- At Google I/O 2012, the Project Glass team took product demoing to a new level. We worked with some of the world's top athletes, combined skydiving and mountain biking, and shared the experience -- through their eyes -- with the world.

One of the most breathtaking live demos I have ever seen. Well done all involved.
The product was way ahead of its time.
the fact that this was a decade ago feel kinda weird, I'm glad that even though not many people used it at first, google glass has come to many people recently
It was simply amazing...best video ever seen!!!
These Googlers are just amazing...I wanna be one of them :)
11 Years later, i’m watching this through my Apple Vision Pro.😂
They actually had repeaters on the roof of the building to maintain the signal with the jumpers. Live streaming video of what you are seeing is revolutionary! Imagine every traffic stop or police interaction on video!
It's not only a camera, but they did only show that aspect of it in the demo.
Truly the most 'over the top' promo yet done! And somehow 'understated' at the same time. cool.
I should know, as was part of many Microsoft launches over the decades.
This is an amazing tech demo! Brilliant way of showing how cool Google and Glass is!
Who’s watching in 2022?
yes
I'm watching it in 2024.
Love the guy's reaction at the end...NAILED IT!!
I am very exited to watch the video. In deed, the glass is very innovative.
Imagine using Glass for paintball teams.. live tactics and great overview!
And now, we have Apple Vision Pro. What a journey, man!
bizarre
I started thinking about him the first second I saw him. Him wearing glass and being on a big stage made it even better.
THAT is how you present a new product. Awesome!
most comments are 3 or 4 years ago, guess people do forget about this product
I didn't, I've been waiting patiently for this garbage to fail.
that's because they delete the ridiculing comments
Yeah shame lol
Who waching 2021...?
well not me
this is pretty bold cause you never know if there might be an accident and this is all live
Best Tech Unveil EVER
"Don't Try This At Home" Dafuq does he think i'm Phineas & Ferb?
Alphabet's legal department would have reminded him to say that
Wireless GoPro or Apple FaceTime is real, here today, and works! And everybody can afford it!
This idea can get so much better.
Technology displayed at it finest. Can't wait to mine.
well camera needs to improve but aside from that i cant wait :D
You can tell that this seemed way cooler in their heads than when it actually happened. How contrived and awkward...
It was actually cool in execution as well.
Live demo was great! No doubt Google glass would be very useful in near future.
Doubt
What an entrance. Truly one of a kind. I mean a laptop in a manilla envelope is not a small feat, but Sergey nails this one.
8:42 YAHOO!
He reminds me of Tony Stark
I'm looking at you through the glass.. don't know how much time has passed.
it's not just that, and what was impressive was that it was live stream.
I am so fucking dying to join Google, hhahaha, one of my dream jobs :)
did you ever join google?
@@namratasrinivasa7568 it was my dream, didn't join, because it was not that big dream but love the vibe of Google so I concentrate more in my own company now. :)
@@YhalHtetAung let me join your company
I remember like yesterday how excited we were. But, ended up with a lot of frustration like a lot of other Google products ended. I think it was the most excited product of our near tech future. But, somehow Google could not maintain this while it has a lot of educated engineers and support of the crowded and excited tech world. It's a pity. I'd want to have one of them.
Ok, it's not just a crappy camera, it's an augmented reality display that's completely hands free. Personally, I'm exited for this, just a shame we have to wait two years until this is released.
found out they would implement prescription glasses for these.. awesome!
MY MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN!!!!!
Will we ever see these things again?
How is this better than a video, which we already have?
LOL im late, yes... But this was awesome!!! Eager to see whats gonna happen at Google I/O tomorrow... Nice!!! 👍
man ! i can totally see the overinfinite amount of possibilities offered by this techjnology that will revolutionize our society and change the world forever :
MORE POV PORN !
This is amazing
Google apparently is going to have a spec. for frames that are compatible with the Glass module. So basically you buy a "Glass compatible" frame, get it fitted with prescription lenses as you would normally, and then Glass goes right on it.
this is what we call innovation ...gr8 job....
this is just awesome. cant wait to get me a pair lol
This is awesome.
soooooo, it's essentially the camera i already have on my phone, only now i can awkwardly strap it to my head.... amazing -_-
that was flipping awesome
i cant wait brother
Thanks for the video.
I need/want the google glass now!
Currently with my smartphone I can only set time reminders but with glass I'll be able to set reminders based on facial recognition. My productivity will be boosted
this would come in real handy in an exam.
You have to remember that this is an early prototype so of course they haven't perfected everything yet. Besides, little kinks and glitches are expected. What piece of technology have you used that has never malfunctioned in the slightest? Anyways, this video just shows off one aspect of the product. I'm sure there's more to come and bringing the concept to life is commendable and pretty awesome to say the least.
What tech would you consider useful?
We have phones that combine ipods, computers, books, and a plethora of other things. Are those useless too? Or is it only useless when they're reformed into glasses for ease of access?
This makes me wonder, since this is a project,if we wait a little more, the cameras will be hd.
Imagine HD first person view.
Oh god, i love the future.
I don't think its gonna be a problem. Cameras are getting better and better every years. The only down side I saw here was the lag but on the other side , they were streaming about 10 live feed + more shit, need tons of bandwith for that.
Dude that's freakin awesome I wonder how Much they cost?!!
The one thing you have to remember this is in the alpha stage, most likely it will be 2 years before it actually hits the market.
WILL YOU HAVE A LEFT EYE VERSION! Im kinda semi-blind in my right eye so having it on my left eye would be better.
Putting a camera on the edge of each lens would be cool. You could stream live 3-D footage of what people are seeing.
look it up, when I found out about google glass, I well... googled it. And then there was a site that showed pictures of patents and basic schematics for the patent. Both Microsoft and Apple have patents.
Just an idea: what if the glass came with a bracelet-like device which houses the camera for videocalls?
I need to watch the video again. With all that jumping, I've just missed the demonstration.
Well, this isn't the only video of Google glasses! We HAVE seen the 'search the internet' or 'yelp places' feature with the glasses and this is just another aspect. I hadn't even thought about this before..its more than just attaching a camera to your head! It makes it available for more people at a social networking level-Be at the wedding you couldn't fly to, be in the middle of a protest in Egyptian -in real time, jeez-now your friends can really show you what you look like coming..and going
Google were ahead of their time. Apple Vision Pro have price tag 3x than GX. Full circle lool
that WAS insane
To all skeptics: This device will function like a smart phone when it's finished. This is an early prototype merely demonstrating one of the many future functions of the glasses.
i didnt even have a clue about this haha and it was posted over a year ago pretty awesome
Amazing
One minute of this video was about Google Glass, and nine minutes were about extreme sports.
I think the camera probably is better than that, considering the fact that they were streaming it live. :)
This is just the beginning as i heard that Augmented Reality and VR eye contact lenses will be available from 2014.
its more then that, its a mix of gps, google search and texting plus a few other things as well
There was a movie with that kind of idea. Can't recall the name of it for the life of me though. Was a 90s movie.
Basically it went beyond homemade porn and you could actually have your brain respond to how the person who recorded it behaved. Pleasure, fear, anxiety, etc would be transmitted as well.
Was an interesting concept and kind of a potential look to the future of these kinds of tech :).
This is so cool
im ready.
I agree. But the commercials make it seem like it's high quality/high fps streaming. Blatant lie.
A head mounted camera has already been done, they use them in a lot of sports already. goggle cams are $200 and you can get them now.
i wonder how much they will cost when it does finally be released...
amazing
The future is still possible.
we can now use this glass to view AR
woaah, that's COOOOL!!
great step in technological advancement
its just a camera ? soo innovative
I think they're working on add ons ? Or working them into your prescriptions.
Likely less expensive than a lot of people would think: I'd expect it to be around the price of the original iphone (whatever that was).
Amazing:)
AWESOMENESS -LEVEL INFINITY
Love the fist pump at the end ... "phew!"
Curious to what the heads-up display looks like...
I want one of these
awesome
I want a Google glass in 2022
you can still get them... for a price!
WOW!!!!
It's really nice!!
Damn Cool
What wireless carrier powers Glass? What wireless company did they partner with?
It can really be used in some situations, like sports and peek...
how is this different than a smaller version of a typical head mounted camera?
Did I miss something in this video? Where is the augmented reality? Only thing this showed was a camera stream. Whats so cool about that?
