I was thinking the same about the highlighter. Was wondering if it looks like pure nude. I immediately ordered it, as I always wanted a natural peachy affordable highlighter, and I was mixing colors and repressing myself, as nothing was how I needed it.
Hey!thank you for another great video! I found that the essence brow gel gets better the more you use it. The gel becomes thicker after you have used it a few times (similarly to how some of their mascaras thicken over time). The catrice brow gel has a great applicator, but it starts to peel after a while - gross! To stop the transparent gel from turning a gross colour, apply the gel first and fill in the colour afterwards. It doesn't set very quickly, so there is a lot of time to fill in your brows.

Was waiting for your review! I found the updates in store yesterday and I only picked up the mini palettes and the eyeshadow primer. I was also interested in the brow gel and those glossy balms but was dissappointed in the shades… I picked up one of those new Lip Jams from Catrice instead :) Looks like I’ll pass these updates and just wait for their Disney collab and I’m still undecisive about that pumpkin palette that’s going to be released…I’m cool to neutral too so I’m always careful about such warm toned palettes lol
I have the original pure nude essence highlighter and it’s almost too deep for me, it’s a peach highlighter, and I think it would be too dark for anyone paler than light-medium. The finish is beautiful and I sheer it out. The one you tried here looks lighter and less warm, but with the similar natural finish.

I love your eye look! Very pretty! The blush gives you a nice natural flush of color. It took awhile to show up but I like it on you. That last liquid lip shade seems very popular right now but on me would just wash me out too. Love those last two bullet lipsticks the best on you.
I also never got to try the pure nude highlighter. In South Africa I never even saw it on the shelves while the USA was raving about it. I may pick up this highlighter to try it out
I saw it in stores here, then it was gone and then the US started raving about it. SA seems to be on a similar release schedule for Essence as Europe is.
Hi Maaike oh dear not the best launch from them lol. The eyeshadow palettes are the only thing that appeals to me tbh. I'm super sensitive to smells - especially in lip products (as it's right under your nose). I'm glad you mentioned it, so I know to avoid them and don't waste my money on any of them. The new releases haven't appeared in the UK yet though. The highlighter will be popular due to all the hype on youtube of the pure nude, but it's too dark for me and my really really pale skin. All in all quite disappointing. Best wishes.
Love your honesty! Had to laugh at ¨black hole of death¨🤣I´m over gimicks with makeup, that cheek oil reminds me of the colour change lip balms, we´re over that stuff, it´s childs make-up. I´m surprised to see there was no new mascara, they´re always releasing new ones. The lipsticks seem nice. The wand on the brow gel is ridiculous. I don´t think I´ll pick up anything from this seasons collection... 🤐 I do like that they are still releasing mini palettes :) x Oh and that brown gloss might be nice for people looking to pair it with a brown liner for that 90s lip..

I've seen a few people on you tube when there eyeliner dries out, they pull the felt tip end out of the eyeliner n switch it round n put it back in n it works again lol. Ive not tried it myself yet but will do at some point x
Yes that is something that works with a lot of eyeliners, but that only ensures the intensity of the color. I often find that the edge of the eyeliner isn't as sharp and with felt tips they can frey making the eyeliner less precise. It's why I prefer using eyeshadow and a brush so I can always control how the eyeliner comes out.
They have certainly reused the compound for the packaging. Formula feels different though. The Cool Collagen had a cooling sensation when they went on. These don't do that and the scent is definitely different too.
Thanks for the review! I checked the ingredients of the Skin Clearing Serum and couldn't find the concentration of PHAs and AHAs that it contains. It's probably not that high but still... We should use them in our evening routine(before a moisturiser) and shouldn't forget our sunscreen in the morning, just to be safe ;)
It doesn't say it anywhere on the packaging either what the concentration is. But Kiwi fruit water extract and Lactic Acid are the third and fifth ingredients on the list. As far as AHA's go, Lactic Acid isn't the strongest type (it's actually recommended for sensitive skin and the only one I have been able to use successfully) so if you were looking for this to have that punch that chemical exfoliants can have then this is not for you.
Thanks for also mentioning the scent on the lip products. For me this has been an issue with a lot of Essence lip products. I guess because they are so cheap, there isn't too much care taken in the composition of the things. Idk
Im sure it has nothing to do with Essence being " cheap " - we have here Trend it up lipsticks which cost even less but theyre so good and dont have any weird smell at all and better packaging. Its just that for whatever reason they put in weird unpleasant smelling stuff in there lol. I know a thing or two about ingredients so there is nothing too bad or too dangerous in Essence lipsticks per se, its just that smells they pick are well not too pleasant for me usually. The one with watermelon scent was aweful.
I end up not loving many Essence products precisely for that reason. The watermelon lipsticks Lili mentions I ended up keeping around a few just because I felt the shades were so stunning. And I felt the scent was less strong now that I have had them for a few months.
I have only found one color dupe for the Pillow Talk lipstick at the drugstore and that's the Catrice Power Plumping Gel lipstick in 030 Speak Up. I don't think it's still for sale though.
I really like the palette on you. We don’t have it available here in the US. I also like the first 2 glossy balms on you. Again, we don’t have that available here. I have a couple of the extreme shine lipglosses and I’m not really impressed with those. I prefer the lip Catrice products
Thanks! The shades were pretty nice but quite similar to thing Essence has already done. So I don't feel they are unique enough to keep around. Perhaps that rosy brown shade? That still appeals to me.

I like the look of the blush. It's very natural. Not all of us want highly pigmented blush.
Sure thing, I don't love super pigmented blush either and while it looks nice on camera my experience putting it on and wearing it wasn't great.
It looks like the Catrice lipstick release was better than this essence one. Do you think so too?

This is one of those releases where I feel: Why Essence Why? New isn't always better. That's what this update certainly proves.

They always release mascara but I never buy them if the wand doesn't look interesting to me. This round the mascars didn't stand out to me.

Aren't the caring shine just like the cool collagen lipsticks. They have the same shades too and look so similar

The products just launched here. It always takes a few month for anything new by Essence to come to the US, if it comes.
