It’s rly insane. I’m in computer architecture rn, and one of my classmates was able to build the 5 stage pipeline in minecraft
Except it isnt an accurate simulation of a transistor? These computers work using logic gates built from redstone. These are very inefficient computationally due to all the extra processing in the redstone + general game stuff (but look really nice) . Normal logic is exceptionally easy to simulate on a computer and in bespoke software can run at tickrates in the MHz range. Computers are actually very easy to simulate on themselves as long as each computer has the main logic functions in its ALU (AND, NOT, OR, XOR)

I love how restone recreations look like giant computer parts.
Because Redstone replicates computers. That is literally what it does with gates and such. Basic computers use this. Hell, magic the gathering is turing complete and can replicate problem solving. So if you crate the gates and nodes the replicate exactly how computers work by have 1 and 0 with is either positive or negative signal to that receptor. If place correctly you can signal the right time as to create complex patterns of positive and negative thus....computer transistors.
This is VERY basic and simplified version from someone that know VERY basic and simplified version of computers from studying and learning about them.
Yeah, Redstone wasn't originally designed with this intent, but became it as they added more and more features to Redstone from comparators and observers to the new logic gates that function and new blocks the create signals such as target.
How do you think the stuff works?
@@crazynachos4230binary using redstone
@@MrReaperHandI think even just redstone dust combined with redstone torches (and solid blocks) is turing complete. A comparator can be created from 2 consecutive torches. An or gate is two seperate redstone signals feeding into two seperate comparators from which you then connect the outputs. A not gate is a redstone torch, you probably know. An and gate is an or gate with inverted inputs and and an inverted output, which you probably know too. And then make some more gates, then some logic circuits, than combine them to make control circuits and computer parts. Then combine them and yeah, you have a fully functioning computer.
@@atomgutan8064 yes you could theoretically make a full redstone computer with just dust and torches (not even repeaters, you can use redstone torches to replace them)

A computer is just an abstraction of a combination of computer components, which are abstractions of, for example, combinations of logic circuits, which are abstractions of combinations of logic gates, which are abstractions of combinations of wires and transistors, which are abstractions of combinations of semiconductors, which are abstractions of combinations of electrons and nucleons, which are abstractions of combinations of quarks, which, as I know, are considered to be fundemental particles of the universe as of now.
