As a kid I loved this theme song so much I taped in on my cassette recorder and played it over and over again. I don't know what made me think of the song/show but decided to search for it. Thank you for posting this. I’ve never heard it again since 1974, but I’ve never forgotten it! There’s another little short theme they played whenever the bears were walking. I’ve played this on piano and sung it often, just by ear and faulty memory. Nearly 50 years??? Yikes!
Oh man - I just thought of this theme tune, after over 30-odd years of not having even thought about it as far as my recollection goes, and I just suddenly hummed it out (with nobody else around!) after it decided to surface in my mind just now, with every single note correct and a good few of the words intact as well ('Sierra majesty...she is my life to me, she is my home...'), BEFORE even looking for this anywhere! :D

For years this theme tune has played on and off in my mind because I loved it as a kid but I didn’t know where it was from and now I’ve found it!! For some reason though, I thought Mark Harmon started in it (probably muddled him up from another series I used to watch)… At least I now know the series wasn’t just my imagination, I thought perhaps I’d made the whole thing up for the past 40 years!!😂

My goodness I've found it. One of the first songs I worked out in a basic way. Aged 3 or 4. Freaked my Mum out.

The music is so beautiful it made me sad but in a nice way. I used to enjoy looking at it.
