People tend to forget the only reason Toedscruel isn't broken is because his ability is holding him back.
His ability is very niche, so in most cases it is better to not have (base 100 Spore Yessir) but in a few rare cases it is good to have its ability

Shiny Pokemon only show up as shiny in their 3D model while in the PC. Their 2D sprite doesn't change so Dylan probably hovered over Mewtwo and saw it was shiny :)

The problem is that when you presented a pre-evolution, people voted for it as it was presented, not for what it would become. Meowth is no longer Meowth once it evolves, after all. You may like Gyarados, but that doesn't mean you are okay with taking Magikarp into battle.

This is probably my favourite version of these battles. Great idea.
I really like Archaludon, so I'm not surprised that it did well in the votes. Stamina ability + Body Press with it's naturally high Defense lets it hit like a freight train, and it's also a strong special attacker and as such is a great option for moves like Draco Meteor & Flash Cannon. And then give it a Flying Tera Type and Tera Blast and you give it a way to turn it's two main weaknesses, Ground & Fighting, into an Immunity & Resistance respectively. And then top it all off by giving it an Assault Vest to handle it's lower Special Defense. I used mine as my team's "wall", and the thing pretty much soloed the entire fight with Terastallized Terapagos. The thing is bulky as hell and can hit like an absolute truck, and it can also counter Pecharunt, Munkidori, & Fezandipiti, with only Okidogi having the Fighting type giving it an answer against Archaludon, but even then their Toxic Chain abilities won't work on Archaludon thanks to it being a Steel type....though I actually used my Scizor to handle the Loyal Three rather than my shiny Archaludon.

There is a world of difference between choosing the best and choosing the worst Pokémon... A Pokémon that is no one favourite might still not be actively disliked by anybody. And a generally well liked Pokémon may polarise enough to have haters. I think, they kinda forgot that in their guessing
