    This series is amazing. I hope there will be more. It would be so nice to get a re-release Tamiya build or something around those lines. Tekin products are the best, I only use Tekin in my race cars.

    Had my Tekin 411-p2 since 1993 in my RC10T. Loved Tekin products so much purchasing a Tekin RSX pro for either Traxxas Rustler 4x4 vxl or Tamiya CC-01.

    Just ordered a Tekin RSX pro can’t wait till it gets here. 🙂 i got this esc along with Tekin Gen 4 spec T 13.5 turn for my Tamiya CC-01. Alittle much power should have got 17.5 but other then that best power system.

    I like to put a small piece off red heat shrink on the positive battery lead before soldering the battery connector. Once that's soldered just warm the heat shrink onto the wire as close to the connector as you can get it. No issues cross connecting

      Haven't had many switch issues in the 15-ish years we've been using it. It is a nice double contact switch and works great.

    Ah, I was wondering if there were any drawbacks to soldering the wires horizontally onto the posts vs. vertically, as is usually the case. I need to re-solder the motor leads on the RSX Pro I have installed in my TLR 5.0 DC Elite. The loop is slightly touching the body when I put it on, and even though I have a little slack, the light pressure is enough to want to lift the front of the ESC off the tape (it is one LOW-PROFILE body). At least with the horizontal joints, it will sit lower on the chassis. 😁 Nice episode!
    My Tekin count is up to 2 RSX Pros, an RS Spec, 2 Gen4 R-Specs (17.5, 13.5), a Gen3 R-Spec (17.5), and 3 T-180's! Oh, and a HotWire 3.0 to manage all the goodies, of course!

      No problem soldering them on horizontally, that is usually my preferred positioning if the car layout allows!

    Possibly looking at this for 1/10 truggy, is it possible to do basic programming with just the esc or do you need to hotwire?

    Great video as always , I was wondering if you would install the fan on the rsx pro paired with an 6.5t and driving hard at the track , would the esc become hot ?

    • @TekinRacing
      @TekinRacing  Před 4 lety +2

      I would run the fan if it's over 80F out just to keep things as cool as possible. Normally I don't run a fan and never really see over 3 LEDs on the temp indicator, which is about 160F.

      Nothing is soldered to our ESCs when new. The cap can be installed in a few different positions, so we leave that up to the user.

    This has nothing to do with the video. I have a 2wd slash that I would like to put my Tekin 4x4 sct 4600kv motor in , my slash is a on road basher. I have the RX8 esc new to. I run a Hobbywing 10.5 right now but want better top end speed plus it gets hot on 3s. So will the RX8 4ESC and 4x4 4600kv motor be better thyan what I have. I like your 5mm shaft. Plus I like 3s power.

    🤦‍♂️ first I had to worry about kv rating on brushless motors now they have turn counts also.... Thought it was bad enough on brushed motors with turns and slots. This hobby keeps getting more complicated all the time 😂

    • @TekinRacing
      @TekinRacing  Před 4 lety

      This style of motor has been rated in turns for near two decades now though. 4-pole motors we tend to rate by KV rather than turns because they are all low turn motors usually between 1-5T.
