very frustrating when trying to identify which dies go for each use, i.e., rivets, snaps, etc. Is there an. easy way to identify the dies?

    • @AdinoEznite
      @AdinoEznite Před 5 lety

      go to the store and have them check them by looking at what they have there. Then put them in small ziplock bags with labels. You might also scratch onto the sides what # it is so you can ID it later.

    • @BoojiePanda
      @BoojiePanda Před 5 lety

      Plano boxes with dividers. Just drop a piece of paper in each section stating what die is what (or tape it to the top of the lid). They're originally used for fishing tackle, but you can put anything you want in these plastic boxes. I have a large one just for all of my sewing presser feet with paper and writing on it attached to the lid so I know what foot is what.

    • @AdinoEznite
      @AdinoEznite Před 5 lety +1

      @@BoojiePanda That's a great idea! You could also use a Sharpie or a scratch tool to put a number on each die to identify which slot it goes in.

      Good on you for supporting slave-wages and poor quality work-manship. When the skilled and reasonably-paid work in your country is dried up, and you are forced to work for slave-wages too, because of the way you and your country-people voted with your dollars, and the fact all your skilled jobs will be exported to China, I'm sure that will be great for you too.
      (I'm not saying anything about the cost, value or quality of the machine in this video. Just your purchasing decisions.)

      Surely the Tandy setter is also made in China; perhaps at the same factory where Manny Fernandez' setter was made.
