I think I found out why I liked this song as soon as I listened to it. When I was a kid around 2006 my mom gave me a CD that her friends in a band made. I remember loving the ambient parts with guitar playing in the back. When I first listened to this opening back then I knew it reminded me of something. That's actually quite arguable. This same band released a song about 2 years prior called Kami to Bara. It's about a guy who comes along a godly power but misuses it hence the world going to shit. It's not as intense or energetic but it's more accurate to the plot of a Death Note than the opening. Nightmare is a great band so you should listen to their other material as well anyway

When I was 11 or 12 years old I watched death note for the first time and it was there that I started to become interested in anime. Today in 2020 I didn't watch an anime as striking as death note, simply the best anime in history.

When I was 11 or 12 years old I watched death note for the first time and it was there that I started to become interested in anime. Today in 2020 I didn't watch an anime as striking as death note, simply the best anime in history.
omg same thing happened to me. death note was my first anime when i was like 12 and it got me into anime (im not into it as much anymore) but ive realized this year that idc what anyone says death note is actually the best anime there is. everything from the plot to the animation and aesthetics and also the characters are so original and complex. its amazing.
