I grew up outside Philadelphia, and you can bet I heard a lot of the O'Jays and the Stylistics on the radio, and the Spinners were a big deal too, but my only exposure to Bloodstone in the '70s was seeing their movie on TV. Maybe Philly soul was just too daunting for the Kansas CIty sound to compete with, especially in the Northeast?
