I think Ira Glasser had a pre-podcast radio career on NPR ,maybe called "This American Life" ,which consisted of 'true stories ' ,well told, & looked at unusual/ unseen/ or original aspects & happenings, sad or humorous or both...
Very entertaining & interesting----especially good listening while driving.. Check it out.

As a millennial concerned about the virus, I can tell you why my concern was so high earlier on.
SImply put, it wasn't about me. I didn't care if I caught some bug. Perhaps with the exception of some of the potentially-permanent side-effects. Several friends got it, and they basically coughed a few times. Some didn't even know they had it.
But my dad had several co-morbidities. I work with a lot of old guys in Engineering. They mostly had co-morbidities. My sister has several young kids, which was a concern. And then with all of that, the medical system hadn't caught up with the sudden change.
If this wasn't contageous and spreading to people who ARE vulnerable, I would never have worn the mask. I wouldn't have cared if anyone else wore masks, especially anti-vaxxers and other science-denialists. If some Alex Jones type wants to follow some conspiracy and get a disease, then if they die, they die. They want to deny natural selection? Let them have a demonstration.
So while I generally agree with Maher's skepticism over the virus, I totally disagree with his general narrative about us being spineless and living in fear, afraid of some bug that won't kill us. We aren't mostly afraid for OURSELVES, we're afraid for those who WOULD be affected by the virus, and doing our part to protect THEM, and to establish herd immunity to stop the spread and let the virus go extinct.

No one bashed Gen X. The question was horseshit, so they all went on a tangent about ageism.
And to answer the question, it doesn't say anything about Gen X who the candidates are. Despite the sham that are the primaries, the general public doesn't get to choose who ends up in the primaries. The railroading of Bernie proved that. What you get is a choice between two establishment selected candidates that are only really beholden to their corporate donors. With that said, the Democrats usually put up the less corrosive of the politi-bots, and I'd crawl over broken glass to vote against a fascist like Trump.

Sure, rich people who have obits in the Times might live far past 85 but on average men don’t live much past 79 in the US. It isn’t an age-ist idea to run candidates who might see the future they make decisions for.

Dad always had a rule back in highschool. If you go to a friends place/party and drink, whatever, I can't stop you. But if you decide to drive, get pulled over, and arrested, you're on your own. That enough kept me straight. Fear of consequence.
