I hope you feel better. The weather seems to be crazy all over the place! They're predicting colder and wetter than usual for winter here, I hope that doesn't mean another crazy snow storm that takes out our grid haha.

I think it was unfairly hated on because it looked different. It’s a fun game. Not perfect but certainly enjoyable.

Yep I grew up with ADHD and it didn't exist as I'm a Generation X kid. lol I was a hyper kid and was always disrupting the class because I was bored. Of course my parents and teachers thought I was just goofing off and not paying attention. I was practically sent to the principal's office everyday for talking and disrupting the class. My parents even tried to cut sugar out of my diet and of course it didn't help at all. The good thing was when they switched me from white bread to wheat bread. I hated white bread after that. Anyway my parents realized many years later that I needed special attention and it wasn't totally my fault. due to my condition. And I could kind of see that Lady KAG has something like I have. As I have my moments here and there. lol
Haha white bread isn’t good. I only like it in rare occasions. It sucks when you have an undiagnosed issue that makes everyone think you’re just bad. My dad was dyslexic through school, couldn’t read and couldn’t write. Everyone thought he was just bad so he really missed out on a good education. Thankfully he did alright for himself and started our family business that we’re taking over.
@@KillerArcadeGames Yeah the only white bread I care for is sourdough or french bread. Yeah my brother was dyslexic and had trouble reading and such. I think he was partially dyslexic though. I actually am partially dyslexic as sometimes when I read numbers I switch them around. lol Good on your dad for pulling through and creating the family business! And hope all works out for you when you take the business over. Hope to catch out on a live stream on a weekend again!
I watched the mk1 story mode here on the tube. It was almost 4 hours. The ending was crazy.
Do they include the fights on those videos? Or just story cutscenes?
@KillerArcadeGames the one I watched, eliminated the bulk of the match. It just showed the start and end of the battle, no fatalities, you can view the fatals and other caranage on separate vids. There is another that shows every second of story mode with battles, but that is over 5 hours. 4 was enough, trust me.
MK 1 is pretty fun & it does have a block button 😂 personally I don’t like a lot of the fatalities but the brutality often hit the spot better and feel more like the old school fatalities.

I was planning to do that with this MK4 cabinet. But the more I thought about it, I'm fine with emulating the other machines as long as I can have them running on a CRT. Thats what I'm working on at the moment. Trying to find a cabinet has been rough though.
Awesome vid! Love!! MK4 my favorite next to UMK3. MK1 looks ok but...i love my old school MK games. Your not the old guy i feel the same way brother the new MK1 character movements are stiff and the gameplay is very sluggish and clunky. I'm an OG arcade player from the 90's
It’s nice to hear I’m not alone there. I want to like them, I just can’t get into them. It would be so cool to enjoy new MK games again.
Well we have the same opinion on the new MK1, It absolutely does not appeal to me despite having the sickiest fatalities ever !! But once you've seen them all theres nothing that interest me in these new games, they feel off, they spoiled the whole game before it even came out showing off all fatalities, trailers, secrets. Everything is spoiled before it comes out these days. At least in our time we had the luxury of discovering stuff, weeks/months after release. Now its just fill to the brim with cosmetic garbage, Kombat packs, DLC for which you need to pay extra for !! its totally insane and i won't ever encourage that. The gameplay is the same old crap we had 12 years ago when they introduced MK 11 (which was good at the time) but after that they copy/pasted everything from that game to the new iterations and they just can't come up with something new anymore. Not mentionning they keep on screewing up their own lore by going back in time in every game, not that the stories ever made any sense but its kinda dum. I would rather get a reboot of the original game with original characters and controls it would be much more enjoyable. Of course younger kids are not going to agree with me but I don't give a flying F K. Old arcade games still rules !
First time I was able to catch a video in this series the day it was posted, personally the day is going good for me, also this game is something that looks interesting, but honestly I suck at the series so idk if I would do well lol.

nice video as always Chris. Regarding your thoughts on modern MK, maybe you'd enjoy MK9 if you haven't played it already. It was just called mortal kombat but was a soft reboot and referred to as MK9. You mentioned the arcade feel and a return to form with the old school and that's essentially what they did. Their special edition even included an arcade stick with the x layout too. It's a pretty good game, if you're ever bored check out some videos and have a gander at the arcade stick too. Might be what you're looking for :)
I’ll look into it! I’ve thought about trying to make my own fight stick but I don’t know if that would work with consoles.
@@KillerArcadeGames I might be wrong on the details but I believe if you use a brook board it’ll be universal for most if not all consoles.
Brook makes USB adapters for all kinds of controllers but they have an actual fight stick board you can use if you want to DIY. Last time I checked it worked with all generations before this most recent one. Not 100% sure if it works on ps5 and the new Xbox yet.
A lot of the FGC uses brook universal boards in their fight sticks so they don’t need to carry a bunch of adapters around :)
Can't really play MK4 on mame. It's choppy and its crashes most of the time. How did you get it to run pretty good on your old A1up setup? What's your favorite port of it?? I'm trying to get into the game a little bit. I like MK Gold on Dreamcast, but it's more of a remake than an original arcade copy. What do you think?
My 1Up cabinet had the arcade PCB inside. My favorite port would probably be the Dreamcast. The PC version acts the most like the arcade though. No loading of a save upon boot. The graphics aren’t nearly as good though, it’s based off the PS1 port.

Why do Monday's suck ?
The first day of the work/school week. It just has a feeling of dread for many. I find it to be a weird realization that most of us do that same thing over and over again. For me, Monday's are a reminder that it's important to change it up once in a while and appreciate the free time. I'm looking forward to a couple of mini vacations coming soon.
Mk 1 is more retconned crap. Slow fighting. Kameo characters are kinda pointless. If you got the switch version, you have been ripped off. Crashing. Slow down. Piss poor port. Also keep rpg type leveling out of my mortal kombat. It’s not necessary. Ed Boon is nowhere as creative as he thinks he is. WB is right up there with terrible publishers like Activision and Ubisoft.
